Did they say who might be taking Jasons place in the group? So many groups are bringing in their children. I was wondering about Gerald's son. He can sing very well from what I have been told.

My oldest son, Benjamin, is turning sixteen next week, so he's still got some schooling to do, and he's really too shy to want to be on the platform... but he is very talented, if I do say so myself!

Greater Vision Kids - Go & Tell CD - Features the voices of Ben, Avery, and Casey Wolfe, Reagan and Riley Griffin, and Abbie and Jonathon Waldroup singing 10 brand-new songs from the pen of Rodney Griffin for kids of ALL ages!

Songs Include: Creation Station, Don't Make A Monkey Out Of Me, Let Them Go, March, Do You Hear The Cry?, The Love Above, He's Alive, A Child, Sing In Your Storm, Go And Tell

From some of those titles, it looks like it will be a lot of fun!

This isn't the one the DE did years ago, is it? "I'm no kin to a monkey; a monkey's no kin to me?" I'd love to have their version of it, but I also thought it would make a *great* children's song. Not sure of the title, though...

He's got his eye on a pickup truck, but he's got to get his "graduated" license before we cross that bridge. He's been saving his mowing money for several years, so we'll see how close he gets to the purchase price!

OK, I'm stupid & didn't read the whole thing. "Brand new from the pen of Rodney" kinda answers my question, doesn't it?

It's on the Dixie Echoes' 40th Anniversary Vol. 2 compilation CD. I think it's still available: http://dixieechoes.com/store.html

Gerald, by chance does ben sing Tenor?

We will see y'all Sat. night. Will the families make it over? We have a few folks meeting at Tony's BBQ about 4:30 to eat prior to concert. Would be glad for y'all to join us. I know that is close to sound check time but would love to have y'all join us.

Gerald, I wanted to say just moments after you posted this, but I couldn't remember the word, but now I have, lol is:

Yeah, but you are BIASED lol!

The bolded word was the word I couldn't think of! My little brain kept thinking "prejudiced"!

No. If Ben were to someday decide to be a singer, I think he'd be a baritone. His voice is pretty low for his age.

I'm afraid I'll have to skip the barbeque, since we'll be setting up about that time, but we'll see you at the auditorium.

I can tell you from experience (both professional and personal) that he will have at least three fender benders before he graduates high school, so I hope the pickup has wooden bumpers.

My daughter once hit a lady's car in the rear at a traffic light. The reason: "The light turned green and she didn't move."

Each of my daughters had an accident where they rear-ended another car. Both of the accidents were extremely minor, but they learned what they needed to and neither have had an accident since then!

There is hope--I didn't!

But I'm the extremely cautious type (when I'm behind the wheel).

And, I didn't start driving until I was in college.

NO, you're NOT stupid! You just got in a hurry like a lot of us and just kinda skimmed over it! Now you know that Rodney wrote them all! (And I bet you won't forget it!!!!)

If my memory serves me right, I remember that Dale Shelnut did a song about monkeys. Dale would let you know very quickly, in a funny way, that he was no monkey.

That helps.

Another time our daughter ran over her boyfriend's motorcycle, and blamed it on him for parking in the driveway.

He should have known to park on the parkway and drive on the driveway.

Since I can't find the thread I was looking for, I will post this here.

Jason Waldroup's last concert with Greater Vision will be August 2nd POSSIBLY in Morristown, Tn. NOT CONFIRMED as yet. Keep that in mind. That is the plan if all goes well.
More about GV later.

Thanks, Santa. I was kinda hopin' it may be a First Baptist/Atlanta. But that's selfish on my part. I'm eager to have the final concert confirmed so that I can make plans to be there.

I understand renovations are being done at FBC, Morristown, so I think that is the delay in confirming location.

I don't have the CD cover with me (just my MP3), so I can't check this for sure, but I believe Dottie Rambo wrote "I Just Came to Talk To You Lord" on GV's latest CD, Everyday People. It's a beautiful song with very powerful lyrics.

And I didn't realize she wrote "Sheltered In The Arms of God." I have always LOVED that song!
