The signal would get interrupted in the time it took to switch it and the bomb would go off anyway. Standard spy vs. spy stuff. [8D]

Heatherlea -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 10:40:57 AM)

That was a great finale. Glad Penny and Desmond reunited. The whole island moving scene was very cool.
I was thinking it might be Aaron in the coffin but was suprised it was Locke. This leads well into next season.

2jsmom -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 11:16:33 AM)

When the island moved, it looked to me like it went underwater. How would the people on the surface survive?

EStan -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 11:49:12 AM)

I think the effect we saw was the water filling the "void" left by the island, which caused the ripple. Cool stuff!

Miss Giggles -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 12:50:17 PM)

So no one heard what Sawyer said to Kate? I rewound it but i couldnt hear it.

Also the casket did look small that's why I thought it Michael (or even Walt) since no one could know what happened to him.

2jsmom -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 12:52:26 PM)

This is all too much for me to digest. I thought Walt was already dead. Wasn't it Walt's ghost that was in the room with the money and drugs?

uncabeeil -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 1:00:10 PM)

No, Walt and Michael were both alive when they left the island. In flash forwards we saw Walt living with his grandmother, who wouldn't let Michael see him.

Looks like Sun is going to be looking for some paybacks. I love the way she warned Widmore "we're not the only people who got off the island". We know Lapidus and Desmond both made it as far as Penny's boat. No guarantees either one made it any further, though. And we also know Ben is able to pop on or off the island whenever he chooses. And apparently Locke got off, too. One thing I have to keep reminding myself of is the fact that the flash forwards aren't all taking place in the same time. They seem to range from around a year later to maybe as many as 3 or 4 years.

Abbreviated -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 3:45:34 PM)

Frank is played by Jeff Fahey.

I don't think we were supposed to hear what he said. The whole whispering thing reeks of something that will have to be explained next season. Typical Lost fashion[:)]
I have a feeling it was about his little girl. Didn't we find out in one of the earlier episodes that he had a daughter? Maybe he wanted Kate to know about her since she was getting off the island?

momma-mo -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 10:00:35 PM)

I think she is keeping an eye on Sawyer's daughter. The Walt that has been seen on the island since they left is Smokey. He's good at shape shifting. Ben said whoever moves the island can't return! So it will be interesting to see how he gets the oceanic 6 and Locke back to the island. Especially since some don't want to go. And Claire appeared to Kate in a dream and told her never to take Aaron back to the island. What a twist....all that time Jack was obsessed with getting everyone off of the island, now he's obsessed with getting back onto the island!

Yay! Penny and Desmond! I do the dance of joy![:D]

Oh....I hate waiting for the new season!!!!!!!!

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/30/2008 10:35:15 PM)

'had to rewatch Lost again tonight since son missed it last night and I totally forgot about Miles and Charlotte. What was Miles telling Charlotte? Charlotte was born on the island?
Claire- is she gone? If so...I thought, or maybe I'm imagining things, I thought Desmond told Charlie that Claire will be saved prior to his death.

Wayfaring_Stranger -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/31/2008 10:34:13 AM)

I had thought for sure that Ben was in the coffin, and when I heard the name Jeremy Bentham I figured it was an alias since it also had "Ben" in it. But my son googled Jeremy Bentham during the commercial and saw it was a philosopher and figured it had something to do with Locke since his name is also a philosopher's.

Since Bentham/aka Locke had been visiting the Oceanic Six and saying bad things had happened since they left, I am wondering if Locke had to "move the island" and therefore couldn't go back and so was trying to get them to go back. He had to travel under an alias since he was supposed to be dead and the six had been lying to protect him and everyone left on the island. I wonder of Widmore had him killed?

I wonder why people can't go back once they've moved the island?

I also thought that Desmond had been on the island 3 years before the plane crash, and someone, I think Kate, said they had been home three years at the time of these flash forwards, so I wonder if there is something significant about a 3 year time period.

I am also wondering if there is a chance Jin is alive since he was on deck when the boat exploded -- maybe he got thrown and was clinging to debris? And what happened to Faraday and the people in the raft on their way to the freighter? Did they go with the island?

I was so glad Desmond and Penny got together! At least somebody gets to be happy! For a while, anyway -- Ben told Widmore earlier he was going to kill his daughter.

My husband thinks the dessert where Ben ended up (in an earlier episode we see him waking up in that jacket with a wounded arm on the dessert, so that must be where he went from the island) may have been an earlier location of the island since that's also where Charlotte found the polar bear remains.

I think what Sawyer whispered to Kate had to do with Kate doing spmething to look after Sawyer's daughter. She said in a flash forward with Jack a week it two ago that she was taking care of something for Sawyer.

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/31/2008 1:59:12 PM)

Anyone saw GMA yesterday? They had 2 alternate endings just in case the Locke in a casket leaked. One showed Sawyer in a casket and the other one showed Desmond.

Kath -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/31/2008 3:07:14 PM)

NO! But I am so very glad it was not Sawyer in the casket.

I've been looking up time travel books and found the one that Sawyer was reading at one time called a Wrinkle in Time. I know we talked about it years before but now the book plot/Lost tie in makes more sense. I wonder which is the evil presence, Jacob? Ben? Widmore?

From BN.com
"Together they journey through a wrinkle in time, a tesseract, to rescue the Murrys' missing father from an evil presence (likened by some interpreters to a black hole), and a sinister brain called IT."

Y'all can talk about Richard but I think he's so good lookin', especially when he had long hair. (I think that is when he first met Ben in the forest when Ben was like 13)

You know how Christian appeared to Michael right before the ship blew up and said it was ok to go now?(Something like that) Michael kept trying to kill himself before Tom recruited him so I guess that is why Christian appeared.

So what happened to Farraday?

I remember him (Nestor Carbonnel) when he used to be on Brooke Shield's sitcom Suddenly Susan- he was Luis and I thought his character was one of the funniest one.

furrypurrykitty -> RE: Lost Season 4 (5/31/2008 10:40:12 PM)

Just about the time I'm beginning to think Ben is a somewhat sympathetic character (i.e., his grief over Alex's death) he does or says something that seems incredibly callous or cruel, like replying, "So?" to Locke's telling him that he just doomed everyone on the freighter by killing Keamy. He later attributed stabbing Keamy to being overcome by emotion, but, frankly, I don't recall ever seeing Ben overcome by any kind of emotion. As he told Locke earlier, he always has a plan, and I wouldn't be surprised if killing Keamy was part of it.

Ben does have some of the best lines, though, and a lot of that is the way he delivers them, for example, when Jack pointed a gun at him and Ben said, "Nice to see you, too, Jack."

They showed (really quickly) Faraday and a boat load of people sitting in their raft watching the island disappear - so I am wondering what happened to them, and now there may be more than 6 survivors...

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/4/2008 8:14:37 AM)

One of the flash forward they showed earlier this season was Faraday so we know he made it out.

floydette -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/4/2008 10:13:18 AM)

Should be interesting how they "rescue" him, and if all the people on his boat are willing to go along with the lie that they 6 are telling.

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/4/2008 10:45:41 AM)

Unless the other people on the boat with him did not make it and he was the only one who got back. If I remember it right, his flash forward showed him as really distressed on something and I thought there was a caretaker or was that Kenny Rogers the pilot?

The clip where he was distressed was when the news first broke that Oceanic 815 was found in the ocean, which would have been before he came to the island. The only other flash in which he was shown was when Desmond was going back and forth in time, and I am not sure when that was -- I think that was earlier, before Desmond went on his boat trip. So we haven't seen Faraday in a flash forward at all.

jodavi -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/4/2008 2:14:04 PM)

But why would he be distressed about the plane and what would be the relevant of that scene being a flashback instead of a flash forward?

I don't know -- but that episode showed all of the team that came on the helicopter and it showed the flashbacks as to how they got there. Faraday was in a chair looking upset over the news that was on his TV about the plane being found, his hearing about it on the news preceded his coming to the island.

I wonder, since his notebook had a page saying "Desmond is my constant" in the episode where Desmond was experiencing side effects of going back and forth in time, if Faraday is or had been doing the same thing.

Abbreviated -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/5/2008 11:45:48 AM)

So MAYBE next season we will see the flashbacks of why those 3 on the freighter wanted to go to the island.

uncabeeil -> RE: Lost Season 4 (6/5/2008 12:23:12 PM)

Then again, maybe not. [8D]
