Sarah,

Do you want things to be prepared ahead, or will you stop and use a picnic table along the way? Do you have a cooler that you can access while driving, or does it need to be all room temp snacks?

we are taking a cooler...it will sit in the doorway behind the drivers seat and someone from the back could reach in it anytime...or hubby...he has the longest arms on the face of the earth it seems like...lol
I think we are taking some egg salad and bread...so that's one meal down.
snacks we will definitely take veggies and fruit.
I just don't like fast food that much....I would much prefer to save that money and go eat at my favorite mexican restaurant when we get there to my moms.

Sarah, I'm so glad that dh is so supportive. Seeing as she'll listen to him, I'm glad that he's willing to be the one to talk to her and hopefully get the results that you want from her.

Apples, bananas, carrot sticks, grapes (cut ahead of time for little ones). Peanut butter graham crackers. Oatmeal raisin cookies. Mini muffins. If you have a cooler, bring lunch meat and cheese and bread or rolls to make sandwiches. Or plan to stop at a Walmart or something on the way and just buy enough meat and cheese for that one meal.

The only thing I might add to this list is pretzel rods and pickles. You can eat them by themselves or wrap lunchmeat &/or cheese around them and call it a sandwich-on-a-stick. If you do plan on stopping and using a picnic table the kids can choose and wrap their own, it gives them something to do!

I try to stay away from salty things because it makes my kids more thirsty. And more thirsty means more drinking. More drinking means...

And more drinking means you shouldn't drive.

LOL

My kids really don't like pretzels that much...but I do, and since I will be driving...we will probably have them too!!! We also got some hot pockets at sams today...we are going to cook them, then wrap them in foil so that they will stay sorta warm....them we will have breakfast taken care of too. Our kids really aren't ones to eat as soon as they get up....usually about 9 is when they start getting hungry, and we will be on the road by then.

We have kitten #1 so far!!!!!! (Black with white paws and on the face!!!!!)

LOL...well, we didn't exactly want her to have more kittens, but we couldn't afford to get her fixed before she got pregnant again. This time we will be able to afford it though. The city laws around here are astronomical for having animals though...and we wouldn't have been looking for a cat when we got her, but she showed up on our door step pregnant and skin and bones. When I called shelters they said that there were already too many strays and it was hard enough to get rid of cats, so they would have put her and the kittens to sleep. We couldn't do that to her....she is such a sweet cat. So we knew that when we couldn't afford to get her fixed it would probably mean another litter. We really don't care. They are soooooo cute though!!!! I am uploading a picture right now of the three so far. HERE it is

I don't know...but they are much much smaller then the last litter she had. I thought it was just me, but I was looking at pics of the last ones and the biggest of these is still smaller then the smallest of that one. She is about to have another...and it feels like there are probably two or more at least still in there...she is still pretty firm on the sides and not really drooping yet from her skin being stretched out. So it could be 5-7 before she is done.

HERE again is the pic I took a few minutes ago of how small they are this time
HERE is a pic of last time. They were about three days old here...but MUCH MUCH larger then these are

she had five again this time too....HERE is the final picture. Two orange ones (like her entire first litter), two black and white (one with a bit of orange on it too), and one grey and white with a little orange thrown in there.
