Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:29-32

Remember Who's you are. When you speak to others, remember to do so in love.

Because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. (Proverbs 3:12)

Every day I will praise You and extol Your name for ever and ever. (Psalms 145:2)

Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. (James 1:17)

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3)

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Cor 9:15

Yes, thank You Father for the gift of Your Son!

AdamsEve -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (2/29/2008 10:45:01 AM)

I have been browsing around the forum for a while, but have made the decision to register.

This "Biblical Wisdom" I like as I have been using like saying using Scrioture for a long while.

I see that RBKay is and has not posted any entries for a long time.

I am asking the visitors to this topic if they would mind if I picked up with my bits of wisdom(?)?

I would not want to step on toes and I did not read all the post in this thread and as some point I might use some similar. [8|]

Hi AdamsEve! And welcome!!!

Please feel free to join in and participate. [:)]

Focusing thanks for the welcome.

Philippians 4:11
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

Most people aren’t content with their lot- even when they get a lot.

Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

God’s good news is too good to keep quiet.

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. Isaiah 9:2

Jesus is the light, and as His brethren, we are also to bring the light to the world.

I read this today, from one of Smith Wigglesworth's sermons.

"Nothing happen's to the believer except what is good for him. All things work together for good to those who love God. (Rom 8:28) But we must not forget this additional injunction, to those who are called according to His purpose, (v28) Remember, you are called according to His purpose in the working out of the power of God within you for the salvation of others. God has you for a purpose!

J

This is great!

The end of that sentence says what God's purpose is: that you be conformed to the image of Christ! Yay! God's will is for us to be like Jesus. [:)]

I love 1 Pet. 1:22:
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

God's will in our obedience to Him is that we love other Christians fervently. He commands it because our sin natures often make it hard to do, whether to love or to be loved. We're a scraggly lot!

Marcus. -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/1/2008 12:45:27 PM)

John1:4 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I think this next passage explains the first one better than I can.

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Withani -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/2/2008 7:55:48 AM)

I like this thread! Don't know why I haven't noticed it before. I hope I don't repeat someone else, but here's a verse that is very meaningful to me:

Psalm 71:14-15 "But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure." (bold added by me)

I pray this verse when things don't look good (from my human perspective). It reminds me God is my hope and salvation and He deserves my praise always! [:)]

AdamsEve -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/2/2008 10:43:29 AM)

I don't know what happened to RBKay but I liked what was being posted on this topic, It is using God's word and a short saying in how we use that word or what it means to us. I have been using like things even to the point of teaching a class or in ministry.

God bless all of you.

1John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

A living faith is a working faith.

Marcus. -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/2/2008 6:11:10 PM)

Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

I love the language of the KJV for this verse best. There is a burning desire to be near and with God that is above all other desires.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O LORD.

They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness.

(Psalm 89:15-16)

AdamsEve -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/3/2008 3:08:34 PM)

Marcus
There is a burning desire to be near and with God that is above all other desires.

I know what you mean;
The more I get the more I want.

1Timothy 1:15
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners — of whom I am the worst.

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

"Guidance"

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it." (Isaiah 30: 21)

For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end. (Psalm 48:14)

Marcus. -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/5/2008 8:57:48 PM)

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

There is no greater wisdom than what His Words tell us. They lead us through life and show us the way to go.

Focusing -> RE: Biblical Wisdom (3/6/2008 11:09:05 AM)

But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.
Psalm 71:14-15

My hope is in God alone, and I will praise Him always.

Luke 5:32
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Sinners are the only people who can be saved.

I've always liked this scripture also! Actually most of the entire chapter of Romans 8 is very meaningful to me. [:)]
But related to vs. 28:
Rom. 8:18 - "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
