Good for you, Pengie. My mother taught me to keep a well-stocked wardrobe.

Wow, Pengie!! You are pain free and have a new wardrobe coming too! What a wonderful Mother's Day you must have had -- and you deserve it, so I'm just thanking God for it . . . that is just such wonderful news to hear Marsha, so good to see you in here again. I read in your thread that Don was back in the home again, tho I don't htink I took time to respond. Anyway, I'm glad he's back home. I know if must be terribly hard to see him as he is. I remember the first time I noticed Bill aging. He was in the hospital -- probably his last stay for bi-polar -- and I just noticed his neck was looking wrinkled, and not exactly 'old', but showing his age. It made me so terribly sad, and I couldn't stop the tears. That seems so long ago now. Guess I've gotten used to seeing the wrinkles on both him & I . . . time sure does go by fast, and while I don't wish to go back in time and repeat most of the things I've been thru, it's hard to watch our loved ones age and realize that time stands still for no man, that our bodies age regardless of the steps we might take to preserve them, that our time here is oh so short. I have to say, it helps to remember also that we are all only pilgrims, just passing through, and that this was never meant to be our real home. Ok, I hope that didn't put everyone into the doldrums On a better note, I'm slowly getting the house back in order. We had another inicident with the electric Saturday, this time due to a storm we were having, tho we didn't find that tidbit out until Sunday evening when it finally got fixed. From 11:30 Sat. night until 11:00 Sunday night we had only partial electric coming into the house, and for most of that time we thought it was due to the new box the workman had installed. Thankfully, it wasn't. But, in the middle of trying to organize and clean up from all the remodeling & commotion going on all week, we had to pull stuff apart, run extensions to the pertinent appliances, and -- well, basically tear things apart again. By Monday morning, I was feeling like I was fighting a losing battle. Though I'd spent Saturday trying to get the kitchen & dining room back in order, moving all the tools back to the shed, putting appliances back in place, and just gathering all the junk that accumulates from these kinds of goings on, once again it was all wiped out, with tools brought back down from the shed, extension cords run across the room, pots & pans pulled out of there cabinet so that cabinet could be moved in order to get to the refrigerator cord and hook it to an extension . . it really was a mess It IS starting to look better now, tho, and today I'm trying to get my sewing room back in order so I can get in there and work on some orders that have been patiently waiting for me. I woke at 4:00 a.m., couldn't go back ot sleep so got up around 5:00 and started on the sewing room. Tried to go to the gym at 8:00 thinking he wasn't coming until 9:00, but his daddy had other ideas and met me at the bottom of the drive, so I haded back this way. Good think I didn't leave as early as I'd planned . . . I reminded him that we'd set Wednesday's hours later, at his request, and he said yeah but the grandparents were coming up today and would pick Garrett up early, so . . . . Hopefully, I'll still feel like going to gym when he goes home. Now, I'm waiting for him to go to sleep, but I think I'll just go join him for a bit and coax him into his nap or coax me into a nap

My mother taught me to keep a well-stocked wardrobe. I wish my mom had but our clothes were nearly always hand-me-downs, often from strangers (my mom did sew some things for us--sometimes taking something handed down and making something new with it). To this day I haven't a clue what "normal" is as far as a wardrobe is concerned (didn't hang out with other girls much as a teen so where would I have learned?) and Linda informs me that my wardrobe is pitiably small. Oh well. Pengie! What good news about being pain-free for part of the day/night. Woooo hooo! That new wardrobe sounds like a lot of fun too. Hi Linda! I didn't realize just how much your house was in disarray until I read your post here. I hope you have it all cleaned up soon so you can enjoy your weekend and your garden.

((((((((((((((((((((((((LEAH)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Pengie, I'm so glad that you've had some pain free time. I'm looking forward to that. Great about your new wardrobe too.

Good morning, all . . . Yeah, Maggie, it has been upside down for several weeks now. We hadn't actually gotten it all in order from the last floor-laying day because we knew this one was coming up. Besides, some of the flooring for the kitchen/dining/sitting rooms was being stored in the sitting room, which at that time was being used for a catch-all -- mostly my silk flowers. Once I got the shelves up in the sewing room for those flowers, I was at least able to do a pretty good clean up on that room. Of course by that time I had to clean it out all the way to do the flooring. The living room seems to be the only room that wasn't affected much by all the mess in there -- we've managed to keep it free of the overflow. Maybe that explains my desire to stay out here so much As I said, tho, I am making progress, slow tho it may be, in both our bedroom and the spare bedroom/sewing room. The kitchen, dining room & sitting room are actually in pretty good shape by now. If I could just get rid of the crazy ants! They come in every year at this time. I have ant traps out, and if I'm remembering correctly, they worked pretty well last year. I did get my sewing room, if not exactly clean, at least organized to the point of being able to sew, so that is what I'll be doing this morning. Garrett is with his Grandma & Grandpa, so I expect they'll be bringing him a little later than usual. That'll give me a bit of extra time -- tho I dare not count on that, cuz I really don't know. Thanks for the hug {{{{{{{{{{{Trish}}}}}}}}}} . . . how are you doing today?

Good morning, Pengie . . . it's so good to hear you sounding so much better! I'm sorry you can't soak in the bath like you'd prefer, but yes, it's good you have the chair after the last incident. Yes, it has been a lot of work -- more than I anticipated. But it is already worth it to see the cleanliness of my floors, and know there's no stinky rug in here anymore . . plus to be able to walk thru the dining room and feel no movement of the the floor boards which were about to give way. Now if I only had the energy to do the sewing room. I'm not counting on getting that done until fall, tho, so I'll have all summer to organize, clean up and get things moved off the floor. Garrett got here late this morning and will be leaving in a while, so his grandma said. They're taking him back home with them, so I will have the rest of the day to myself. That means more sewing and cleaning, so that's good.

Feeling sore and yucky today. Didn't end up going to my exercise session this afternoon. I was too much of a mess. There's a cheerful elderly gentleman who comes in Thursday afternoons. He's really funny, and I was hoping to go today, but it just didn't happen.

Hi, Trish, sorry to hear (read) that you are ill. hope iit passes soon. Penge, I haven't had a bath since 1983; before that, I had never taken a shower. For years I used a folding chair. when we moved here, my mom gave me an aunt''s unused shower chair. Now I use a roll-in chair. I still miss baths.

Mags, my mother obsessed once we were grown and she worked. Her job only required comfortable slacks. But at church, she loved wearing suits and nice dresses. My sis said she never threw out anything. After sseing what work it was for Don when his dad died, I decided to scale down. I'm not even sure what the average wordrobe consist of. I never had much 'sense' for fashion. Mother's harsh judgements of those who didn't dress up to snuff still make my stomach flutter when I have an event to go to. So, now that I have A classic, career-looking pant suit for fall/winter and for spring/summer, I feel set for weddings, funerals, graduations, banquets--whatever. Of course, Mom had three doozen

Good morning, everyone! {{{{{{{Pengie}}}}}}}}} . . . I hope you feel up to trying on those new clothes realy soon. And I hope they all fit you perfectly! As far as going to the dentist, I about need that shot of courage, too The sun is out today and it promises to be a beautiful day. I don't think we even got one small peek at the sun yesterday -- cloudy/misty/drizzly all day. I'll have to spent part of today sewing, since I got a couple more orders yesterday, and I already had 5 to catch up on, but I'm going to see if I can sneak outside for a bit anyway. I have seeds that really need planting and bird feeders that need filling. Besides, it's going to be too pretty to be cooped up inside all day.

Hi Zondie! Good to see you in here . . and I totally understand about there not being enough hours in the day. That's exactly why it's been several days since I've been in here. Thanks so much for keeping up with us, though -- especially the prayers. They are very much appreciated. {{{{{{{Zondie}}}}}}}}}} Yes, I am s-l-o-w-l-y getting done what needs to be done. I had company this weekend, so didn't get the bed up as hoped, but Bill really didn't want to work with it anyway because we're so far behind on yard work. I did manage to get some flowers potted, with my friend's help. There's plenty more to do, but at least it's a start. Also, today I weeded for a while -- with Garrett's help

The news that's unfit to print is always the most interesting. Glad all the clothes fit, except for that gian t-shirt. I want a cleaning lady!

Hey there, Pengie, Maggie, Zondie & Trish! Pengie, those dogs sound very appreciative. I kinda like frumpy clothes . . or as my husband told me once -- 'they don't touch you anywhere!' . . . love that feeling! If I'm not mistaken, you posted in Maggie's thread about the dr's visit, and it wasn't good. {{{{{{{{PENGIE}}}}}}}}} I don't know what to say except please known I'm still praying. {{{{{{{{Trish}}}}}}}} I know from reading your blog that you've been having quite a time with the fibromyalgia, too. You also are in my prayers {{{{{{{TRISH}}}}}}}} I'm finally starting to see some marked improvement in getting the house back in order. We got the bed set up this week, and I put the mattress topper on it this evening . . one more step in getting the bedroom back in bedroom-order. I also found and purchased the pantry cabinet today. It's not white, and doesn't have the antique-y look I'd hoped for, but it's sturdy, has 5 shelves, and no rust, so can be painted. I'd hoped to get it in here this weekend, but I really need to paint it first, so we'll see. W Tomorrow we have a graduation party to go to, then Monday we'll meet our daughter & the granddaughters at which time they'll come to stay with us a few days. I'm so looking forward to them being here! And meeting Garrett . . the youngest has met him, but not the oldest . . I know she's going to fall in love with him I'm off to bed pretty soon -- haven't been sleeping well, and sure would feel good to get a good night's sleep tonight. . . . . hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend
