OK...new poll.

We now know we are having a boy, so hubby wanted me to poll the names we have for each choice.
We like family names for the middle name for sure...for that we have three family names...
Emery (Hubby's dad's middle name)
Charles (my grandfather's middle name)
James (my great grandfather's name)

for first names we don't have family names for this one...but they are ones we like with the middle names...
Josiah
Judah
Micah
Levi
James

You can vote on both middle and first combinations.

So, your other kids are Jake, Hannah, Emma, and Jack, right? What are their middle names? I think I like James Emery the best, but I'm not going to vote yet.

I was just thinking, does it matter if the name is another "J" name, I mean I guess it doesn't seeing you chose it. But did I remember that Paul was saying he gets really confused by their names sometimes? Maybe it was someone else.

other kids are...
Jacob (Jake) Gregory
Hannah Grace
Emma Ruth
Jackson (Jack) Anthony

yeah but he decided he would get confused no matter what the name is (which is true...if you only knew him)...lol. So those are the ones we both liked from both of our lists. Our top pick is Josiah (it's the name we were at odds with last time too....it was between Josiah and Jackson, and we chose Jackson in the hospital).

LOL well with 5 kids you would get confused any way wouldn't you? I know my dad gets us all confused sometimes and when my brother and sister are over I always seem to call Grace my sisters name...
I like Josiah because that is my best friends son's name. And I can picture your cute accent saying it too
They are all very "strong" sort of sounding names whatever combo you have which is what I like too.

What? No Jake, Jack and Jock?

Seriously, I like Josiah James.

I also like Emery for a middle name but didn't really like how it sounded in my head with the selection of first names. I do like James Emery however.

You have some great sounding names there. I like almost any combination. Not much help, I know.

I voted for Josiah Emery. If you went with Levi ( ), I like James best with that. Our Levi is Levi Joseph.

OK, I dragged myself all the way over here just to vote, and you already knew I wasn't gonna vote for another J name! I voted for Micah James.

The confusion thing happens anyway, though. Yesterday I looked Brandon full in the face and asked, "Which one are you?" Poor Brandon, for some reason his is the name I'm always messing up.

I voted for Josiah Emery (before I read who the names were named for and which was your fav!)... I think it flows well and is a good strong name! (and even if you shorten it to "Joe" it's at least different than Jack/Jake!! LOL).

that is one thing I HATE....I hate the nick names that come with it. No...it will be JOSIAH...not JO-JO or JOE. I can't stand those. Because of that my second pick is one that can't be shortened by everyone...Micah

I voted for Micah James. It kind of goes with the other boys without being another J name. I also think if you can't stand a certain nickname, you probably should avoid the longer name.(because it is almost inevitable that either the child or someone else will use that nickname)

Hmmm... I think that James James would be unique. You could call him JJ or Double-Jay...

Sarah, it was the nickname factor which led us to choosing Jaime over James. I really dislike the nickname Jim because of some personal experiences with Jims and yet I love the names James and Jaime.

The only downside is that people assume his name is James and then some adults treat him as if he's being rude when he (politely or I'd jump on him for it) corrects their mistake.

I don't mind the nickname "Mike"...although I know about half a dozen "Micah's" IRL and none of them go by a nick name. I hate the nickname Joe...in any form. I guess it's my dislike of "hickness" in some ways. I have known quite a few that I can't stand (and one that was creepy....really creepy) so I just hate that name.

I said Levi James but then read your other names and it doesn't really match with them. Oops
But if you don't want it I'll take it for my next son (whenever that is).

I put Levi for the first name, and Charles for the second, but I think Charles Levi sounds better than Levi Charles.
