Ah, back up into the 60's here today... still down from our normal in the 70's, but at least I can put the coat back in the closet.

They're threating more snow, but so far all we've seen is a light sprinkle. Hopefully it'll dry out enough to start doing some yardwork soon. Sometimes it goes straight into a rainy season and its muddy until May.

Yep, I had to winch the other day. I heard the word, "mulch" mentioned around here!

I was going to ask if you mean wince or wench? Then I looked up winch and found an archaic definition meaning wince. But then if you had a wench to do the mulch for you...

Oh not at all! You just have the wrong kind of toys... err, I mean tools.

Actually, grandson from next door is doing our mowing. Now maybe I can get him to help spread mulch this spring.

Now THAT'S a mower! Thought maybe he was going to take off down the highway when he was finished.

$50 an hour should do it.

All this mower talk has brought me back to a childhood memory of being ran over by a John Deere mower that my dad was operating. He had finished mowing and I ran up to him, on wet grass no less, and slipped and my leg was caught under the mower.

Thankfully, the blades were off.

You are lucky, I lost the tip of my "bird" finger due to a tractor incident when 14 or so. Funny thing, I thought I only pinched my hand, it hurt like shutting your hand hard into a desk drawer... until I pulled my hand out from under my arm and saw the blood. That's when the brain reacted to the image received.

Any of you paintball? I took my two boys to a paintball combat place yesterday. It was a blast.

Kind a pricey to get in though... $20 per head plus you had to buy their paintballs. Maybe I ought to open up a paintball battle & kilt making business. I'd probably have enough money to retire in a month or two.

I love to paintball, but i have only done so twice in my life because of the cost. it is so much fun though. if you just do it once a year as kind of a treat, it would not be too expensive, and a great thing to look forward to!

Last year, my youth pastor and and some of us older guys went paintballing... with slingshots.

There's no better way to get prepared for a game of paintball than to watch Monty Python's How Not To Be Seen.

So I finally bought the riding lawn mower. Didn't go with Snapper, but I did go with the rear-engine design. Sears is very convenient for me. While Sears is carrying the Snapper line now, they don't have the rear-engine rider from Snapper. I bought the Craftsman. It was on sale for $300 off. Also I bought a dethatcher.
