ORIGINAL: robertyork GVFan will give you a better rundown on the program last night, but we were at the Gaither Homecoming Give It Away Tour. It was a great evening, we had to leave at break. The program was a little over three hours prior to break. Signature Sound and the GVB did almost half the program before the break. The others on most part only sang two songs. My personal opinion I like the Gather Vocal Band best of all, they just have a good sound and good stage performance. I must mention that Ms Eva Mae was there, as usual giving Bill a hard time. Everyone had a Pick On Bill night. Sorry, Bobby. I didn't get on at all yesterday to post! The Gaither night was a huge highlight for my hubby, since he loves Jeff & Sheri and there was a new bluegrass group that knocked our socks off (I don't remember their names.....do you, Bobby??) I had thought we would hear more of the individual singers/groups since there was a much smaller entourage with the tour, but like Bobby said, most of them only got to sing 2 songs anyway! But at least I did get to hear Janet Paschall live and that was a highlight for me. GVB and EHSSQ had the lion's share of time on stage the first half AND after intermission. I thought both groups were very good individually and as a combined/double quartet. I hardly recognized Doug Anderson, though. He has lost weight and his face is completely different! (Even Bill Gaither mentioned the "kids" that were so skinny.) I just kept looking to make sure it was him! The show started at 6pm and ended at 10:30. I little long for me, but it was a very good concert. Note to Bobby: The reason hubby and I changed seats is because the lady next to me was taking her seat and half of mine! Thankfully, the concert was not a sell-out and we were able to find other seats.

Sorry, I can't remember the Blue Grass Groups name. Have tried but just can't recall, but they were good and I'm sure we'll hear more from them in the future. Move if you can find seats. The people that was supposed to be in front of you thought the ticket said row c and they went down there. No one claimed those seats. They didn't even know they were in the wrong seats until Sunday morning when we seen them and we talked about the concert.

Wanted to give an update on the Franklin Graham Festival. Friday night there were around 150 saved. Saturday night (when we were there) there were close to 500 saved (that was student night - teenagers mostly). I haven't heard a report on last night yet. Praise The Lord for these decisions!

Looks like there have been some great concerts lately. Keep up the great concert reviews! My weekend My concert going weekend started Thursday Night with a trip to Madison, Florida to see the Dixie Echoes Quartet. This concert was promoted by a friend of mine and myself. There was a nice crowd that was anxious to see the DE. All of the guys did a great job! This was my first time seeing the de with new tenor: Wesley Smith. Wesley came from, most recently, palmetto state quartet. The dixie echoes still had that great sound as always. I believe that the guys are coming together very nicely...in a few more months i think they will have really geled like the line up with Dallas (one of their strongest ever imho). Randy mentioned that they are working on a new project. All of these men are some of the finest singers in our industry and also great people. It was a nice crowd for a thursday night and a very enjoyable night of great quartet music. Friday Night i went and saw a regional group from Jacksonville called Holy Ground Trio. It was their new cd release concert. The new cd is titled "Fresh Annointing" Holy Ground has been singing for many years and their latest cd is really good. A mix of some originals and a few covers. The night started with a local family who sings bluegrass. Holy ground had the rest of the night to minister. The group consists of Husband and Wife: Keith and Melinda Waddel and their daughter in law: Elaina Waddell. They had a time also when Jonathan Waddell (elaina's husband) got up to sing and testify which was a great time in the concert. Jonathan has a wonderful testimony and has a great singing voice. Also, Keith and Melinda's daughter: Brianna sang a few songs also. A whole family of great singers. www.holygroundtrio.com Saturday Night: We had a sing at my home church with regional favorties: Southern Joy. In 2006, Southern Joy won the NQC talent contest for groups. They are not only great singers, but good friends of mine. They will be having a new album out soon, and it should be a good one. As with everytime i have seen them sing, they sang their hearts out to a receptive crowd. Some other local former quartet members were there so there was a few impromptu groups put together (of which i had the opportunity to play some keys for them)...and it was a blast. The audience loved it. Of course, with all the sings i went to, the groups were NOT ASHAMED to minister and pray with those in the audience who needed it. Great three nights of singing!

Hidee, I was able to see my favorite Quartet, The Melody Boys Quartet, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of last weekend! They were in my general area of Texas, so I made all 4 concerts (two on Sunday). Over the past several years TMBQ has been through several member changes after almost 16 years of consistency. Believe me when I say that pure, fantastic Melody Boys Quartet sound and blend is 100% back! The group has been very stable except for the tenor position for almost two years. As we all know the Lord's timing is perfect! TMBQ waited a long time for the new tenor, Tim Williams; however, it was worth the wait! Last weekend was his first weekend with them, and it was marvelous! I can not wait for everyone to hear them! Can you tell I'm almost giddy! <smile>! Check their schedule and make it a point to see them when you can! You can also check out a new picture with Tim.

I work 2 out of every 3 weekends so it is hard to get to a lot of singings. But one I recently saw was The Kingsmen, The Perrys, and Gold City at Abba's House in Hixson.

Vera and I attended the Mike LeFevre Quartet homecoming last night in Flowery Branch, Georgia. It was at Grace Baptist Church - a lovely and very comfortable church facility. On the program were a family from Ringgold, GA named the Hullenders, a terrific ventriloquist whose act was named Ryan and Friends, Ivan Parker and, of course, Mike LeFevre Quartet. The Hullenders are a trio of father, daughter and son and they did a marvelous job. I wish the microphone had been louder for the daughter. She has a beautiful, soft voice and her dad and brother are louder. The did a number of songs two of which were Forever Changed and The Answer is Christ. Ryan came up several times between singing acts and was fabulous! He even did a routine with Ivan, the Hullender lady, and Stacy Bragg (bass for MLQ) that was toooooo funny!! The MLQ and Ivan did marvelous jobs and it was obvious that everyone was enjoying themselves. The whole group got together for several songs and they were great -- the only drawback being that there weren't enough mikes to go around since the Hullenders just used Mike's sound system. I've put some pictures put out on Daniel's blog site and will try to get the videos prepared today before leaving for Birmingham to see Wes Hampton!!!

I went last night to a concert at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. I had a very good time as I was seated next to Mark Lowery's Mother. Beverly is a fun lady and was greated by all of the ones doing the concert. First up was His Song. Three young men that have a good harmony together. They sang for about 50 minutes and was well received by the crowd with serveral standing ovations. It was my first time to hear them, but it won't be my last. Jeff & Sherri were second on the program. What can I say but that they did their usually great job. Morgan did very well. She is going to get better and better as time goes on. I do think she worries how people are judgeing her on stage, and that is making her nervous, but she will get over that with a little time. Keep up the good work Morgan you are good. Gordon Mote did the last set. He sang some, and played the piano in his set. He is a very funny man that is prowd of his family. He may not see with his eyes, but he sees more than a lot of people do with eye sight. The concert ended with all comming to the stage and doing several numbers. The big surprise was at the end Gene McDonald came out with them to sing several numbers. One he did as a solo, which I can not remember the name of. He has not lost his singing voice. I wish he would get back to singing, but he seem to like what he is doing, and is still getting some singing in while doing it. It was a great night of gospel music that all enjoyed.

Dinana....Good videos again.....you're the best. Ruth....Glad you enjoyed the concert....We say HisSong at the awards program on Tuesday. They sang Joy. They can really go a great job. We've seen them several times in the past. Bev sings quite often on Thomas Roads morning worship service. We used to get the program live but skyangel went off air. Now we watch on daystar, it is taped on daystar and not nearly as good as live service.

Vera and I went to see Wes Hampton in a solo concert last night in Birmingham. It wasn't a southern gospel concert - most of the songs were contemporary, but it was absolutely wonderful!! The small church choir backed him up as well as his wife and a man named David - didn't get his last name! I got some really good video --- I was on the 3rd row with an unobstructed view --- which I will get posted as soon as I can. I have finished putting my favorite one on youtube from work this morning -- see below. Wes continues to have some allergy/laryngitis issues but he did very well. This is what was sung: Blessed Be Your Name I Will Bless the Lord Lord of All - Wes talked a bit about how he came to be a member of the vocal band. He had some details I hadn't heard before. Creator King - this was a solo by Andrea (backup singer was Wes) and she has a beautiful voice! I'm Amazed - the Jason Crabb version --- this was terrific!! Your Name Jesus Paid It All/You Are My King Faith For the Pleasure of My King - Wes talked about his family and some challenges they've had to face, which led into . . . Always Place at the Table - my favorite from the new Lovin' Life CD from GVB - backed up by Andrea and David ----- VIDEO Somebody Cares On Our Side - closing song - VERY contemporary with very loud band! I'm glad it was last!!! But it was a good song.

I got to see Greater Vision last night in Antioch, CA !!! This was probably the last time I will get to see Jason with Greater Vision and the crowd really let him know how much they have appreciated his 13 years of service. Gerald was his usual self, and he had the audience laughing all night. Some of the songs included: Tell me the Story of Jesus He’d still been God As I am God will pass by With all the many miracles Redeemed Medley A mighty Fortress is out God Living in Canaan Now Faces It means just what it says He is to me( With a 16 year old kid from the church who sang Jason’s part, and did a fantastic job) God wants to hear you sing
