{{{{{{{{{{BEN}}}}}}}}}}} . . I'm so, so sorry, Ben, but please don't give up hope yet. God is still working.

{{{{{{{{{{Ben}}}}}}}}}

I can't imagine all you're feeling and thinking. Dear, dear friend, God is bigger than Lynn and John and bigger than all that is happening. And all your times together and all that has happened till now is NOT for naught. You have grown in your relationship with God because of your marital journey and you are not who you were when you married. And I can't believe that Lynn has been untouched by all that has happened. Although it's not showing right now, she too has grown because of the changes in you. I refuse to believe that she won't come to her senses and return to you and I will be praying for that even if divorce takes place before then. We worship a God of miracles and he hasn't stopped doing miracles. I'm asking him to do one for you.

Ben, Deb and I are and will continue to pray for you and all the people and issues regarding this painful situation. Right now I pray that you will find through legal aid or some other resource a caring lawyer who will help you protect Kayla. I pray that any judge who comes to oversee these matters will be wise enough to do what is truly best for Kayla and may seek help Lynn to see things from another perspective than the one she currently has.

Lord, help our friend, Ben, to get the legal and any other counseling help that is beyond our abilities. Lord, open the heart and mind of Lynn to see this whole situation as You see it. Lord, please comfort Ben, and console and protect Kayla.

She's offered the phone number of the pastor friend of his with a big church they are attending who they are currently staying with until they get their apartment next week. She says he a "very wise" man of god who has been through two divorces of his own so he is understanding of it all.... At least he encouraged her to be upfront with me that she is going after the divorce.

I used the lower case g on purpose.

She's being so deceived and looking to the wisdom of others who have been deceived as well. God can soften her heart and open her eyes, and I pray He does that.

I will pray that an actual man or woman of God is placed in her path and helps her see past the lies.

She called to ask how I was doing. What did she expect to hear? That I was falling apart? (Even though I'm not that far from it.) Asked about her door locks on the car, why they wouldn't work, and how to access her email. On the car I told her she needed to call the Ford dealer. She said she didn't know of one near where they were. The city I thought they were in has tons of dealers and I know there is a Ford dealer there so I asked her where she was, but she said it didn't concern me and I didn't need to know.

I SOOO want that number to the pastor! I think I now know who this pastor Gary is that they are staying with, and if it is the same person he heads a huge SBC in a city further north. Pray that I don't do anything stupid. Pray that I remember to ask Jesus to be alongside me if/when i talk to this man.

Father, I ask that Ben will hear your voice over all the other voices clamouring for attention in his mind and in his ears. Give him wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent and WHAT to speak when he does. I ask this especially in regards to this "pastor" who encouraging Lynn in her folly. Please give Ben not only wisdom but courage and patience. And please wrap your arms around him and fill him with assurances of your presence and comfort. And Father, if there are any wrongs which Ben must confess and/or make right, please give him the humility and strength to do so. Thank you for the love you have for both Ben and Lynn and for Ben's love and commitment to you. Please honour that love and commitment of his and heal what has been broken. You can turn the broken into a whole that is better than the beginning and I ask, Lord, that you do this for Ben and Lynn. Open her eyes to the deceit she is believing and Lord, if all of this is because she is in a manic state and isn't thinking correctly, then I ask that you bring her out of that and into a place where she can see the truth. In the meantime, Lord, please protect Ben, Lynn and Kayla. God, in all this, PLEASE protect Kayla. She's had enough disruption and pain in her life. She doesn't need more. You promise that all things work together for good to those who love you. Please work this whole situation out for good and not for evil. In Jesus' name, Amen

At least she's still calling you, Ben. That fact indicates to me that she subconsciously doesn't want to sever ties. I could be wrong. We'll see.

It is sad that there are so many religious leaders who call themselves Christians who can get large followings by telling people what they want to hear. I pray that Lynn will one day hear what she needs to hear from a truly Godly counsellor.

Lord, be with Ben and Kayla through this difficult time. And go after Lynn and restore to yourself and to her family and your flock.
