So that would be before they were rescued if the calendar on the freighter said 12-04.

Exactly. I don't think he is really dead.

Don't forget hte actor that plays Jin got a DWI. That usually means death to that actor's character.

Well, sometimes they can work around that....after all, didn't the writer's strike come a good time for jack bauer?

I thought it was brilliant that the writer's strung us along thinking Jin's part was a flash forward concurrent with Sun's but it was really a flash back. I did think he looked younger and had an older model phone, but it didn't click. Then he was acting like his old self, violent and angry, but at first, when I thought it was a flash forward, I thought he reverted back to that. Then I thought maybe Sun's father wasn't letting him see her, before I realized he was working for Sun's father and giving a gift. It was confusing, but once I realized his was a flash back and hers was a flash forward, it made sense.

I do think he dies, but they Oceanic Six say that he died the day of the crash. There seemed to be a lot of foreshadowing ("I'll do everything to protect you and the baby.")

Hurley was out of the asylum, so I wonder if this takes place before or after that? And why was he the only one to come? I cried when Sun was "talking" tp Jin at the grave site.

I did figure Michael was the spy on the boat. But is he there because Ben didn't really release him but made him do this under threat of telling the world he killed two people? Or did he suffer from the time warp of leaving the island and forget who he was?

And what's with the girl jumping overboard and no one saving her?

The note (we're assuming from Michael) said "Don't trust the captain," but he seemed a lot more forthcoming than anyone else.

I love the actor who plays Faraday. I didn't like him at first, but he plays his character's nuances well.

The girl jumping... I wondered it if showed, how terrible things really were - how desparate she was. AND, why did she not realize that she was reading a book upside down? Was she faking reading? Seems obvious, but was it because she was leaving little messages for Sayid and Desmond, or because she couldn't read and was faking THAT?

Barb, good points about Jin. I noticed the old phone he was using, but didn't think anything except "how wierd he has an old phone!" And, what is the deal with the panda? Didn't someone mention a panda earlier? Like Jin to Sun? And why did he try to get a look in the hospital room, and them say to the nurse it wasn't his baby? PLUS that was a baby boy, and Sun had a girl - so I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on....

good luck with THAT one, I say....

Sun just had the baby last night and she was around 2 months pregnant in the island and had the baby around 7 months later. Aaron...he was a baby when Sun was pregnant and when Aaron was Kate, he was a preschooler. I'm assuming that last nights Sun's story and with Hurley being there was prior to Hurley's asylum stay unless the time warp happened and made Aaron grew faster

I didn't see last night, but I can answer this. Hurley wasn't put in the asylum immediately. It wasn't until after he led the police on a high speed chase that they locked him up again.

I am thinking a nice little retreat to Hurley's asylum may be needed after this season. Group rate anyone?

True...but don't you remember that Juliette calculated that Sun was around 8 weeks pregnant. This is the same time the she outs SUN and Sun and Jin had a conversation about what to name the baby...so that would have to be at the earliest, November.

But on the ship it's Christmas eve. The island would have had to heal Jin first, then she'd have to ovulate, so either it's Christmas on the island too or else there's a time warp thing going on. I remember Sayid said he didn't realize it was almost Christmas. (which I thought was a strange thing for him to say considering he's moslem.)

good observations kath!

The weird thing, is that there does appear (yet) to be a strict consistency to the amount of time of the warp. Not that this is on PURPOSE or anything..............grrrrr............

Thanks for the crib notes. Makes sense now. Plus that head stone could have been the one put up after the staged plane crash was found.

I do think he dies, but they Oceanic Six say that he died the day of the crash. There seemed to be a lot of foreshadowing ("I'll do everything to protect you and the baby.")

Hope not.

I think it was pre asylum

I love the actor who plays Faraday. I didn't like him at first, but he plays his character's nuances well.

He plays a POW in Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale & Steve Zahn.

I forgot about it being Christmas Eve on the ship. So we know that he was not dead on 9/22 like his tombstone says.

But what about her being 8 weeks pregnant and them discussing baby names. He was alive 8 weeks after the conception. The crash was in September.

Ok, let me clarify my thoughts... The grave says that he died in Sept. The whole world thought everyone died on 9/22. The boat capt even said they have that many bodies, plus the aircraft that was "found". So, if for some reason Jin didn't get off the island, or is hiding from Sun's dad, the world could still think he died on 9.22 with the rest. I guess that is what I was rambling about. Sorry, I am working on a paper and am distracted, so i probably didn't make it clear. Makes me worried about my paper....:)

I 'get' that but what puzzles me is why would Sun go to the grave? Just for show? but then she wouldn't get all choked up. And why did Hurley show up to go with her if it was just for show?

That's why I think he really is dead. Jack's "story" on the witness stand was that everyone died in the crash except the Oceanic 6 plus two who died a little later. So no matter when Jin died, they would have said he died in the crash, especially if the circumstances are something they want to keep hidden as apparently they do since they're lying about everyone else dying then.

I wonder how they are going to reconcile the Oceanic 6 people's survival in the public eye when they are reporting that everyone died in the crash -- if it will come to light that the found plane was a hoax or if there will be some other explanation.

Jack Bauer is not a character on Lost though. Every actor on Lost who gets a DWI the character has died.
