How Much Will You Spend On A Bra?

ofa23 -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/19/2007 10:37:11 PM)

I usually get my bras from Target on sale and I spend less than $15.00.

PrudentWife -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/19/2007 10:42:06 PM)

Before I wore nursing bras, I never spent more than $8, I always buy bras I find on clearance. I still try to find clearances or sales, but I think I spent about $14 each on a couple of nursing bras.

isaacsmom -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/19/2007 10:55:30 PM)

Up to $50. It's hard to find a good, supportive 34DDD. Or any 34DDD at all.

p31woman -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/19/2007 10:59:25 PM)

I used to splurge on VS bras which run about $40. I still would if I had the money because they lasted for years. The last bra I bought was $9.99 at Target.

i will spend whatever I have to in order to feel supported :)

spitzu -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 1:38:30 AM)

I usually spend about $20-25 for a good bra.

TheSkylark -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 2:16:10 AM)

I live in the Midwest, so stuff is cheaper here than in big cities on the coasts. I generally buy bras $20 and under.

baabaasheep2006 -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 7:18:57 AM)

Depending on where i get it as i have now gone up to a 40f [:@] from a 44e as i keep losing weight. It can range from £12 (local superstore like Tesco's or Asda (Walmart) or a underwear shop about £30.

Sideways -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 7:28:24 AM)

Pre-nursing I was a total VS girl, spending about $40 per bra. They were good quality, though.

dH always says to go quality over cheap when it comes to clothing (and no, the VS bras weren't the fancy, frilly bras - just really good fits).

dH usually spends over $100 for his dress shoes, but he has a lot of trouble finding comfy dress shoes, he wears them about 6 days a week, and they last for 3 years. It's worth it.

miasma -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 8:49:25 AM)

Five bucks - and I felt like I splurged.

Bookaholic -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 9:25:12 AM)

I will spend whatever is necessary to feel supported. Usually I buy from Cacique and it runs me anywhere from $25 on sale to $45.

HisCovenant -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/20/2007 10:04:10 AM)

I am an "Under 60" gal.

Normally, I buy VS which run around $45. I used to try to buy when I had a coupon, but found that I was buying too many and wasting money. Now, I buy when I need them, and generally the coupon has expired [:@]. On a bi-yearly basis, I actually save money by paying regular price. [:o] Go figure...

raspberry331 -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 10:45:36 AM)

Way under $30.00 for me. I buy mine at Wal-Mart or Ross.

doinkdom -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 10:53:49 AM)

When I was single and money was only "mine" to spend...awe those were the days[sm=popsigh.gif]

Anyway, I would hit the VS clearance sales and get two for $25. And, they would last all forever, very well made and very supportive - I mean how else do those "angels" get cleavage, right?[:D]

Now [8|] well, it's wally-world $5.99-8.99 or nothing and believe me...nothing is not good.[;)]

Once in a great while, I stumble across a great sale at one of the outlet stores and I get a really well made one or two, but that's like once a year or so.

raspberry331 -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 11:14:37 AM)

I hear people talking about Wallyworld on here every so often. So, what exactly is Wallyworld? Is it a store or is it a nickname for a cheap store?

miasma -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 11:22:37 AM)

That's what people call Wal-Mart.

The last few bras I bought...let's see, Big Lots? And TJ Maxx.

gettnthere -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 11:37:13 AM)

wow, i don't even know!
i haven't bought a bra in about 6 years. don't laugh! i usually wear sports bras. my mama hates it, but i just feel more comfortable in them because i'm an athlete, and when i was competing in college i felt like all i ever did was practice so i ALWAYS wore a sports bra!
anyway, now that i'm grown and married i figured that it's time to invest in some quality underwear. the bras that my mama bought for me 6 years ago were from wal-mart. they're all out of wack now. in fact, they have been for quite a while.
i imagine it won't be hard to find some. i'm just an 'a' cup [sm=aside.gif]

PrudentWife -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 12:29:10 PM)

Years ago someone have me a gift certificate to VS. I bought 1 bra there, and it didn't last any longer than a Target bra.

Where do you all find very supportive sports bras? Since having the baby, I'm up to a D cup. Regular sports bras don't cut it anymore. I wear an underwire bra, and a too small sports bra over it on those rare occasions I do Tae Bo. Otherwise I walk for exercise and don't need special boob equipment.

Georgia-Peach -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 12:44:26 PM)

I voted under $30...I have always been able to find bras that I really like (though sometimes it takes awhile) under $30. I have never liked the expensive bras like at VS or places like those. My current bras our nursing bras by Gillian O'Malley which I found at Target for 16.99 if I am not mistaken. They are comfortable and pretty, they don't look like nursing bras to me. I know for me being a D-cup before and after pregnancy I need a bra that is going to support the girls well and sometimes I get closer the $30 mark then I like, but if it does the job properly its worth it to me.

zoebob -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 12:48:11 PM)

I'm in the $5 sports bra crowd. That's all I wear. I do actually have one regular bra that cost under $10 because I had a dress that had a little more open neck and you could see the straps of my sports bra. I did recently find some at Sam's club that have the straps further out and are thinner: I think they are by Bailey's or something like that. They were still cheap: 3/$15 or something like that. The ones I was getting at Walmart were 2/$5

tiffanyctd -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 1:31:22 PM)

I am *ahem* well blessed, to a point that there are no stores in town that carry my size (44G), so I have to order them online. I've gotten a few on clearance for $20, but most of mine are in the $40-50 range. The most expensive one I ever got was $70, and it was the prettiest, most comfortable bra I have ever worn.

I never did get the whole sport's bra thing - I end up with a uni-boob. How annoying.[>:]

dramagirl4God -> RE: How Much Will You Spend On A Bra? (6/21/2007 2:43:55 PM)

All my bras are very expensive, but there is no such thing as a pretty bra in my size. The most annoying part to me is I can't just walk into a store to buy a bra, I have to order them online, but then 34 I is not exactly a common size [:@]. Last bra I bought was about $45, and I felt good about the purchase (although it still doesn't quite fit right, the straps are too long [8|]).

Hanes makes a good molded cup sports bra with wide firm elastic rather than an underwire. I'm a C, but I'm very fibrocystic, so I need a lot of support. The Hanes bras do that without the underwires that press on the cysts on the sides of my breasts. You can get them online, or there are outlet stores out there.
