Qtman, Per your request,
I have posted a playable Mp3 file of BECAUSE THEY GAVE at
my blog...at a HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA post.

Should be able to find it HERE
...or at my blog link in my signature below.

got the title right this time...pj

Orders keep coming from our friends here at The Forums.
Thanks guys!
My KATHY, and I have now mailed actual copies of the I'LL FOLLOW Cd to 14 different states in the USA, and 1 foreign country (Iraq).

IF you want your copy...just email me at:

pauljackson7@sbcglobal.net ...or PM me here in The Forums.
Send me your address and phone #...and I will send you your copy
by first class US Mail (people have received them in 2-3 days).
I will pay the S/H for you...and include an invoice for $15 with the Cd.

MORE IMPORTANTLY...

Stop by the LINK (HERE) above, and be blessed by this tribute to our troops. I just had a Lt.Col. stationed in Iraq leave a wonderful comment...ABOUT THIS SONG..and about The Prophets. He actually JUST received his Prophets' I'LL FOLLOW Cd...in IRAQ How great is that?!
I would appreciate it, if some of my friends from The Forums would start praying for him. Read his comment at my blog and leave a word of encouragement for him. It's 110 degrees there...he is 55 years old...and a great singer and patriot!

Hope you had a great 4th of July...GOD BLESS AMERICA!

PJ / THE PROPHETS

I really do wish that some more of you would take the time to come by my blog today, and leave a comment to encourage LTC Forrester, who is serving now in Iraq...and listening to The Prophets Cd...and sharing BECAUSE THEY GAVE, with other soldiers there.

Ed Hill himself, left a comment yesterday. Come check it out. This man is helping preserve our freedom. Thanks!

PJ

Thanks to those of you who have posted a word of encouragement (at my blog) to Lt Col Forrester, serving in Iraq.

Also, a big THANK YOU to so many of you that have ordered a Prophets' Cd from me over the last few days. Kathy and I have now shipped Cd's to fans in 17 states and 2 foreign countries.
The offer mentioned above, is still available to fans from the Forums.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Dee Ann...
I am blessed to know that you now have our Cd, because it will remind you to pray for us whether you can listen or not! Ha!

I know you will get it fixed though. You spend way too much time in that vehichle to not have your music blaring. Kathy and I hope to see you soon.
Will you be at the Fan Festival or GOGR?
We know we will see you at NQC...if not before.

Thanks for buying the Cd...kiss that baby for me!

It will have to be NQC, we are saving for the cruise so we have to cut a few of our concerts. I'll give her a kiss AND she will be with us at NQC so you can give her your own kiss. Her mom has a goal of having her picture made with every group/group member we know at NQC I need a new memory card and more batteries!!!

I have Paul. DeeAnn and I had a lot of fun with Mark and also Tracy Stuffle one weekend. I was calling DeeAnn giving her up dates of the Alabama/Arkansas football game and she was running back and forth rubbing it in. I believe it was Mark that told her she might be more comfortable in someone elses booth.

Actually his words were 'either shut up or get out of my booth' Is the Alabama/Arkansas game during NQC again this year????

Getting back on topic, Paul I got to listen to the first 5 songs on the way to work. I have a confession to make- I ordered it because you are on here and I've known Ed since before time but often when older singers put together 'remakes' of a group I'm not always impressed with the music, but support them for the history.

You definitely have history with Ed, Bill & Eddie and I've enjoyed getting to know you on the forums so getting the project was a no brainer. I put it in and the first cut "I Can Call Jesus Anytime" is a great cut done very well by you guys. "I Just Call It Home" - WOW!!! You did an awesome job - I want a choral arrangement - actually this arrangement would be.... let's see what is bigger than AWESOME... done by a choir with a solo lead. I can see that getting a church on it's feet!!!!

"One Thing the Father Forgets" is uptempo and has a great message! Paul and Daniel another great job! I'm so glad He has forgotten my sin!

"Because They Gave" I read the news on Matt Dibler's nephew just moments before listening to this cut- it truly brought the message home to me.

"How I Want You to Know"- good song and also well done. I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD. It is one that will remain in my van I'm sure for those long road trips!

DeeAnn...
God bless you girl! And thank you for the compliment.

I JUST CALL IT HOME has blessed many through the years...in the church. Have PM'd you with info about choral charts. Glad it is blessing you...and I am really glad that evidently, my vibrato didn't "distract" you from "the lyrics"...glory!

Ed and the boys like this song too. We can stage it with or without
the track. EC does a great job of playing it at the piano. The song is just 3 verses and a chorus...and of course, a big Big BIG Ending!

But it can be done with 4 guys and a piano. Maybe you will get to hear
us do it that way sometime.

The song rarely fails to "get a church on it's feet", as you say.
Seems to always connect. Gospel fans love calling Heaven "my HOME".
AMEN...more later

PJ

Paul, i got my cd yesterday in the mail, i am listening to the cd this morning and right now while i'm on the net. Wow! i am very impressed! I love it, it really is a very great project. You guys really have a great sound. So far, if i had to pick favorites, i would have to say #5. How I Want You To Know, and #1. I Can Call on Jesus Anytime. But i really love every single song on there, there is not one bad song.
This cd is really a blessing to me. Thank you so much for getting this to me so fast. God Bless You.

Everytime I listen to "I'll Follow", I wonder how four old men can sound so good. Well at least three old men. You can guess who isn't the old man in the group. Bill? Paul? Mike? Ed?

No Tracy was another day - it was the Tennessee/Alabama came. We were with them in GA. It was an afternoon concert and they were on stage part of the time. He would see me jump up and go answer my phone, I'd do a victory sign and come back to my seat (it was outside). He wasn't too happy!

Got a copy of Ralph Moores book, 'Still Small Voice' Saturday night. Ralph was The LeFevre's Bus driver. Looking thought the book this morning ran across a photo. An old photo of The Profits, Bob Raines was their bus driver. Members at that time were Ed Hill, Leu Garrison, Roy McNeil, Dave Rogers and Joe Moseheo.

Paul, I found out something really amazing - if you put a letter in the mail with no stamp - they send it back to you, they don't deliver it!!!

Sorry having a brain dead day I guess, it's going back out!

I'm enjoying the CD!

DeeAnn..........The Secret......

Send the letter to yourself.........Put the person you want to receive the letter in the return address space. That way they will return it to the person whose address is in the upper left hand corner.

BINGO!

I am told I should put aside my love and enjoyment of Southern Gospel and listen with an analytical ear in order to properly review a project. So I will attempt to do just that. I purchased The Prophets new project I’ll Follow and have listened to it as much as some, more than most. I have thoroughly enjoyed the CD. It is still in my CD player. Before I get into a song by gong review let me say a few things about The Prophets and their members.

Ed Hill – I have listened to Ed Hill sing about as long as I have listened to Southern Gospel. From his days with the original Prophets through his days with the Stamps and his tour with Elvis. Ed Hill is a legend in Southern Gospel music and it is about time he is recognized for his contributions to the industry. If you listen to Mr. Hill sing you can hear the age in his voice, the man is 74 years old, but he can still belt out a somg with style and his harmony and blend are as tight as ever.

Bill Baize – I have often said I don’t like a bass singer that growls and grunts his way through a song. On the reverse side I also don’t like the screaming squealing tenors that are common place today. I still like to hear a tenor of the old Irish Tenor variety. Bill Baize was and still is my kind of tenor singer. He can still carry a song well and hit the high notes with the best of them.

Mike Allen – In my opinion Mike is one of the most versatile bass singers in Southern Gospel. He has a range that allows him to hit the low notes and yet he can step it up to the baritone part in order to keep the 4 part harmony smooth and blended. Mike is on my short list of the best bass singers in Southern Gospel.

Paul Jackson – The only unknown variable when I ordered the CD. I had never heard Paul sing before. I was pleased with what I heard. As has been mentioned he does have a slight vibrato in his voice. This is not a problem as long as it is not to pronounced. It does show up in his solo’s but not in the blend or harmony. Even in the solo parts it was not so much that it distracted me from the song or the message. Paul is a fine lead singer.

Eddie Crook – It is about time Eddie started traveling with a group again. I have always enjoyed his piano style and I think it is appropriate for his first venture back on the road to be in a group with the likes of Ed Hill and Bill Baize.

I Can Call Jesus Anytime - This is a great song to lead into the project with. It is a good old classic Quartet song. The prophets have updated the music, added a few new chords and pretty much made it their own song although it has been recorded by many other artists. I have never heard an arrangement anywhere close to this on before and I found it refreshing and enjoyable.

I Just Call It Home - This song really speaks to me. I think it sums Heaven up for a lot of us. Paul Jackson does a good job presenting the song although I think the vibrato in his voice probably shows up more in this song than any other. I often hear songs that leave me wondering how the singer could sing without a tear in his /her voice. This is one such song. And yes Paul Jackson does have a tear in his voice but I think I would also. It is still a good message presented in a pleasing manner.

One Thing The Father Forgets – This is an excellent collaboration between Daniel Mount and Paul Jackson. As has been pointed out it is the only song on the project that features Mike Allen. And it shows why Mike is one of the best bass singers in the business. I like the way it spotlights the lower and upper end of the quartet sound with Mike carrying the solo and Bill Baize having a spot in the course. Well written and presented. It does have a slight country sound to it I can almost hear the Oakridge Boys of yesterday singing
