Focusing -> RE: Let Everything That Has Breath Praise The Lord! (1/29/2008 11:05:18 AM)

You know I could say something about that .....

But ....... I have been doing a little study on the taming of the tongue and will demonstrate some Fruit of the Spirit, namely, self control.

(Okay, this study has more to do with the issue with the munchkin and his misadventures, but I must, as The Mother, lead by demonstration ....... sometimes it's no fun to be The Mother [8|])

But, I will say this, simply because it isn't really *saying* anything: [8D]

Yes, it is much more peaceful here. Much like my own home IRL. [:)]

Anyone want to come and help me hang pictures? I need to take a poster in and have it framed too. Maybe some new candles and plants. Yeah, I think I need plants.

Sure I can help. I have also had experience in matting and framing. I matte and frame my own photographs for exhibit and sale.

Duh! I should have though of you Gary!!

The munchkin found the most awesome poster - it was in the Sunday school teacher section of one of the Christian bookstores we frequent - of all the apostles, and it has a *likeness* of each one, then details all sorts of info about them. Not only is it educational, the colors match my couches. [:D]

So, when are you coming to Phoenix.........

So I take it you've been lurking ....... LOL

........ Prison ministry...

There is a story about how I got into it... I will spare you the details.

.... but I will say... God was training me for years before He presented the opportunity. It was really a God thing.

Do I feel claustrophobic? I have once or twice... because of different circumstances...

Those experiences are most excellent... they remind me of what those ladies feel like at all times.... [:D]

I am headed to south Texas in 3 weeks. [:D]

Actually framing is not that hard, if you are working with standard sizes. I use the metal frames that you buy a pair of each side and they are attached by L-brackets and screws.

Do you want a matte border around the poster? If you do, you have to attach the poster to the backing board so that it is centered on the board and the front matte will fit correctly.

Nice photo Veronica, I thought that maybe your avatar was a picture of a statue that had turned into a snowman.

I actually found out today what it is. I guess the City opens up the water main every now and then to let it drain and this was the result. I wish the picture was more clear so you can see the blue tint to it. It really is cool.

I wonder how many others have had this amazing experience? Feeling God, His presence so strong you can feel him............

This truly is an amazing thing to experience. I know that sometimes He allows us to go through the desert times....those are important as well. I think it's during those times we have to make a strong determination that we're going to walk by faith and not by sight. But boy do I love those times when He lets His presence be known. Sometimes it's in big ways and sometimes it's in very subtle ways. I know this may sound strange but I sometimes think it's the subtle ways that I find that impact me in a deeper way.

I have a friend who was on death row for 20 years before DNA proved his innocense and now he doesn't like being in a room for very long at one time. Sometimes being with him I'm reminded of simple things I take for granted.

I think so too. They are more tender, intimate.

Okay, I gotta say that Galations 6:9 ..... yeah, that's the verse for me today. Have you ever had to deal with a coworker who is so petty you just have to stop and laugh at them? I need to stay focused, not become wearing in doing good work, and the harvest will come ...... not a harvest for ME per se, but for our group as a whole.

Patience, Sam. Have patience. [sm=popsigh.gif]

And, now I can head over to the frame shop and use a little of the lingo, maybe sound like I know what I'm talking about, get some matting and a frame. [:D] It should be a fun project, I've never framed something before.

I have to get the prayer request out for this situation. Please forgive me for copying and pasting the request from my prayer email, but the background is that this man was able to win custody of his children through sexual abuse that their mother wasn't protecting them from. Abuse issues, and children especially, are something that are very near and dear to my heart. The more people praying over this situation the better.

Our brother, Michael, and his young daughter, Haley, who we prayed diligently for as he fought for and was granted full custody of his two very young children in the wake of molestation charges against their step-grandfather. We praised God as He protected the children and Michael through all of the painful, gut-wrenching proceedings. Now, as the discovery in the criminal trial begins, Haley has been summoned by the D.A. (Wisconsin) to go through her first round of questioning by the molester’s lawyer. Please pray for Almighty God to be present throughout this proceeding. Please pray hard for protection for this young girl. Please continue to pray hard for the Lord’s mighty intervention – that He will go in front of this legal process as it unfolds in the future and that justice will be served. Please continue to pray for protection, peace and the comfort that can only be found in the huge and loving arms of Jesus for this family.

All prayer is welcome, and please feel free to pass this prayer request along. (((((Haley))))) The thought of her having to re-live this trauma is so very sad.

This situation is most certainly in my prayers, Sam.

....... I get angry when I hear the stories in jail about how the women were abused .... even as 3 yr olds and younger!

Satan is icky.... in all ways.

God wins. That rocks!

Yes.

I hate abuse. It has left an indelible mark on me. I can only continue looking to God and thank Him for His mercies in protecting me and the munchkin. And I can praise Him for using me to help others in my little way. My heart cries big body-quaking sobs to know how many suffer abuse at the hands of others. It's especially difficult when it comes to the innocent little children.

Father, please hold these little ones tightly. Gather them to You. Protect their hearts and minds. Brings adults into their lives that are willing to stand up on their behalf and protect them. Let us know You are using us for this purpose if the situation ever presents itself. Let us be bold on Your behalf. Amen.

This tickled my funny bone this morning ......

Oh, how delightful! And true! If life were all rules and no exceptions, how boring would that be?

Age certainly has its advantages. And you know what? I wouldn't trade it. Nope, I would not!

Focusing -> RE: Let Everything That Has Breath Praise The Lord! (1/30/2008 11:59:29 AM)

That's for sure!

Most people get depressed when they turn 40. Not me! Nope ...... I was so happy about it. This is what turning 40 meant to me:

I am 40 years old now ...... I no longer need to take all that junk from others!

joy2give2u -> RE: Let Everything That Has Breath Praise The Lord! (1/30/2008 12:00:41 PM)

Happy Birthday Sam...........when did you turn 40..........I am 41 now........So far I am loving it LOL.......
