Overall it was a decent night of fights. I was glad for Heath. I think it was a good decision by the judges. Silva is definatley king of the UFC for now.
I'm disapppointed in not airing all the fights. They showed Koscheck after the main event,I was hoping they would show some of the others but as you know they didn't.

I'm pulling for GSP.
Okay, I know he's a Canadian but the guy is not only good, he is good for the sport.

Definitely pulling for GSP.

There are quite a few good fights on the card. I'm hoping Franklin can pull out a win.

Anybody catch the "Top 25 moments" of that UFC reality show last night? One guy tries to put another guy in an arm bar, but instead gets lifted up and his head smashed on the concrete... yikes!

Anybody plan on catching the GSP vs Serra this weekend?

I really don't want to pull for the Canadian to beat the USA but, GO GSP!
I just don't like Serra.
St. Pierre is a better representative of and for the sport.

I have to work so I won't be able to see the fight. I am definitely not a big fan of Serra so I will be pulling for St. Pierre. I also feel St. Pierre is a good representative of the of sport.

Go Franklin!!

GSP was awesome! what a display of talent. He continues to get better and better! He totally dominated Serra. Serra was gracious in defeat and showed utmost respect for St. Pierre.

Franklin defeats Luter!
I have to admit I was pulling for Luter to beat Franklin. I am a Franklin fan but I believe Luter BLEW two oppurtunities to beat Silva and thus he has the best chance to beat him. I don't think Rich can ever beat Anderson Silva w/o a surprise knockout. So I really wasn't pulling as much against Rich as I was hoping for another chance to beat Silva.
I felt Luter was gassed after the 1st rd. What a poor excuse for conditioning.

All in all a pretty good night of fights.

Well I saw the GSP fight and all I can say is wow! Serra never had a chance he was completely outclassed. However I do have to say he was very gracious in defeat.

The most amusing fight had to be the track meet between Nate Quarry and Kalib Starnes. All I can say is if you don't want to fight then just don't show up.

The fight card for UFC 85 looks like it should be a good one.

UFC 85 Bouts (officially announced):
-Matt Hughes vs. Thiago Alves
-Michael Bisping vs. Chris Leben
-Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick
-Rashad Evans vs. James Irvin
-Fabricio Werdum vs. Brandon Vera
-Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera
-Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman
-Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites
-Luis Arthur Cane vs. Jason Lambert
-Neil Wain vs. Antoni Hardonk
-Jonathan Goulet vs. Paul Kelly

What do you like best? WEC or UFC?
And what has happened to Big John McCarthy? Dennis Kane?

Anybody seen a Pride fight lately?

Personally I like the UFC.

McCarthy is now a commentator/analyst for "The Fight Network".

Anyone have any predictions for the Penn/Sherk fight. Personally I think Penn will win by submission before the 3rd round.

Sherk was terrible. Penn completely dominated him.
One thing I don't understand about true wrestlers is, What makes them think they can box. Sherk is not a boxer, neither is Penn, but Penn has a much better standup than Sherk. Sherk never attempted to go to his strenth which is the ground game.

Tito lost and should retire. Good career, nothing else to prove so he should move on. He'd make a great coach.

Overall it was a pretty good fight night.

Watched the MMA on CBS and believe me when I say Kimbo Slice doesn't belong in the cage with top MMA fighters.
He is strong, hits hard and can take a punch, but a top MMA fighter will take him down and submit him.
I felt his fight was stopped too early and thus some will add to his reputation as a up and coming MMA champ.
Lawler and Smith was a good fight, too bad about the early stop.

I have to agree I think Kimbo would get completely obliterated if he fought any of the top MMA fighters. I do think he has improved a great deal and will learn a great deal more from his trainer Bas Rutten, but he has a long way to go before he will be considered a top contender.

I wish him luck.
