Thank you, Mike.

Maggie, I enjoyed our time as well. You know, if I didn't have the cp, the weight might not have been such a bother. I had a turning poiint where my heart really realized that if I weren't ready for the nursing home, I had to eat to live, not live to eat.. I had to decide if my life was worth living without the enjoyment of food. I also prayed a desperate prayer for God to help me.
It surprises me to say, I guess He must be helping. Even when I allow myself treats, it hasn't been difficult to eat reasonably.
Few people have noticed, but I'm not expecting to drop oodles

Wish I could lose some weight. I have serious discipline problems when it comes to food.

Me three. As of March a year ago, I had lost nearly 60 pounds. As of today, I've gained back nearly 25 of those. I'm very discouraged and have given up trying for now.

Maggie, please get your grip and stop gaining. You won't be sorry. I can't even get weighed. I'm just watching portions using whole grain cereal for my sweet tooth. If I blow it one day, I eat less the next. As I stress, if I wasn't feeling better and moving easier--though slowly--I might give up.

I'm feeling sooo sad. Don is back in the hospital, the cough again. I knew it would come to this again. I was scheduled to go visit him yesterday, but my aide had a flat tire. I think they took her off my case, which is fine with me.
Nate got 4 free tickets to the Reds game tonight. Both boys, a neighbor and a school friend went. Nate promised to be careful, just for me and said in spite of his behavior at times, he loves me.

I'd hoped he would stay home and take us to the hospital. True, Don caused us much pain, but I'm still tied to
him. He treated me better than I've ever been treated at times and in ways. I'm sure he feels alone. My heart aches.
I recall thinking I might not have an 18th wedding anniiversary, but this August will be our 23rd, if he makers it

Could you get paratransit to go see Don, or do you have to schedule too far in advance? I hope Nate will take you tomorrow. I'll be praying!

Hello, friends.

Nate visited his dad today; Pat also stopped by with Tim after taking him on an appointment. Hw's on oxygen and still not with it. Pat said he kept calling Tim 'Bill'. Bill was Don's brother, by adoption He died 28 years ago.
Sigh, Lord willing. I'm going tomorrow afternoon. Did I say his COPD/emphasemia has been flaring up and he was depleted of oxygen. He also doesn't take care of himself. He has the right not to.

Yesteday I did get to Wal-mart. It and other places not -on the Flex(free, community) bus route have to be scheduled two weeks, exactly, in advance. Luckly the hospital is on the bus route. So I went on and got my
haircut--it was much needed. I bought a couple of new tees in a bigger size while I was there and a few groceries.
I had an African aide today. I mean she's only been in the US for seven years. It started off kinda shakey. She immediately called the office to protest the 20-mile drive and
"besides cannot take this kind of case. This lady do nothing." "She do nothing."

....meanwhile, I was thinking what I ought do....scream get out and be sweaty and in pj's, should there be a crises with Don....or rise above myself? So, I used my non-verbal skills to the max and she was quick to catch pn....
soon I found myself stark naked, in the shower being suds by another stranger. (as Deb said, you get used tol baring your goods). i was lost in my thoughts when she said, "Miss , Maaasha, you are a beautiful woman!"

I said nothing, hoping I knew what she meant, but thinking her timing was off. Perhaps it's a cultural thing
As long as nothing weird happened, I decided to ignore the comment.

LOL! I'd take it as a compliment, Marsha! No one would ever call me beautiful when my clothes are off.

Oh my, Marsha! . . . But I think you handled it very well . . . . . I'd probably be so shocked I wouldn't even think of the obvious til later

I hope you get to see Don tomorrow, and hope he's doing better. Sure glad Nate went to see him.

I've never been called beautiful while in the nude by a woman.

Men,...well, won't even go there, but only my husband since 1984 and no one in his/her right mine would call me beautiful since I gave birth.
Maybe in Africa, they like a lot of flab.

Ben's right.

But I hope they won't send her again!

Hope you'll get to see Don soon!

I believe that was her way apologizing for her initial reaction. The timing was just off. It's funny.

The aide today was much better. She will be back tomorrow.

Now I have a problem. She worked just as hard as my evening aide.
Basically, I now have two good women who want to be my full-time aide.

The one I had today was layed off from a factory, she took a pay cut. Am I wrong to think she's history if she hears of a better paying job?

I did see Don. While he was a lot more alert, I asked if he knew who Bill was. No recollection whatsoever. Eith he truly has no memory of his late brother or he's not all bac k yet. He will be released to the nursing home tomorrow.

Oh Marsha, that's sad. I hope it's just that Don isn't completely together yet but will be soon.

As for the aide who took a paycut, it could be that she'll leave if a better offer comes up but then again, she may discover how rewarding it is to be an aide and stick around. If the women are equally good and you get to choose who's your full time aide, then go with what your gut says, rather than your head.

Me too.

Congratulations on your weight loss, Marsha. Well done!

I'm with Bill. Nobody calls me beautiful, even with my clothes ON!

I hope that Don gets better soon.
