The light heavyweight division is thriving: the champ Rampage, Henderson, Michael Bisping, Rashad Evans, Matt Hamill, Jason Alexander, Forest Griffin, Lyoto Machida.

Liddell has faced some criticism lately for what some consider a partying lifestyle. When you are winning, those details are not scrutinized. Think that is much of a factor in his losses?

Didn't watch the fights, I was watching Bama, but I must say I was surprised at the results.
Griffin submits Rua? Wow.
Although I picked Sanchez over Fitch, I'm glad Fitch won.

Chuck may consider retirement. The lightheavyweight division is stacked pretty deep.

Maybe a little. I think he has always been a little bit of a party fan.
But he seems to train hard for his fights. I believe his losses have more to do with his style. If my memory serves me right, Chuck used to kick much more than he does now. It seems he is relying on the right hand. I didn't see the Jardine fight, did he kick much? I just think that he needs to get back to a more rounded fight plan.
With that, I believe Rampage wins in a third fight. He is really improving his game. His will to continue training hard and staying focused will be the big question mark in his success.

Gotta say I never expected this one. I read on line the Rua said he had an injured knee throughout training which is why he gased so badly. From what the article said Rua is have surgrey on the knee and won't start training again until Jan. or Feb. Either way Griffin domintated that fight and deserved the victory.

I was so glad to see Sanchez lose.

Chuck definitely needs to do something different if he wants to continue being a threat in the light heavyweight division.

It's not UFC,but did anyone see boxing's Taylor/Pavlik middleweight championship fight?

Great fight! Pavlik was great. He showed great determination and used solid straight punches to KO Taylor. I've always like Jermaine Taylor, but the more he has fought, the more he looks like Bernard Hopkins. Constantly tying up,hitting with his shoulders, rough housing, boring. He slowly got away from his "fighting" and became a mold of Hopkins. He actually fought and looked like his old self against Pavlik. Kelly Pavlik, the new middleweight champ!!!

Pacman defends title! Barrera supposedly retires. Yeah, whatever.

On to UFC. Hope Rich Franklin regains his championship belt.
It won't be easy.

This article reports that Randy Couture resigned from the UFC, relinquished his belt and will not provide on-air analysis at the UFC fights?

Fedor was not coming into the UFC, and Couture felt he has nothing more to prove...

I think Franklin was demoralized because he knew he faught the way Silva wanted him to fight. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and regain the title.

We will just have to wait and find out.

You knew it was going to happen sooner or later I was just hoping his last fight was going to be against Fedor. I personally think he could have beat him.

If Dana White has his way he'll get Fedor into the UFC. Maybe then we'll see Randy comeback. I doubt this will happen. Randy in the movies doesn't sound like a good match.
I like his ringside commentery 10-1 over Joe Rogan. Rogan can't say anything w/o yelling and too often shows his bias of fighter to another.
He is such a Koscheck and Sanchez fan he should go stand in their corner.
Randy is much better w/o the bias or yelling and seems to explain the fight in better detail.

My heart is with Rich Franklin but my head says Silva wins.

I pick Vera over Silvia. But I'm not a big fan of Vera.

What has happened to Arlovsky? Where is Monson?

Poor Rich got belted.pelted, beat like a drum.
He cannot handle Silva. He could train 6 months and still Silva would beat him. I hoped Rich would win,but I kinda knew he wouldn't. Silva has good punches,an excellent clinch and good knees. For some reason Rich just doesn't match up with him at all.

Tim Slyvia punched Vera silly. Terrible fight plan for Vera and he admitted that he didn't follow his corner's instructions. Big Mistake.

Looking forward to November.. Hughes vs Serra.

Well it looks like Silva might have Franklin's number. Losing once could be considered a fluke but losing twice in a row means your opponent is the superior fighter. That is my humble opinion of course.

I am also looking forward to the Hughes/Serra fight.

Hope Hughes wins.

I'll pick Liddell over Silva, and Hughes over Serra.

In less than 2 weeks, at UFC 78, I expect Rashad Evans to beat England's Bisping. IMO, Parysian will beat Chonan...

I have to agree.

Personally I think Bisping is overrated and I'm hoping Rashad knocks his ego down a few notches.

To be completey honest I'm looking forward to the Alexander/Thiago fight more than this one. Alexander is a beast and Thiago seems like he will be a good challenge for him.

Get ready folks! Big fight night comng up!
Gotta really pull for Rashad to beat Bisbing. Please!
And I always enjoy watching Karo work his judo skills into the fight.

Is there anyway to get Randy to call/comment instead of Joe(the screamer) Rogan. I mean can Rogan talk and call the fight without yelling?
Arghhhh! Annoying.

Rashad Evans took Bisping down at will, and won a split decision.

Karo won a decision, was booed by the Jersey fans, and apologized to the fans. Randy Couture was in Karo's corner.

I was not too surprised to see Thiago Silva knock out Houston Alexander, as Silva is a BJJ black belt. Someone new to mix up the light heavyweights...

Joe Lauzon (TUF Finalist) won by submission, Ed Herman (TUF Finalist) won by TKO. And the other Thiago (Alves) won over Chris Lytle due to ref stoppage...

Anderson Silva is gonna fight Dan Henderson (Henderson will drop to 185)!

Yeah chemdude, thanks for the reply. I thought all the UFC fans were asleep. This thread had become pretty quiet.

Karo was boring. Did you really think it was a split decision in Evans and Bisping?

Didn't see the Thiago Alexander, but I hope the UFC doesn't put Alexander out in the cold for because of the quick loss.
