Our kids are not really animal lovers at all, and they're pretty young, so I think we'll skip Animal Kingdom - though I personally would like to see it!

I think going to only Magic Kingdom will make the days more relaxing - not having to try to squeeze everything into one day. And make it possible to do the cinderella breakfast - you really wouldn't have time for that if you were only there one day.

My family just went to the travel agency and found out alot of cool info about our upcoming trip to Disneyworld.
We are doing the meal plan and have already reserved restaurants our travel agent recomended such as club mickey, and some places that have Character dining. We are staying in this really cool hotel that has a fish shaped swimming pool, and going for 8 days,7 nights.

We will be there from march 4th through the 12th.

Would it be worth it to do one of the water parks? Which would be the best bet based on our kids ages - 7, 5, almost 3 and infant?

Would it even be worth it for me and the baby to go along to the waterpark?

It's been a while since I went to any of the water parks, but I seem to remember that they all had areas for younger kids. I don't know if they still have it, but Typhoon Lagoon used to have an area where you could snorkel with tropical fish, which was pretty neat. Another one that was nice was Fort Wilderness. It wasn't as popular since it didn't have the flashy rides and stuff, but it still had slides and things like that. Just keep in mind that April *can* still be cool in Florida, so you might want to hold off on buying tickets to water parks until you get here and see how the weather's going to be. Most years, it's gotten warmed up by then, but 2 years ago, we had a freeze in April.

Tammy ~ my husband and I are going to Disney World in June, so I am doing my trip research now. I know on your blog you said you were/are disappointed about not being able to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table. One review site I am reading say that people have been able to get reservations in a much shorter time than six months. Perhaps if you try calling again something will open up.

I have tried calling again. The man I spoke with was not encouraging about getting a spot. He said they do sometimes receive cancellations, but that they get hundreds of calls about reservations so it would be highly unlikely that I would happen to phone at exactly the right time. I might keep trying though, just in case.

Is it a bad thing that my Disney World vacation is only two months and six days away and I have still not booked a hotel, bought our park tickets, nor made restaurant reservations? I keep putting these things off since I don't have a big block of time where I can do everything at once.

Catherine, book your hotel ASAP.

Here at DisneyLand there gone months in advance if you want in park or close to park accomadations. tickets are easy to get.. reservations.. make them NOW NOW NOW. I book ours the max time I can ahead.

What restaurants at World are there that need reservations?

We just went to Land last week :)

Catherine, you can do that all over the phone in one call. It is spring break and while most people have already had their break, some are still on break and it might be crowded. Do you know which resturaunts you want to go to? We liked going to the breakfast buffets because you get more for your money, especially with the new dining plan they rolled out this year. It is a rip off compared to the plans they have had in the past.

Some people also use a service called The Garden Grocer (I think that is what they are called.) They deliver meals right to your room and are not expensive. Somebody told us about that last time we were there and we are going to try that next time.

When on DisneyWorld's website pretty much any sit down restaurant says "reservations recommended." I want to get in to a few of the buffets with characters, so I wanted to make reservations for those to make sure we can go and don't have to spend hours waiting for a table.

Well, thanks to your encouragement I finally booked my Disney World stuff.

Here is what I think about the price:

We are going to eat at Tusker House Restaurant, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's Buffet, and Crystal Palace.

I hope we have a really, really good time...

Holy Jeez are you guys planning on spending lots of money?

Those buffets are listing at 15-35 a person, I would assume the 35 is the adult end?

We only ever eat at Blue Bayou in Disneyland, we bring water and fruit snacks in the park with us and occasionally will break down and get a churro. Dinner for two w Fillet Mignon for both, split a desert and I usually get the souvenir cup because it has a light up toy on it that we put on Jeremy's hat, knocks us back $120 easily. Add that to ticket prices and any thing I find to buy and we are spending alot of money for 1 day. But I love Disneyland and would go every day if we could

Well, we are staying at a Disney Value Resort so we can have the Extra Magic Hours ($109 a night), we bought the lowest of the dining plans (one table meal, one quick-service meal, and one snack - it is $40 per person per day), and bought four days worth of tickets with park hopper option. Besides for that I told Matt that I don't want to spend hardly anything else while there.

4 days till we leave!!!

Can I bring my Graco travel system (stroller with car seat in it) for our newborn and gate check it at the airport? Or does it have to be the stroller only?

Also - can I bring that same stroller to use at Disney or will there be problems because I can't collapse it?

Since I recently joined the forum, I must say how quickly the time has passed since you began planning your trip!!

I'm from California and know Disneyland/California very well and it's been my dream vacation to go to Disney Florida so I will try and not be jealous

I didn't read the whole thread so I'll just hope that you can slide down one water ride for the missionary PLZ!!!!

Tammy, I think you can bring the travel system and have it gate checked. You'll just have to take it apart and have both pieces tagged. Or if your flight is not totally booked you might be able to take the car seat on with you. I would double check with the airline but when I flew with Bug at Easter the couple in front of me said they gate checked 2 car seats and a stroller on previous flights. Maybe double check with your particular airline? Not collapsing the stroller won't be a problem in the park, there are always tons of strollers outside of any attraction you can't bring them into and the park rentals don't collapse anyway. I'd put a bright ribbon or something else that makes it stand out though so that no one grabs it thinking it is theirs. It might be a bigger problem if you are using Disney transportation. We have never had that experience (can't wait to take Bug though!), but the monorail etc. are pretty crowded. Hope you and your family have a great time!

Yeah, my concern was the monorail. You have to take that or the ferry to get to Magic Kingdom right? And according to my Touring Plan it calls for taking the Monorail from Frontierland to Mickey's Toontown and I'm not sure how that would work. I could technically collapse it if I took the car seat out of it, but that would be a pain and it's still pretty big collapsed so I'm not sure how well that would fit. Would I be better off using an umbrella stroller? I don't know! I like all the space under my stroller to put stuff (snacks, cameras, etc) and the umbrella stroller would likely be more limited.

Oh - and what do you do with all your stuff when you're on the rides? This won't likely happen with Jacob being there (or can you carry an infant onto some of the rides - like It's a Small world, etc?). But, if everyone wants to ride, what do you do with the cameras, backpacks, etc?

When we've gone with our Disney pals they have a 3y/o and bring her stroller some of the time. Dad puts all the stuff they need in a backpack and he carries that onto rides. They don't leave ANYTHING on the stroller outside the rides that they can't live without. It's not worth the risk.

I believe on the monorail they have an area on atleast one car to accomadate strollers. Just like the train/rail going from parking into the park itself, certain cars are bigger or have wider aisles to allow for strollers and kids stuffs.

Our biggest rule though is not to bring anything you don't want lost/stollen. There are also a small amount of lockers available first come first serve that may be an option if you are taking food/drinks in to store in.

Small World is your best friend with a tiny tot or baby who needs a break or a nap or just some nice a/c time. Parents too! It's the longest ride, it's indoors, it's got a/c and kids pass out from the boat, being tired and the repetive song. Which will be in your head for HOURS after riding.

I don't know if Orlando has it but the other longish quiet ride is Storybook land. It's a small boat ride through various stories with all the houses in miniature. Again, time waster and parent time outer.

ALL the Disney staff is GREAT about helping out and getting you where you need/want to go so don't be afraid to ask for help.

So you can wear backpacks onto the rides?

And I can bring my baby on some rides? Which ones would I be allowed to bring him on?
