When I was in BC, I was cycling through the seawallVancouver Seawall when I ran across this couple who were probably in their 60s or 70s who were biking using a tandem bike. The man was in the front, leading, and the woman was gently peddling. He was so attentive to her. The view was so beautiful because the trail was sorrounded by water, and you can view the whole city of Vancouver from the trail. The view paled in comparison to what I observed this couple was doing. They were so totally into each other. I wondered how long they were married, and what type of difficulties they've gone through their marriage and still being this in love with each other after all this time. WHen they stopped to let me pass, I gave them a big smile and told them I wish I could take a picture of them. I wish I did, because the image of those two would always remind me of what I want in my marriage should I get married in the future. Seeing something like them is a blessing.

Then it dawned on me that they could just be a new couple going on their 3rd date, lol.....

That's what I want. A tandem ride through life with my partner. The man leading, me, helping along, riding in perfect harmony, enjoying the rest of the trail.

Hey PH,

Is your name Daisy?

If so, I found a song you may like...

"Daisy Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two !"

1) Someone I can be open with and not fear they're going to judge/dismiss/laugh at/misunderstand me.

2) Someone stronger in their walk than me.

3) Someone to eat my cooking.

Hey, Ruby, glad to see you back. I've been wondering where you went (see the MIA thread).

I know I'm not what you're looking for, but I'll eat your cooking anytime, lol. I haven't had a home cooked meal in forever!

What do I want in a relationship?

Well!

Someone to build with - be it working on the house or each other.

Someone to laugh with! How often does something hillarious happen, and I'm left laughing alone ... it's just one of those things that is sweeter when shared.

Someone to leave for my alone time, and someone to come back to from my alone time. I like having my own space - but it is such a constant around here!

Someone to tell me I'm beautiful for no reason, and mean it.

And someone who I find handsome, who I can come in to the room and tell him he is making my heart throb ... and mean it.

Mostly - someone I am comfortable being 100% myself around, and who feels the same around me.

Someone to kneel and pray with, to serve God together with. Someone who will help pull my feet back to the path God has set before us when I want to wander.

And after this weekend - someone who would make me eat when I'm sick, and someone to take me to the doctor so I don't have to worry that I shouldn't be driving.
