(Ray fires up the snow-blower. The garage fills with wafts of light smoke as the engine warms up.)

Cough! Hack!

(Denny's eyes are burning) Ah, but that's a pleasant smell anyway.

Got home last night and a neighbor had snow-blowed my driveway.

But I thought of two other neighbors whose driveways weren't done yet. When the wife asked where I was going, I said that I was going to spend some quality time with my snowblower.

Yeah, we've got plenty of firewood out there. There's about two full cords split and under a tarp. And there's another eight or ten cords that need split. Anybody need some exercize? I'm sure there's an axe...er...I mean splitting maul around here somewhere. (Actually I usually use a sledge hammer and wedges>).

Dang Ray, you need to spend $$$$ on a log splitter rather than a mower. Go in with your neighbor and get a good one, that's what we did. $1,500 between 3 neighbors, and we have wood splitting parties.

My snow thrower stunk yesterday!!! I had to pull the shovel out on some parts. It's good on the powdery real cold and light snow. But the heavy wet stuff, it couldn't move to save it's life.

Just disappointed in it.

I need a more powerful one, but we plan on moving down south where I won't need one again. Right now I live outside of Detroit, MI.

My son-in-law has been very helpful.

Howdy neighbor!

Yeah, the snowblower won't pump out the slush very well.

Oh oh, I see the fire has gone out.

(Denny gets a load of wood from out back and starts another roaring fire in the stove)

Well, I see the only thing left in the fridge is Spicy V-8. Think I'll have some popcorn and a V-8.

Now there's a combination...tabasco infused popcorn and spicy V8 to wash it down.

It's warmed up here enough that we're getting rain instead of snow. Everything's melted off, but the ground is still froze and the water is really making a mess of things. Days like these are when my sump pump is trying to pump down Lake Erie.

Was 70 here yesterday, but in the wee hours of the AM we had horrible storms and tornadoes near by. Getting cold again, from A/C to heat in the same day... but glad the rough stuff is gone.

*gets a stick to poke in the fire, burns knuckle hair off, and tosses in a Black Cat to watch everyone jump. POP!

Yep, our warm spell is over now. Another 3 months of winter I spose. Got any more of those cats we can put in the fire?

Try it. Get a big FAT green stalk and cut it so that you have a section between the rings uncut. It takes a couple of minutes, just when everyone is backed up to the camp fire and warming their buns.... BOOM!!!

My brother and I found out what it does when we were about 8 or 9. On a "camp out" in the back yard, we ran out of fire wood. But, we had plenty of Bamboo... dry AND green.
..... .....
