Well, I hope he likes it if he has 4 more years. My cousins all joined the Army after highschool, and none of them stayed. LOL....I know this is totally off topic, but here you go...here is our life so far with the Army..... He was in for three years (I met him when he was in AIT right after Basic training...we were married six months later). When time came for him to sign a new contract there was a problem with his old one...something his recruiter had failed to do...so he had to get out of active duty to fix it. He couldn't get out totally though, so he ended up going National Guard. It was supposed to be a temporary 6 week thing that turned into three and a half years of fighting everything known to man and the Army, including several Senators and Congressmen/women, and pulling every high brass official either of our families knew to get him back in. Finally there was a 12 hour window that his NG commander was able to open up just so that he could get his release paper signed and go back into active duty. It was a HUGE pain, tons of problems, years of trying everything. Finally though he got back in active duty, went to MEPS, and was told that his old MOS was no longer a valid MOS (job) so he had to have a new one. So back to AIT he went...and they kept putting off starting him in classes for four weeks. Finally on the fourth week someone looked at his file, told him his MOS required more training then the new one, that he was overqualified already, and two days later he called me from Germany. So we didn't have much notice of anything that was going on. Because of more paperwork problems it took three months to get me and the kids to Germany (I was pregnant with Emma then and the day I left was the last day my dr would let me fly that distance).. SO......he officially has 10 years in so far, but not all of that is active duty.
