Well we avoided the park today and instead went and visited the display gardens, tended by master gardeners, at our local county extension offices. They just happen to be on the same campus where Ty (my eldest) is attending theatre camp. GORGEOUS!!!!! I'm so glad we went! The kiddos brought along their sketch pads and colored pencils and we explored and discovered and just enjoyed some of God's most beautiful creations! And the best part??? The bugs were minimal! I don't know how they do it but there were NO skeeters!!!

2 1/2 hours, + 56 photos + some very sweet drawings done by my children + no bugs = one very enjoyable afternoon!

This evening is gorgeous too! Sleeping with the windows open tonight!

Blessings,

Garsy

Hi Nicole, Amy, Barb, Beckey and Garsy!

It was hot here this week but finally cooled down 2 days ago. I am a very happy camper as a result!

Supposed to get some thunder boomers around here tonight. Quite honestly the radar looks like we should be getting pummelled pretty bad right now, but there is NOTHING but a light misty rain falling. I think the worst of it is south of us. Like they really need more of this junk south of us![&:][8|][8|]

Blessings,

Garsy

It could be what they call ground clutter.

butterfly616 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (7/14/2008 5:55:01 PM)

This morning was overcast, but it's now sunny and warm at 70. Low tonight in the mid 50's.

It's been fairly windy and wet again the past few days. Last night I went to my bf's for a couple hourse and in the time I was there a tree branch fell across their driveway - blocking it so no one could get through. Luckily is was easy to move and didn't land on anyone's car. Top of 15*C again today.

Third day in a row of absolutely GORGEOUS weather! Great temps in the 80's - but VERY low humidity. I know it's not going to last, but that would be SO nice!

We aren't supposed to get any rain until the weekend, if then, but the humidity is supposed to get unbearable starting tomorrow.

Telling my kiddos to keep drinking the fluids! Three out of the four are going to be outside pretty much the better part of the day. Eldest is working at the Zoo and my girls will be at girl scout day camp. Especially my girls - they tend to get dehydrated rather easily so it's big time important for them to keep up with the fluids!

Blessings,

Garsy

Hiya Amy, Garsy, Nicole and last but not least Barb!

Like Nicole, we are going to have temps in the mid 90's here today. I am not looking forward to going out at all! [:(] There will likley be a passing thundershower later on though.

butterfly616 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (7/20/2008 4:28:24 PM)

Thank you for the welcome, humbleinspirit!

It's been foggy all day here. It's a bit humid, but cool for California. Is this summertime?

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (7/20/2008 5:30:44 PM)

Had a HUGE tunderboomer go through at about 6 AM this morning! We had a lightening strike REALLY super close by! It was SO BRIGHT that the lighting was clearly visable even through our room darkening curtains! And LOUD! We lost power but only to the upstairs, garage and AC. But we were able to reset the breakers to all of those. I looked this morning and there is a small black spot on our meter box on the side of the house that I'm going to have to have the electric company come and take a look at! But as quickly as it came it was gone! And we all went back to bed and slept until 10 AM! Whoops we forgot to reset the alarms so we missed church this morning! The neighbor thinks it may have hit his basketball hoop pole too, but he didn't lose any power! All I know is that it hit something REALLY close by as I've NEVER in my life seen lighting so bright!

But all is well today. Hot and muggy, but the humidity is suppose to drop and according to the weather man we are suppose to have a nice week! That would fine by me!

Blessings,

Garsy

No storms here. but alot of humidity yet. We also are suppose to get a drop in that dew point today. Will be good to turn off the CA and open some windows once. The air has been on way to long already. Gonna hate to see that eletric bill [:'(]

amymelissa -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (7/21/2008 7:16:12 PM)

I'd hate to see our electricity bill too, it's been cold so the heaters run whenever we're home. But since no one's home during the day (at school & work) I suppose that helps.

Hi everyone, Drussell here from lower Michigan where it's July 21, 10 p.m. and 62 degrees, mostly dark.. We were in Boston, early April for a week and enjoyed the sites and 2 memories were the No Name Restaurant and attending a Bo-
Socks game at Fenway, what a park.. We have had very few 90+ dgree days, that's all right with me, plenty of rain though, so the sprinkler system has gotten minimal use too. Blessings to each of you. Thanks for letting me "sun" in.

Maybe your in San Francisco in which case that weather would be normal. [8D][;)]

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (7/21/2008 11:51:01 PM)

Hey Drussell!

Here in NorthEast Indiana it is also dark, but the temp is gorgeous! A tiny bit humid, but that is getting better too! We had some rain move through earlier today, but it wasn't major. We are likely going to get more rain tonight but I don't think we are going to have anything major.

I talked to a guy from the electric company today when he was in the neighborhood. He said what likely happened when we lost partial power the other morning was that we have a surge protector on certain breakers and we must have had some sort of arcing from the strike nearby and it tripped the breakers. Good to know and now I'm ready for next time!

Blessings,

Garsy
