Snowing here in Wisconsin. We had 4" last week Monday. Then yesterday it started snowing again, and this morning we have about 5" on the ground..and it's still snowing! The temp. is at 25 degrees so far. I went out to shovel, and them winds are really blowing everything around pretty good. Guess WINTER has arrived [:'(]

sunshine4God -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/1/2008 12:52:06 PM)

Its not bad today but yesterday it was rainy and sleeting also.It was yucky.

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/1/2008 2:24:39 PM)

Drove home through yuckiness yesterday and home to find a little bit of snow on the ground. Lower 30's here today and yucky rain/snow mix.

Blessings,

Garsy

We are in a "deep freeze" around here. Right now it's 5+ degree's. Now that's rather chilly [sm=icon_smile_cold.gif]
Have about 6" of snow on the ground, and more comeing tonight into tomorrow. Another 4" is expected. Guess WINTER found us here in Wisconsin [:'(]

Hi Barb, Garsy and Nicky!

It is snowing here this morning, but it is not really sticking though. It is all gonna turn to a slushy mix eventually anyway.

_Cinderella_ -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/7/2008 5:33:40 PM)

The weather here has been really decent for it being fall. Today it is 50*. So far it has only snowed once in mid-October and not again since. Last weekend I heard some people complaining, "It is December, why isn't there snow?!!?" I call that a blessing! [:D]

sunshine4God -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/7/2008 11:40:54 PM)

We finally got some snow today but only an inch.

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/9/2008 7:58:36 AM)

It's a snow day around here today. Everything is cancelled.
Suppose to get 12" before it stops tonight.
Temps are at 25 degree's.

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/10/2008 9:27:11 AM)

Don't tell me THAT! My parents are supposed to be traveling through Wisconsin in a week to come here to Indiana from Minnesota! I'm praying for good weather next Wednesday!

The weather is WET here. It's been raining for a couple days now. The little creek over by the school is about to overflow it's banks once again and the kids have had two days of indoor recess already. Makes for extremely squirmy kids in the classroom!

Blessings,

Garsy

Garsy,
I'm hopeing it will be better when your folks travel through our great state. Guess we are looking at yet ANOTHER system comeing thru Wisconsin this comeing Monday! If they travel through next Wen. it may all be passed by then.
If they are from Minn. they sure know about snow travel tho.

Deep freeze again today. We are at 5 degree's and the snow fall amount yesterday added up to between 9"-10"

xoxmelxox -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/10/2008 10:52:26 AM)

it's so crazy here, it was 60 a few days ago and last night as I left work, my car was frozen shut! I never know how to dress!

My parents have lived in Minnesota their entire lives! They have seen it all! Growing up there, I've done my fair share of traveling in snow as well. The good thing about Minnesota and Wisconsin tho is that they KNOW how to plow the roads and they do it WELL. I sometimes wonder about Indiana in that regard!

It's cold and rainy here today AGAIN.

Blessings,

Garsy

Well I'm not sure bout what they are doing in Minn....but around here we have a salt shortage. When they plow we don't seem to get any salt/sand mixture. My driveway road is all plowed, but I still can't get up it.
BTW..my mom was from Minn. Way up there by Thief River Falls and St. Hilaire. We used to go up there to visit, every summer. It was a 12 hour trip for us.

prolifepj -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/10/2008 10:24:07 PM)

Here in Dallas, TX.... a few days ago, it was 78.... right now, it's 27. *sigh* hope it snows this year!!!

Johnny_ -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/11/2008 12:53:51 AM)

Today was sunny and 75 degees. Tomorrow, I'm expecting pretty much the same.

Ah good old TRF! I went to college in Bemidji MN and my first roommate was from some itty bitty town up in the TRF area. She was valedictorian of her class. Granted her graduating class was like 12 people or something like that!

My parents live about 2 hours East of Fargo ND. They KNOW snow. I don't know if there are any shortages of salt or sand tho. Here in my local county we are doing okay with that, but there is a county south of us that is seriously limiting their plowing and salting because of finances. My kids school bus driver refuses to travel a couple roads on our route in the winter and if the parents want their kids on the bus they have to take them out to the main road. Those back gravel roads get awfully slick if they are snow and ice covered!

It's just wet and cold here. Wet and cold. Temp is 28 but figuring in the windchill it feels like about 20.

Blessings,

Garsy

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/14/2008 5:24:37 PM)

North and South Dakota and Western and Northern Minnesota are getting hammered right now! I guess there are closed highways everywhere! My mother was sent a message to call before she heads into work tomorrow. We have friends in Moorhead, Minnesota that live about 50 yards from their neighbors house and she was telling me today that she couldn't see her neighbors house because of all the blowing snow! Another friend's father drives a plow for the state and he was called off the roads!

Here it's a beautiful 45 degrees and a bit breezy, and there it's below zero!

Blessings,

Garsy

amymelissa -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/14/2008 5:59:13 PM)

Given that it's summer time here, it rained most of the weekend...a little odd, but good all the same.

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/15/2008 8:59:00 AM)

Garsy,
Yes I heard about all the snow they were getting in Dakota and Minnesota. When are your folks traveling?

We are in a deep freeze again. High today is suppose to be 0 degree's only. Yesterday we had a rather nice day (if you stayed out of the wind)
Hubby was able to shovel off the house roof and clean all the ice out of the rain gutters. I was able to shovel all the ice off the sidewalks. It was melting all over. Even seen a couple patches of grass [8D]

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/15/2008 9:26:04 AM)

They are traveling on Wednesday afternoon late. They have to be present for my nephew's court case that morning [8|]- but that's an entirely different thread!

I talked to my Mom this morning and it was 18 below when dad got up to stock the wood furnace at 4 AM! I guess everything over their way is on at least a 2 hour delay. That doesn't happen very often at all!

We had 53 degree temps at midnight, 40 at 6 AM and down to 23 here at 9:20 AM! The rain turned to sleet and is pretty much ice pebbles right now. My eldest ds's bus was 20 minutes late this morning, but the little kids' was just a few minutes behind schedule! There are a few schools north and west of us that not only called delays, but one district just cancelled classes at one middle school.

Hubby is trying to decide if it's going to be worth the risk to go into town for class just to have to turn around and rush to work. Rushing is NOT a good thing to be doing on a day like today so I think he's going to skip his class. This is finals week and the final was/is a take home project anyway and it's not due til Friday.

Blessings,

Garsy

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/15/2008 11:19:39 AM)

OK..I won't complain about my 0 degree's this morning..nor my 5+ degree's now. At least it's not -18 degree's here [sm=icon_smile_cold.gif]
I know I got up at 2AM to put wood into the fireplace, and hubby got up at 4AM to fill it up again. I will put up with this cold as long as we don't get any freezing rain/ice storms. That stuff is nasty

garsyt -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/15/2008 1:53:01 PM)

It's now 15 according to my thermometer in my kitchen window! BRRR!

Bubbles5 -> RE: The Official 2008 All Inclusive Weather & Chat Thread Café (12/15/2008 2:53:42 PM)

We're having a heat [sm=dance.gif]
I'm up to +9 degree's
