Yes I love those kids Trish! OK the retreat was great the theme was called unexpected places. They had room games, each room was a team and when we got there after dinner we had to go on a scavenger hunt using three clues form the Bible that led us to a place in the Hotel that had some sort of saying taped to it, we had to write it down and get the next three clues, the first 5 teams to get all five things wins that round. Then the next morning the game was a game where they had to find pictures that started with the letters UNEXPECTED PLACES and tear them out of a magazine and tape them up on a wall that next to a letter that was already up on the wall. The winners won some shopping money to go to the outlet malls near by. Then through out the time there were drawings for door prizes. But it wasn't all about games there was also a lesson time and time for testimony and fellowship. The lesson was taken from 2 Kings 5:1-5, 14 The girl who changed her world. This little maid went to the profit to ask how her master, Naaman could be healed from leperacy. This little girl was from a hurting place, taken captive, away from all she knew now living in another place as a servant taking care of this leper. And had to do whatever his wife wanted. Yet, she helped others change their world instead of becoming self adsorbed and focused on her own pain. Her first reaction was to get Naaman some help, some spiritual help. She got her truthful inspiring testimony together and reached out. She had humility, the opposite of pride and the ability to stop and listen. She had a testimony; are people drawn to the fact that Jesus has changed your lie or are they confused about your Christianity? Caring for one another, having compassion and being competent in your ability to reach out is important in changing your world and the world of others. So Naaman healing must have affected his wife which in turn could have affected how she treated the little maid. No matter what situation you are in or what unexpected place God has led you to, God has a plan! He can and wants to use and your situation for his glory.

It was a good time! My SIL needs a lot of prayer!! She found out she had a tumor in her brain just before her mom died. She was suppose to go to the doctor on the fifth of this month. Yet, they called her and wanted her to come in earlier and have a MRI done and see a neurologist. So she did that on the 31st. Come to find out she has these tumors that are mostly in the front of her brain and are about 10 millimeters in size and about 1 centimeter around. They are affecting her vision and giving her horrible headaches and sinus problems. Just making her sick all around. anyhow she has to have brain surgery and they want to do it differently, instead of cutting into her skull, they want to go through her nose. They are pushing her to get a living will as there is a 50/50 chance she won't make it! She is so scared and doing all of this alone, and really doesn't know what to do. I wish I could be out in CA to stand by her through it all. As soon as her insurance approves the surgery she'll have it. She has three boys, a 13 1/2 year old, an 7 year old, and a 5 year old. I am not positive about the younger two's age but they are about that old. She is deaf and fears loosing her site even if she does survive the surgery. I can't imagine the fear her oldest son is having. She was relaying all of this to me the other day through her Side Kick and a relay service but kept loosing connection so she had her son call on his cellphone and relay the rest of it to me. I had to tell her that I'd e-mail what I had to say to her as it was too painful to have a her son be the middle man, I didn't feel it was fair to him to have to do that. This conversation took place while they were sitting in a parking lot and at one time she was so upset that she got out out of the van and he son just talked to me and told me how he has for years had dreams of him mom dying and now he is so scared. This family has gone through so much. There is no father in either of her children's life as they younger two have a different father than the oldest and both men are not what you'd call men who can be counted on for much of anything. My heart aches for them all. After the conversation I had to go and tell Robert about his sister and then talk to his dad as well, it is so sad. I'd greatly appreciate any and all prayers on this! A great thing happened yesterday! Yesterday was my birthday and normally it is just like any other day, I usually get cards before hubby goes to work and that's it. Well anyhow the day continued like always and as I was cooking a roast in the oven and getting ready to peel some potatoes and then pick up RJ form marching band practice. When Robert asks if I wanted to go out to dinner. I said I already had a roast in the oven, and he said we'll eat it tomorrow. So we all as a family went out to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory! Even more cool, as I bowed my head to silently give thanks, Robert says wait I want in on the prayer too. so in public in front of the world we prayed together as a family too! It was awesome, and the food was great! I'll take any little piece of hope I can get! Praise the LORD! Now I have got to get moving here if I want to be at work on time, yea for Friday!

Wow, Dee Dee! That's AMAZING! God is answering our prayers for your husband and your marriage. It's so sad about your sil though. I can't imagine being in that place.

Dee, that really is amazing! I'm so happy for you that Robert is starting to show interest there. This sounds horrible, but I've never made a habit of praying over meals -- I think because of the ridicule I got when I was first saved. I know I need to do that now. It's long past the time when I should have gotten over it I'm so sorry to hear about your sil . . I hope you can email her with some words of encouragement and hope.

Thanks for the birthday wish Trish! As far as Bambi (my SIL) is concerned, I have been trying to e-mail her sidekick daily with scripture and positive thoughts, one of my main concerns is that I am not so sure about her salvation. So I will continue to look for scripture I can send her, as she seems to appreciate the things I sent so far. I know as a Christian once things are going well and we give God the glory for it, Satan gets mad and tries to work overtime. Well he is really working on Robert, I don't know what the problem is. He's acting upset with me and I don't know why, he even slept on the couch last night. I asked him what was wrong and he just said nothing, so I was left feeling guilty about something I don't even know about. Actually I have an idea, yet at the same time, if I think about it, it is me who should be upset. I can go on and on about his actions lately all which have been affected by his drinking and distorted view of events, but what will that help? Please pray for the rift that is put between us right now.

HI Maggie and Trish! Been thinking on a lot of things and soon will have something good to post! Today we have a field trip to the dump! Wow! I wonder how that will go... Today is also the boy's 15th birthday! We'll have a bbq and cake and ice cream tonight. I am so excited I can't wait to see him get the present I got him. It is the very thing he wanted and better! God has really had his hand in this! I wanted to get him this PSP but it is so expensive. It is the only thing he wanted and he doesn't ask for much, he is doing so well in school and is trying to get along with his sister most of the time. So anyhow my aunt sent me some money to go towards it and my friend actually found it online used for a lot cheaper and her son, who is my son's best friend will mod it for him. I am so excited. Then on Saturday we are going to surprise him and take him out to the Hard Rock Cafe with his friends form school and he has no clue. He knows something is up but not what it is. I'm loving it!
