We've done different threads in the past having to do with your top 25 most played songs list in iTunes / Windows Media Player. Some of these have involved reformatting / re-typing the whole list--an interesting but time-consuming exercise.

Today, I have in mind a few different and new questions.

1. How many groups are represented?
2. How many times has the #1 song on the list been played?
3. How about #25?
4. Have you ever gone straight through and just played your top 25?

Unfortunately, I've had all of my play counts reset multiple times over the last month or so, what with transfering them to another computer and other problems. So my top played list means pretty nearly nothing right now. But anyway:

The #1 song, "Over the Next Hill," has been played about a dozen times. Most of the songs have been played 3 times.

And I don't play the top 25. I'll pick songs from there and put them in party shuffle sometimes.

My answers:
1. How many groups are represented? 15 - Perrys (6), Mark Trammell Trio (5), Collingsworth Family (2), and one each by the Blue Ridge Quartet, Browns, Cathedrals (!), Couriers, Dixie Echoes Dove Brothers, Greater Vision, Inspirations, Kingdom Heirs, Kingsmen, Lacey Family, and the Von Trapp Children.
2. How many times has the #1 song on the list been played? 51
3. How about #25? 30
4. Have you ever gone straight through and just played your top 25? Yes, I think

After I got the Cathedrals 25th Anniversary album, "When I Move" "moved" straight on up into the middle of my most frequently played. That song will never die ... I could listen to it 3 times in a row right now, although I've probably heard it hundreds of times.

I had one other idea. I also created a top 100 list recently (also automatically generated--just vary the criteria slightly). I'll answer my questions for that list as well.

1. How many groups are represented? 24 - Cathedrals (16), Perrys (12), Kingdom Heirs (10), Mark Trammell Trio (10), Dixie Echoes (10), Collingsworth Family (8), Von Trapp Children (5), Florida Boys (4), Browns (3), Dove Brothers (3), Lacey Family (3), Legacy Five (3), 2 each by the Couriers and Dixie Melody Boys, and 1 each by the Blue Ridge Quartet, Gold City, Greater Vision, Harvesters, Hoppers, Inspirations, Kingsmen, Michael Card, Talleys,
2. How many times has the #1 song on the list been played? 51
3. How about #100? 16
4. Have you ever gone straight through and just played your top 100? No.

When I saw the Cathedrals only had one song on my top 25, I realized that was unrepresentative of how much of their music I play and that I had to revise my numbers!

I would normally have a mile-long answer to this, but right now I have essentially no songs in my Top 25 or 100! I recently replaced the hard drive on my comp so I'm replacing the songs, but I couldn't save the ratings...

Isn't it possible to back up your iTunes library? I don't do it (often), but I think I've done it once or twice.

...and on the other hand, you might be slightly surprised!

I know I was surprised by which songs were in my top 100 and which weren't. (I thought for sure I'd have more Hoppers songs, for example.)

I don't think you get your ratings. But I'm not positive. I know when I transferred my songs using a shuffle as a flash drive that the ratings didn't come with the songs.

Yea you can back it up to cds or dvds, but I wasn't into burning a zillion cds...

I just backed up the files onto my new external hard drive and that's working, but the problem is it doesn't save ratings.

I play music on 5 computers, 2 at home and 3 at work. The one that I'm on now is at home and I share it with Mrs. Kerrlaw, but here goes:

1. Six groups: Hoppers (14); Alabama (6); Guy Clark (2); Signature Sound (1); Crabb Family (1); Brenda Lee (1).

2. Most played: 60 times (My Only Option)

3. No. 25: played 12 times (Thistlehair the Christmas Bear)

4. Never played straight through.

Most of the songs are Christmas or The Ride.

Be interesting to see the other computers when I have time.

Fascinating!

More songs from the Hoppers' The Ride will definitely make it onto my list soon.

I really don’t use iTunes at all and Media Player very seldom, so I’m listing what I have on my little 1G MP3 player! It’s small so each album has to be a favorite to get on there! I pretty much rotate these except for my very favorites which I play most often – which I put in bold. My little guy doesn’t keep count of the number of plays.

Again – Allegiance (trio that Jodi Hosterman had for a while)
Best of Scott Allen
Eric Bennett (1st solo CD)
Eric Bennett and Family (2nd CD)
Everyday People – GV
From Broadway to Classical – piano solo CD – Jeff Stice
Going on with the Song – Kingdom Heirs
Greater Vision Quartets
In the Shadow of Virtuosity – piano solo CD – Jeff Stice
Integrity – the first Triumphant CD
Live in Music City – L5
Lovin’ Out Loud – Paid In Full
Make It Real – Christian Davis solo CD
Mercy’s Mark – first CD by MMQ
MMQ Southern Selections I
MMQ Southern Selections II
Ronnie Booth – his new solo CD
Scott Inman – latest solo CD
Something’s Happening – MMQ
Ultimate Steve Green Collection
We Need a Little Christmas – Triumphant
Treasures – Triumphant
Triumphant – duh!
Ya Gotta Love It – Triumphant

7. The Embrace Of Grace - Kingdom Heirs (24)
8. He Took The Cross - Three Bridges (24)
9. Where Is God? - Gold City (23)
10. Take Somebody - Three Bridges (23)

13. Walk In Triumph - Karen Peck & New River (21)
14. What Will You Choose - Brian Free & Assurance (20)
15. The Depths Of The Father's Love - Kingdom Heirs (20)
16. There Is A Mountain - Ball Brothers (19)
17. When I Walk On The Streets Of Gold - Inspirations (18)
18. Somebody Did Some Praying For Me - Mike & Kelly Bowling (18)
19. Dead Days Are Over - Poet Voices (18)
20. Men Of His Word - Poet Voices (18)
21. In The Valley There's A Rock (18)

23. When Those Gates Open Wide - Tribute Quartet (17)

There's a lot of trios on here right now.

I don't have an iPod, either. I just have iTunes and use to store and arrange the tracks on my computer hard drive. iTunes is free.

My Ipod has just about died. On Itunes I mainly have tracks with just music we used when we were singing.
