hmm, I missed that one. Thanks Sarah.

And I love the color Christina!

In that pic I was wearing size 18, and I wrapped around twice, so it ought to fit around anyone at least once. My friend hasn't written back yet, but I'll be giving her a call tomorrow, so I'll let you know then if I can send it to you.

I just remeasured mine. It's actually 6 yards, 18 feet. I thought yards and meters were the same thing. I forgot that I got an extra yard from the directions because I thought that because I'm fluffy, I'd need it bigger than that. But, then I found out the real deal Moby is 18.5 feet long.

Keep me posted.

I am so sorry to have gotten your hopes up. My friend told me that she gave the wrap to her SIL for their new baby.

Bummer. Thanks for trying though! I appreciate your efforts.

Can anyone here recommend the Peanut Shell baby pouch? Or a Sleeping Baby Productions sling, Baby K'tan, New Native Carrier, or MamaBaby Sling? In the back corner of the my mind, I'm wanting to think that maybe Ryanne has a Peanut Shell, but I'm not sure if that's my pregnancy brain making stuff up or not.

I'm in the market for a new sling, especially for a newborn to 4 month old. Once they get to the stable neck/sitting up stage I use an Ergo (which I LOVE!!!!) But I need something for a little tiny baby. I need a sling that is stretchier, rides up higher on the chest, and isn't so big that the baby sinks deep into the pocket. I have a Maya Pouch, which I detest. It does not fit right even though it's adjustable, and I could never get dd in it without her sinking so deep down that the pouch sides closed up over her face and she was riding under my chest. I also have a Moby - I like the stretchy factor, but I really don't like having to tie it every time I go somewhere. I want something I can just throw over me, pop the baby in, and voila. Like the Ergo, but in a sling form

Would the Peanut Shell work for someone with a larger chest? I'm on the taller side (5'8), thin, but when I'm nursing my bra size gets up in the DD/E range. Are slings even usable for someone with a larger chest? I always get this feeling I'm going to smother the baby.

I would love any suggestions!

I want a sling too! I wish I could find a store to actually TRY them all on to Know that I want/like them before spending the money. I'm at a loss as to what to buy.

what are your "needs"...that's the first place to start. If you had to list five things that you require what would they be

for example....mine would be....
*I have a bad back and have to have something that is well supportive on the back and doesn't hurt or strain it
*I am a larger person, so I want something that I can adjust easily to my own size needs
*I want something that I could nurse in if I needed to
*I plan to be wearing the baby at home, at church, at the grocery store, and many other places, so I need something that would work for standing up and sitting down
*my hubby likes to have the option of wearing the baby too, so it needs to be something that can be adjusted for my being short and him being tall (and something he wouldn't find too "girlie" looking)

I think that works. I have never used one so I don't know what my 'needs' are per say.

That covers everything for me (minus the back pain) If my memory serves me correct, Sarah you like the Moby right? I'm thinking I will buy one as making one just doesn't seem to be happening. I don't mind though; I just want to get something.

I know I asked somewhere before, is the MobyD much different other than the panel in the front? It is .5 metre shorter...I wonder if that would make a difference for me?
I found a Moby D on Kijiji, and hoping she still has it. I would like to get a lighter one to use for the summer, the one I have is fleece

I wouldn't like it because I don't tie mine the normal way...I would think the panel would make it harder to look right if it is tied any different then the normal front holding way. With the age of Chase though, do you want to use it more for the hip carry? If so then it might look funny.

I bought the Moby wrap last night. It was fairly inexpensive. I'm really looking forward to getting it and trying it out!

YAY!!!!!
if the way they tie it doesn't work for you, I tie mine different...>I posted it in post #419....it works better for me to tie it that way, and is much easier to put on (for me). It's also how I tie it to do the side hold with a bigger baby.

...if only I could give stars.

THANK YOU SARAH!!!

I may, just may, go to a store today that sells Moby wraps. I'm not sure if I will have the time after running a few other errands and risk the traffic coming back.

Just an FYI, I just won a Moby Wrap on e-bay. There were a number of them for sale there, some new some "EUC" which I learned through this purchase means excellent used condition. While you're shopping around you might check it out there too.

My Chiro told me yesterday that I need to get a more structured carrier that puts the weight more on my hips then on my back, so now I'm on the prowl for something I like...

The Ergo is nice, but I am totally in love with the Beco or even a Buckle Tei.

My MIL and I finished making the Mei Tai!! Just in time for our trip. I tried it on today and it seems to work good and I think Jacob likes it. We'll see how it goes - Disney - talk about a crash course in babywearing!

My Moby wrap came today!! CHECK IT OUT. That was the first time I put it on. It was a little loose so I felt like I needed to "hold" her still, but I'll make it tighter next time. Let me say I love it already!!!

Cool! It took me a few tries to get the tightness right also. Keep practicing and you'll get it!

YAY!!!! I am glad it came for you and that you love it!!!! Yeah the tightness can be a bit awkward at first, but it gets easier...then about the time you get it just right they up and grow on you and you have to adjust it again...lol
