Got my tickets yesterday for Greater Vision Concert May 22 in Rome. Donna I'm sure you'll be there.

ORIGINAL: GVfan I don't have the CD cover with me (just my MP3), so I can't check this for sure, but I believe Dottie Rambo wrote "I Just Came to Talk To You Lord" on GV's latest CD, Everyday People. It's a beautiful song with very powerful lyrics. And I didn't realize she wrote "Sheltered In The Arms of God." I have always LOVED that song! She did write that song.

Rome will be the better if you are a GV Fan. They are the only one on the program so they will get to sing a lot longer.

Once you've been there once, you'll come back every year if you can. That's why it always sells out in advance. It's a unique experience... and that's not "ad talk". I can't think of another event exactly like it anywhere. I've tried the last 3 years and things have either come up at work or I've been on a mission trip! But I know we had a great time when you had the concert 'out in the field' but I'm sure it's even better now!!!

That was when Gerald had the fanfest at a park outside in a field. Went to several of those but since he moved it to Nov. can't go anymore.

Nov has been the main reason I haven't been able to make it as well. The first year or so Alicia was in school, then there was big projects at work before we reached year end and this past year I was off in Nov to go on a mission trip. I understand why it was moved and I'm so glad it has been a huge success but I hate it's at a time that it's really hard for me to make it work. Santa I think the first time I ever saw you may have been 'in the field'.

PraiseFest is the most wonderful Southern Gospel event my husband and I have ever experienced! It is so uplifting, worshipful, fun, refreshing, encouraging, etc. I could go on and on. We attended PraiseFest for the first time the same year we experienced NQC for a first. We loved NQC but if I could only go to one event (NQC or PraiseFest), I'd choose PraiseFest everytime! We have not been able to attend PraiseFest the past 3 years due to a timing conflict with my current job assignment. However, I have very fond memories of the years we attended and look forward to the day when we can attend again. Gerald and the Greater Vision team do a wonderful job hosting this event. Mike Speck, with Stan Whitmire at the keyboard, create a very worshipful atmosphere. You get to enjoy great music from several groups, great preaching, and lots of good humor! I thank God for Greater Vision's willingness to sacrifice the hours and headaches required to host such a wonderful event! Just another example of their servant's spirit! As far as the timing of this event, I understand timing conflicts because we experienced that some ourselves. However, the November weather and the slower pace with less vacationers in the area help me enjoy this event even more. You can get to any restaurant you want. You can go shopping without spending lots of time trapped in traffic on the highway. The only thing I can think of that would make this event more enjoyable is if you could experience it with some of your friends &/or family. Keep up the great work Gerald!

Are you an Okie? I was born in Oklahoma City and moved to Georgia when I was nine. Thanks for the write-up of praisefest. So you'd chose Praisefest if you could only do ONE??? WOW! I can hardly wait to go to my first one! I just wish my husband would go, but since he won't take the time off work, I'm planning to take a lady friend that is a new Christian (she was saved about 5 years ago....and I call that "new".) Sounds like this will be great for her, too!

Yes, I'm an okie.....well, actually I'm an okie at heart at the moment because I'm currently living in Texas. Yes, you are in for a real treat with PraiseFest. I hope you love it ever bit as much as I did and even more! My advice is to go expecting a blessing and you will walk away filled and overflowing! It is a wonderful experience!
