LLisa, I just can't believe the way you terrorize your children. Your taste for mischief and trouble have no limits, do they? Poor Timothy!

Hi Maggie! Good to hear that you are doing good for the most part! I am getting tired myself. Not sure just how much longer I will be online this evening? Probably until I get bored and too tired myself.

That was funny. I have never heard of a kid taking it that way before. It kind of reminds me of ESL students in college trying to get the hang of idioms and phrases. I remember one confused guy going around asking what "mean beans" meant. It was for an assignment and none of us could figure out what "mean beans" where either. the poor guy, looked at his homework and saying that it was supposed to be a common saying that Americans were supposed to know. None of us knew what "mean beans" were thought. Finally, one of us asked what exactly the question was. Finally he read the whole thing, "That doesn't mean beans." He though that "mean beans" was the only important part of that idiom figuring we could use "mean beans" in other sentences. Anyway, I love hearing idioms from other countries. Most of them are quite obvious what they mean. I think that they are interesting. I think that I need to go. I just heard Caleb say to Timothy sternly, "Timothy, Don't. Mom doesn't want us to change our bodies. I don't know why, but she doesn't."

Wow! you MUST be a hs mom! I just reread my last post and found out that I slaughtered the story with poor typing, and youu still got it. About the body parts: the kids are building a lego town sort of thing based on animal crossing. So they each have their own little houses and shops that trade things. One of the shops that they wanted to have the other day was a "body shop" where they can trade or buy body parts for their lego person. this was rather disturbing to me. They told me that because I had called them down for squabbling. The problem was basically that they where taking on too big of a project without having a plan for how it was going to be carried out. I told them where to start and I, and I sized down the project. The body shop was one of the things that I told them not to do at this point. it worked and they were doing well until Timothy wanted to re-open the body shop.

I LOVE the idea of the body shop! They're pushing you out of your box, Ellie Mae!

Howdy Lisa, I saw your latest blog entry and just had to comment: We bought a van off Ebay! It's a '94 Dodge Ram van. It's in Illinois, so we'll have to drive over and get it, but we got it for $800 so we didn't have to go take out a loan on it. (Big sigh of relief!) We just have to sell our other van now. The motor is great in it, it's just the body that's falling apart. He replaced the starter and it hasn't had any more problems. You mean that they are not gonna box it up and ship it UPS?

I was finally getting tired and said, "Wow, Jay, you're making me get my exercise today!" and he answered, "That's okay--you were looking a little chubby." Hi Lisa, I was just reading your blog again, gotta love children, right? Yeah, after I told my husband about what he said, I told him that we're going to have to make sure that when Jay gets a little older that he doesn't say that kind of thing to his girlfriend. Your mother can't break up with you over a statement like that, but a girlfriend might.

ORIGINAL: magdaleine My boyfriend, whose English wasn't as good as it should be, meant to compliment me on how well I did things like cook and sew, so he told me that I was very homely. Oops! I never used to be as good with words as I am now. When I was in my young 20's, a friend of mine lost some weight and I commented on how they didn't look as fat as they used to.

ROFLOL! Did you know that he meant it as a compliment at the time? I think I got upset enough at his comment, and him so bewildered, that the correct message finally got through.
