They say through the eyes of a man you can make your way to his soul

So I say: do you dare to make that journey?

I seated here, on my thrown of milk crates, the compost king with my broken crown and scepter, watching as my army of vagabonds, a thousand strong and far mightier than the greatest legion, wage war on the cardboard cutout world around me.

Look into my eyes if you dare, but beware for it is certain the walls you built with such care shall surely fall.

Reach for the sky and watch as the stars slip through your hands

Take a moment and look around as the village burns; hear the wailing, see the rivers flow back towards the heavens. Fall to the ground and listen for the cracking of the thunder and the blaring of the trumpets.

Travel with me back to my castle and notice the scoffing, huffing and laughing as your wise men spew forth nothing short of comical jumbled lies.

How do you live without feeling? How do you go on taking and yet never giving?

Look deep into my eyes and see the river flowing over its banks, the forest bursting in flames and the mountains crumbling as if they were mere sand.

Wasting my time speaking, laughing at the madness spreading like the plague, wondering why, as the moon radiates in the night sky and a new day breaks on the horizon.

Listen as your children cry out for a brighter future, with their bellies swollen from hunger and in their hands they hold pamphlets

My kingdom is filled with those who were once sinners and now are saints, created from your zeros and forbidden are your heroes.

You dismiss the prophets and embrace the fools.

The clanking of shekels is forever echoing

The pain and sorrow drips from my hands and feet; the red puddles grow on the dirt below. The ground rumbles and those standing watching as life slowly seeps from my pours cry out, amazed at the scene unfolding before their eyes.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Inspired by social distortion

The final chapter of history is written -

Standing here in the noon day sun
A pocket full of lent
Listening to the falling rain
Watching as the train pulls into the station

I've grown tired of attending funeral after funeral; hopes and dreams lay shattered on back highways, lives scattered amongst the broken glass and twisted metal, eaten away by disease, or perhaps choked from the soul with each passing day.

I've grown weary of watching as others catch that bus to the valley of the green and the grey, oh how easy it is to simply walk away.

Pardon me as I smirk at your supposed bravery

I grow bored and restless

Tired of trying to make sense of and refute your weakly fabricated logic and reasoning

And the lack of communication, or maybe it’s the contact, with the outside world seems to be taking its toll.

Today I shall walk away before anyone else can leave, before my trembling knees buckle

See the train for heaven leaves at 2 and it won’t wait

Nor shall it have to this time

So I let go of my fears, wipe away my tears and I draw my last breath

I won’t live this way; may angel’s wings carry me home

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your hands forever pushing

Your feet forever walking

Something keeps me from leaving

The winds of change are forever blowing

Yet never will I stray

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Through the:
The rising sun
The pale moon light
The sweltering heat
The bone chilling cold
I did wait for you to learn to fly

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

No one wants to uncover what lies too far below the surface

No one wants to push the envelope too far

It’s easier to stand far from the edge

It makes more sense to continue on wide open paths

Separated by invisible walls-

Will the mundane suffice?

Dinner at the Corner House

“Have you lost your mind my dear boy?”

What is that you say?

Stop now; pay close attention

Listen to me!!!

Has anyone seen Castro?

Well now that you mention it

Mother please refrain from sending these devilish pastries which shall certainly ruin my figure.

Now on with what you were saying, please no more of these interruptions.

Peace and quiet, shall I be denied PEACE AND QUIET!!

Slow down now; talk where we can understand you

Feed them mud pies

Are you mad my boy, what you speak of is that which shouldn't be spoken of in mixed company; least you should make the dear ladies cry.

Well they are eating mud, you know

Tomorrow afternoon at a quarter-to-three I shall be expecting your call and we shall put an end to this non-sense.

Has anyone seen Castro?

Oh mother I do hear that everywhere one looks you do see them.

Oh enough of your childish thoughts

Drink a toast

Kenya, the Congo, or maybe, Thailand, Oh no wait Burma any of those places will do; just make sure to bring the whole family.

Lovely my dear, a family get away I should of thought of that ages ago

Has anyone seen Castro?

Post Cards.

Dear Mother,

I met a girl today. I think you would like her. Really it matters not if you do or not because I think she might be the one.

Dear Father,

Can I please come home? I know it’s been years since we have spoken but I would like to come home; even if just for an hour or two.

Dear Brother,

Well that’s a fine mess you have gotten yourself into; I seem to recall you stating you would never allow that sort of thing to happen again.

Dear Sister,

Oh, I was thrilled to see you and your family again. Give them my regards and I shall try to call later this week.

Dear friend,

Thought I would drop you a line and say hi
Hope everything is going well.

Dear Me,

Quit writing people letters and leaving them on the counter.

BUT FOR GRACE...

This is the day that the Lord has made.
I should be glad and rejoice in Him,
But pain racks my innermost being;
Like unto being sliced into multiple parts!
Oh, rejoicing! So close at hand, yet, out of reach!
Disobedience chews the fruit of its making…
And digests the nectar of its illusions…
Calling forth more weakness heaped upon the last.
All for what gain? Stupidly weak is the flesh!
Pregnant with lust. Inviting its pleasures…
Knowing full well none are to be found in store!

Oft have I known repentance. But alas! Feigned!
Always back to lust…with it to be chained!

Oh, Adam! Oh, Eve! So to you my blame descends?
BUT FOR GRACE, I could blame you for not caring
That you took me with you when felled!
You simply didn’t believe the command given;
The statement immutably uttered…Death
Shall be your sore reward for with lust to hunger!

Did you not foresee its acid-rain of pain?
How could you? Yet, I am warned!
Did you feel the swelling of promise temptation gave?
Pretentious though is ever its voice. Naught other.

Oh, once mighty parents! Did prior to the grave,
Discernment come to you, and instruct you well…salvation?
Or did cancerous lust swallow all hope?
So well, at times, does it do…leaving one hollow,
Yet to the brim filled with hatred for self,
And having to give in…to spin…toward sin!

Subtle, yet brazen, are its approachments.
The stings of its minute pleasures paralyze
The soul into wanting for to add them into one…
And be satisfied! But the lie is obvious more…
Upon each subsequent minute taste encountered.
Such must be the tempter’s very state of being!
Longing…without repose. Ceaseless longing!
Burning…without requite. Bitter, eternal agony!
Such he has to give to mankind. Naught else!

Still…his falsenesses lure…despicable in actual form;
Appearing otherwise, each to his own beholding.
Sewing threads of death, as in tiny stitches,
That cut up their victims, rather than bind!
Serpents, every one of them! Greedy for man
To be thus enjoined to their pain…
And their poison spewed forth with vengeful purpose!

The constant giving over to their hideous cause
Transforms innocence into the very likeness
Of the cyanide that makes them what they are.
So also would I be…BUT FOR GRACE
That through longsuffering is given,
Affording relief, but not without great cost!
Simple believing…some say. Penance…say others.
Voices having obtained by ingredients partaken?
Some certainly mistaken, say I!
Yea, BUT FOR GRACE! Resolved would be my fate…
Such as herein these lines penned!

Restless conscience! Secret mechanic of the soul…
Battling to make known the narrow passageway
Of escape from Hades wreck and ruin!
Nuances are better than totality of darkness,
Yet, if they be self-wrought are one and the same!
Somewhere betwixt (if that be possible)…a spark.
Such shall I label hope…however dim.

Disheveled reasoning begs and pleads to be known!
Searching the depths, or the heights, or philosopher’s tales…
For excuses to avoid the unavoidable sight
Of the appearance of Truth in brains cinema!
Free to choose! Choice owned by created Adamites.
Truth…innermost known! Impartation of Creator!

Still…seduction, harbinger of lust, like a magnet
Draws the heartstrings, choking choice, as it were,
Through the succession of victories gained over time.
And legally so because of the repetition of the acts!
Temptress that she is…gentle are her wooings.
Enamored by her charms…the bait is set!
Gentleness turns to enmity…turns to laughter…
Heaped upon the clients of her beguilements!
Headlong…felled to the place of increasing familiarity…
Pain, guilt, fear…look one in the eyes and cheer!

But…this enemy of mortal man, with its lust,
And myriad counterparts of destruction
Is defeated…claims One who numbers lifetimes’ breaths!
One who created the strategist who would devise our defeat.
One who willingly left an abode of absolute purity…
To take upon Himself puny man’s form and filth;
Not in disguise, but rather in open proclamation
Of love…of peace…of reconciliation!

He alone can safely navigate the Strait of Life…
For Life He is…and the Creator thereof!
He alone can annul the sentence of wrath and death,
By mortal man incurred through disobedience!
He alone can predicate this ability (NONE OTHER!)
Given to Him in return for His sacrifice Blood!

Yet, the mere realization, or acceptance, is not enough!
Of this Truth: A costly project entailing
Renunciation, separation, forfeiture of all old claims
To the foes entanglements and contrivings…
Needs must be met…line upon line,
Here a little, there a little. Glory to glory
Awaits the partakers…and the racers
Who, rule-abiding, set sail to accomplish
Not their own purposes (rather Makers’ supreme!)
Blind and deaf to all but His sights and sounds!
Herein lies the “key of escape”…with attachments
Of joy, peace, love…and true Godly purpose!

Just as lust conceived steals a portion in retreat…
So lust rejected, through the power of the Son,
Alone enables the vessel of ruin…rebuilt to be!
To the Master Potter, give the clay implicitly!

Oh, first parents! I choose to believe bitter weeping
Rewarded your realization of dire consequence
Wrought by your sad, not to be forgotten, mistake!
Little did you know how very dire would be the consequence!
Little did you know that demons would dwell
Within the very grounds of your posterity…
Relentless in their pursuit and drive to multiply,
And categorize man as their possession in abyss!

Second Adam! Do hasten to attend faithless one that I am;
Lopped by satanic influence and oppression!
For the stormy sea of me, can visibly be seen,
In my words penned loquaciously.
Sired by the closeness of the time of the end…
I thus implore You…Your strength to know,
And do consent therein to the way of knowing
That would lead victoriously
To the Wood of Repentance. Amen!

So I saw your site and thought it was pretty cool. I thought I'd contribute one of my poems. God has used this poem to minister to lives of others. Hope you like it.

Prodigal Son

Prodigal son come home
I know things have changed for you and
You’ve been walking through life alone
For a while
Things haven’t gone quite like you’d planned
for them to go
And dreams you’d had your heart set on
Have been trampled on
And spit on
And ripped and torn
Many of your hopes have been shattered
Scattered into the wind and
You’ve been battered
Physically
Emotionally
Mentally
Spiritually
But you need to come home now

Prodigal son come home
I’ve been waiting for you
I was so sad to see you go
But I had to free you
You know
Like the butterfly in the jar
Let it go
If it doesn’t come back to you then it wasn’t yours in the first place
So I let you spread your wings and fly
And told you do or die
You’ll always have a home
Son come home

Prodigal son come home
I know that for a long time
You’ve blamed me for your difficulties
For your problems
For every bad choice and stroke of bad luck
For every negative experience you’ve had
While walking down your chosen path in life
And I know you feel hurt
Betrayed
Abandoned
Unloved
But you are loved and I am here
Waiting to here your voice
Not to gloat or say I told you so
But to embrace you and give you a shoulder to cry on
Give you someone to rely on
Give you something to get by on
Something you can believe in
I know your faith has bee tried and
You’ve spiritually died
But it’s time to come alive
Time to rise from the dirt and dust off the hurt you’ve felt
Cause of the hand life’s delt
It’s time to live
Time to come home
Come on home

Prodigal son come home
You don’t have to waddle with the pigs
Or dig through the mud in search of some rotten morsel
Wondering can it get any worse though
You left home with such riches
Or what you thought would make you rich
And when the answers you thought you had proved wrong
And the friends you thought you had were gone
And depression and self-pity started dragging you along
You remembered your home
It’s time to come home

Prodigal son come home.

Time to watch those hilarious commercials

1st down and 10 to go
Someone pass me the chip tray
5 shot and killed in Chicago yesterday
2nd down and 10 to go
The football soaring through the air like a missile
Thai factory workers making a 1.50 await the lunch whistle
Run left, run right
Hold on to your seat really tight
The Egyptians prepare to close the border
The Iraqis try and maintain some sense of law and order
3 down and goal
The Afghans no wait the Giants pass the ball
Ra Ra re ------ 7.62x39mm shells bounce off the wall
Hear the roar of the crowd
A suicide bomber makes his family proud
A tasty beverage to wash it all down
Fore-closure homes burn all around town
Touchdown!!!!
And 90 million tune-in for the commercials

am I crazy
some may say so
but it shouldn't be

you wanted things to change
so i did things changed
now you look at me I like I'm crazy

Get a clue....
this shouldn't be crazy
at least not this time...

Get over it...
things are ok...
hair grows back

life goes on...
so does everything else
why should this be different

beautiful work^

Here is a Christian poem I wrote about the Holy Spirit:
You are my everything
"You are my shadow, when I'm feeling lonely..you are my sunshine on a cloudy day...my raindrops when there is a drought in my soul, my strong wall when everything seems unsafe..you are my stars in the sky when i need something to count, my dreams when i sleep, my tears when I weep, every word I will speak...when I laugh you will be my funny joke, my rescuer when i choke, you are the rainbow that brings color to my life, my warm breeze on a crisp spring night, the music that i hear the whispers in my ear, when i am thirsty you are my water..my bread when i hunger..everything I smell, everything i touch, taste and see..you are there Inside of me..

I guess I just have one thing to say right now-- Do critics have to be so cruel? Wishing death on an artist seems extreme, to say the least. Yes, I know, the critic who sniped that cries-within should commit suicide, would probably back up a bit if questioned, and insist that such a remark was merely a "joke," yet there's no denying that such so-called criticism hurts and never helps. Keep it constructive and to the point, is what I say.

I'm going to post a poem somewhere soon. This seems to have mutated into a rather broad discussion thread, so I may post a fresh start. Thanks.

a valentine's day poem for my wife:

let us bury all these things which would wound us deeply
in this hardscrabble, hard-won ground. let them die, & in dying, become
seed for sowing, wisdom for reaping, songs for singing
aloud in the night; & in the morning

variously & full of longing & dreams
& awe. that this should be so; & that love is still fragile and beautiful.
no longer new but still surprising – like the sun each morning or stars at night.

virtue of a different kind gives me strength to dance
leaping & lunging in all my narrow awkwardness,
in fear & trembling, with veiled eyes & furrowed brow.
even all this work is as nothing if only you
tell me you love me, or show me with soft kisses & touch.

Hello Techne,
That writing is very beautiful. May God bless it to be a living truth in your relationship. Greater still in the multutudes of the relationships in His body.

His Love
You tell me of your love
but I can't comprehend
All that it this love is
You speak of it in gentle whispers

you shout it with loud thunder
You scream it with all that is
Your love for me for us
for everyone

I hear you speak of it
in the songs birds sing each morn
I hear it in the ocean as it crashes on shore
I see it in the sun rise and set marking another day

What greater time than this
When I remember what you showed me
Your blood and love mingled such
as it dripped down the rugged tree

for you for you dear ones
my love for you
but what more what more can there be
love that broke bounds of even death

you rose and lived and live on
you pour out your love to those who recieve
even when we don't see it or know
you wait with open arms to shower us with your love

this poem doesn't completely describe it
nothing can hold it nothing can completely do it justice
your love Lord Jesus leaves me speachless
even now even with everything I do or will ever do

you love me still you love us still
even though you know me the things I've done and will do
you love me still my Lord
but this is it isn't it your love

reach out let him shower you today
find anew a love that is more than words describe
all that is or was or will be in that love
a truly perfect Love

Come Unto Me

Always in a hurry
Rushing to and fro.
Always in a big, big, big, big hurry,
Not even any particular place to go!
Look at how we rush about!
Trippin’ over our own feet to get out
Of a leisurely walk with out God!

Come unto Me, all you who labor.
Rest alongside your waiting Savior,
And stop that hurryin’, scurryin’
Flurryin’ way of life!

Peace, be still. Wait upon Jehovah!
In quietness, and in confidence, we’ll get over
This hurdle called livin’
That drains us of givin’
Our very best to the Lord!

Come unto Me, all you who have found favor.
Stop, kneel alongside your waiting Savior,
And please stop the hurryin’, scurryin’,
Flurryin’ way of life!

Little one,my dear
My child have no fear
Don't you know I am near
Little one

Don't you know I never leave you
Don't you know I'm always beside you
So what is there to fear because I am right here
Don't you Don't you know

If the sky were to fall and the day were never be again
I would be here right here all the while
ready and waiting just turn and see that I am here
Just say my name and know that I am here

I'm always there for you
I'm always there for you
Oh don't you know
I am closer than the air you breathe
I know every word before you speak
I know every moment now and forever
Just know that I am always always there for you

I've recently tried my hand at rapping. LOL I'm no rapper believe me.
I know very little but it kind of came to me and well sometimes you've got to just go with it.
Anyways... love any feed back you could give me.

The wake up Call
chorus
Don't look away
Don't close your mind
Don't hide away
To what is going on today

verse 1
People like you and me
Friends and family
Dying for the truth to set them free
Lost in the lies of darkness
You can’t, I can’t take this
Won’t stand for it
A generation in hurt
Longing for love to come and change them
To bad they don’t hear it no one tells’m
Other voices shout louder than we know
They put on a show and so
We just take it

Chorus
Don’t look away
don’t close your mind
Don’t hide away
To what is going on today

verse 2
Do you hear me
What I’m saying
Time to wake up no more swaying
Time to run after truth that’s set us free
Wake up church stop sleeping
Be believing forget not who’s deceiving
Start receiving from God above
One who is love
People today are hurting
They're screaming bleeding and some dying
you know I’m not lying, do you stand up and say
You know its not going to be okay
Unless you rise up and speak up
I know of one to fill your cup
You don’t want to miss it
He’s Jesus Christ God’s own Son
Time rise up and let’m hear it
A city on a hill fully lit

Chorus
Don’t look away
Don’t close your mind
Don’t hide away
To what is going on today

end
Wake up, wake up
Say that’s enough
Wake up wake up
Even when it might tough
wake up wake up
better not turn away if it gets rough
Time for change time to rearrange
Come everybody lets wake up

ok... LOL

Here's something I wrote a while back... enjoy.
The surrender
Waiting to get to the end of myself
Waiting for the moment when I find no more strength on my own
Waiting for that moment when I surrender me
When I surrender all of me

chorus
Here I am with all I have
Here I am with all of me
I can’t go on without you
I can’t live another moment without you
Here I am Here I am Jesus
Have all of me

This song of surrender is all I have left to offer
This song of surrender is all I have
I can’t go on another day another moment this way
I’m tired of the games I’m tired of being half way
So today that’s gonna change as I find myself at the end of me

Chorus

Lord I’ve grown tired and weary I can’t take another step
But when I surrender all I am when I surrender everything
No holding back no clinging to anything at all
There is no going back when I find that I am free
And I am running after you Jesus I am seeking you with all of me

(chorus end )

Lord Jesus… I raise up my hands in surrender
I lay it all down at your feet
Lord Jesus oh Lord Jesus
I surrender all of me yes I surrender all of me
Lord that’s when you set me free

today i started thinking about the day
when i'll see'm face to face
to hear his voice say my name
what that'll be

before the bema seat
called to stand to be judged for what I've done
not for sin but I've done for HIm
I thought of everyone there

nothing would be hidden then
nothing at all no secrets here
i thought of who'd see
would my friends be there beside me

what would they think when they saw'm
in the moment we're all called to heaven
i know I may not see this day
but i guess sometimes your mind wanders away

to such things at times its fun to imagine
what it'll be like
in the moment in that day
when we see'm face to face
