Yes I know NQC 2007 just ended. But I don't know about some of you but I am having NQC withdrawl. So much so we already have recieved our tickets for next year and have our hotel reservations. Sooo, my question to you is am I the only one or are their other "addicts" out there already planning next years adventure. [sm=redfaced.gif]

robertyork -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 3:49:12 PM)

Had my tickets since, Sept 10. Made motel reservations the week after we got home. Internet won't let you make them more than 360 days out.
Season passes for Mon-Tues-Wed. Got Thursday nights tickets. Don't usually go to the mail stage on Friday and come home on Saturday.

heather84 -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 3:53:03 PM)

We're going, but we havent got our tickets yet. We like to see whos going to be there what night before we spend out, but we are going.

savannahgirl -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 3:57:57 PM)

Phew, I thought I was the only crazy one. Kerr not included. [;)]

danielmount -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 5:28:48 PM)

I'm hoping to go, but I haven't finalized my plans yet.[:)]

MsJudy -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 5:37:45 PM)

Unless The Rapture takes place I'll be there for the 32nd year! I have a standing reservation at the Ex West, as I've stayed there in the same room for every year. LOL. I just always sit in the artist circle when groups I want to hear are performing, so I never purchase tickets.
[:D]

Out of curiosity--and I've been wondering this for over a year--how did you end up with an artist circle seat?[sm=icon_smile_idea.gif]

MsJudy -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 5:41:22 PM)

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's a secret................. [;)]

MsJudy -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 5:42:37 PM)

BTW, I missed getting to meet you @ NQC!
[:(]

Dinana -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 7:25:55 PM)

GVfan and I got tickets for Thursday thru Saturday. Haven't decided on the hotel yet. . . . .

Yes, unfortunately. I specifically stopped by your booth to meet you, but you were elsewhere at the time.[:(]

savannahgirl -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/24/2007 8:38:11 PM)

We always stay at the Galt House East. Its a little bigger than most hotel rooms so we have more room to sprawl. There are 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a king size pull out couch in the living room. My husband and I take the bedroom and yes we both take a seperate bed. Its nice to be able to roll around without worrying about kicking the other. [;)] My mom takes the pull out. That way she has privacy, we have privacy. We have our own tv's. So it works out nice.

BBfan -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 12:19:59 AM)

I have never been...always wanted to go so after following the posts this year during NQC I decided I will next year...so I made my reservations at the Howard Johnson's. Looking forward to meeting some of you folks I've been chatting with. [:D]

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 7:29:48 AM)

We have stayed at the Comfort Suites Airport and had planned to stay there again but when I went online to get my reservations the rooms had gone up $40 per night since this year. Not sure I want to do that again. The convenience of 5-10 minutes away and a full breakfast is great but not sure it's $40 great.

I'm checking out other possibilities.

robertyork -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 7:34:05 AM)

I think it may be time for the NQC to take a look at moving to another city. The hotels around the airport are taking advantage of NGC being there and uping their rates because they know people will be staying there. When I check out of our hotel I asked about rates for next year. They had also increased their rates by $40.00 a night. Needless to say I didn't make reservations.

Where did you end up making reservations if you don't mind me asking?

BBfan -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 7:57:39 AM)

DeeAnn,
The HJ rates are $75 for the first night(Sunday) and $100 per night the rest of the week. They do include breakfast but like many of the chains...it's hit or miss as to whether it's a great place to stay. Since I've never stayed there I couldn't comment on it. Some of the other choices I looked at weren't as affordable. Of course since it's a year away I don't know if I'll get to stay the whole week but decided to reserve for the entire week and then modify it closer to the dates after I know what my plans are. Better safe than sorry I guess. I made the reservations online at their website and booked a double room. I got several suggestions of places to stay on the 2007 NQC thread but that seemed the most reasonable...of course I haven't bought my tickets to the NQC yet. If I had to choose between the first part of the week and the later part of the week which is better???[8|]

Dinana -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 8:01:59 AM)

The latter part of the week (Thurs thru Sat) is DEFINITELY the best! Some of the artists don't get there in the very early part of the week, and the good showcases don't start until about Wednesday.

Thanks...that is what I was leaning towards if we couldn't stay all week.

G.I.MOM -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 8:24:16 AM)

I would also recomend the latter part of the week with the fan awards on Thursday. But then, the Sunday night concert this year was the best and funniest concert I've been to in years. This is a most difficult decision for you. Myself, I'd just stay the whole week!!!!
BTW we paid the same this year as last for our hotel. Next year Bill can get a senior discount :+)

Thanks for the giggle...senior discount...neither my husband or I qualify yet...even though I feel like I should most days!!![:D] My plan at this point is to stay the whole week!

It is not crazy to book your hotel rooms for Southern Gospel events three years in advance.

It's not. Really.[sm=cooltilt.gif]

danielmount -> RE: NQC 2008 (9/25/2007 10:28:23 AM)

I stayed at a hotel 30 minutes out, in LaGrange, and paid $60 per night. I was pretty happy with that.

Daniel,
We paid the same and stay 5 minutes away. Fern Vally Drive.

We stayed on Fern Valley at the Comfort Suites, but that's the place that is going up $40 next year. Where did you stay?
