How do you guys think Keith Plott's leaving will affect the group? Personally, I think if they could snag someone like Bill Lawrence they'd be perfectly fine. However, with Ricky leaving soon, and with Keith leaving, I sure hope they don't depreciate like so many other "greats" have...

Youngartist, You are right in that it comes down to who BFA hires as their new bass singer. As comes with any personnel change they will still need time to adjust and work on a new vocal blend. This will probably also delay the release of a new album. Weren't they suppose to go in to the studio soon?

Youngartist, What do you mean by Brian's style? I saw the group for the first time Saturday night and I am the one that posted about Keith going solo. From my view, Brian and the group were very worshipful and anointed. I thought had they been in church that was a little more 'free' in their worship that the service might have really taken off. I'd love to see them again in that type of atmosphere. We might really 'have church' then.

They did go to the studio and lay down tracks for the new allbum. I just wonder if Brian will hire a bass singer or will he go trio?

Actually, this is the first time where I can honestly say that having a trio wouldn't be a total loss for the group. What I mean is, normally I would hate to see a group lose their bass singer - I do in this case - but the thing is, BFA's blend with Brian, Bill, and Derrick is so close, that they'd actually sound very good as a trio. I still don't like the idea, and I highly doubt that will happen anytime soon, but it wouldn't be a terrible idea, IMO. quote:

I love it, BTW. Wow! You got to see BFA for the first time. That's wonderful. I do credit the Plott announcement to your information. They didn't seem "free?" Yea, that happens; I've seen groups such as Gold City squelched by a church/atmosphere/time limitation. It really stinks, but some churches do it. Fortunately, I have never seen BFA in that situation before. I've seen them probably 6 or 7 times, and they have never missed a beat - ever. And the Holy Ghost always shows up on "Long As I Got King Jesus." (you guys who say you don't like that song can't speak till you've e seen it done live. ). Those are big reasons why they're my current favorite. Solid quartet singing, very professional live performance, very professional recordings with very good songs, very high/good tenor, very good lead/baritone/bass vocals, very talented band, and very sincere Christian men, with an absolute desire to do nothing other than to lift up the Lord in the pursuit of lost souls. These guys are the real deal, and I've never been dissappointed in their lives on or offstage.

He would be a good fit.....I saw Jeff do a concert with the Poet Voices (Tim Duncan was out having a baby or something like that....). If he could fit their style, he could easily fit BF & A's. I doubt he will go with Brian, but Jeff is a very versatile bass singer.

Youngartist, I agree w/ you about "Long as I got King Jesus". The (baptists) church came up on it's feet and I could feel the Holy Ghost!! I think if it had been another denomination ( CoG, Pentecostal, etc etc) then we could have really 'had church'. I can tell you know EXACTLY what I mean. I think they are WONDERFUL. I am a huge Booth Brothers fan, but I can tell ya, BF & A are my next 'new' favortite. I can't WAIT to see them again!!!!

Adam, I also saw that this morning. Gene would be an interesting fit for BFA. It also seems interesting that Tony Peace may be exiting the Kingsmen. The revolving door that is quartet personnel continues...

Although in the case of Gene McDonald, he stayed with FB's quite a while. How long was he there?

BFA will be in concert with the Perry's in Douglas, Ga Saturday night at the Martin Theatre. We plan to be there. Does anyone know who is opening for them? It's a Bill Bailey concert.
