Hey Jeannie! Mike, glad you got a good nap. I also remember when places were closed on July 4th (and Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter).

ORIGINAL: awed Beautiful pictures Sharon-Marie! I didn't realize that the trunks of aspens were so like the trunks of birch trees! The shots of the daffodils were great and of course the mountains were awe inspiring. The buffalo looked like he was having a bad hair day! LOL! And triple awwwwwwww at that precious chipmunk. You did a great job at getting so close to your subjects in some of them. Thanks for sharing them. Sharon, I've noticed that also about aspens and birch . . . they really are so similar! The daffodils . . . a neat story . . . all the shots of the daffodils were from my first host and hostess' property (Don and Jo). Jo LOVES daffodils! 30 years ago, Don husband planted some of them in their meadow ("back yard") and in their front yard (were the Aspens & the daffodils are). Each "Spring", they come up again AND each year, there's more of them than there was the year before. And the animals (moose, deer, elk) don't bother them (the daffodils are actually poisonous), but they don't even trample them either. It's so cool Buffalo . . . he really was having a bad day. In fact, I hope that Our Lord put him down. He was a very old buffalo . . . and he was the last of his little group (about 5) that crossed the road. To cross the road, the bison had to climb (the equivalent of about 3 steps, except a natural landscape incline) to first get to the road. This poor buff . . . he could barely do it. And then we noticed that he was limping so very badly and favoring his front left leg. We could see him grimace every time he took a step. But God bless him, he was bound and determined to keep up with his friends (and they were good about waiting for him). It was so sweet and so touching and so sad. Bobbie and I both had tears in our eyes and lumps in our throats.

Sharon-Marie, the marathon is wonderful! I'm taking a break from it right now, but I'll be getting back to it soon. What a great day this is! Haven't looked at your pictures yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Sharon-Marie, I loved the friendly tree. How did you get so close to the moose? The farthest west I've been is Missouri though I have been to Texas. Where is Jackson? Hope you don't mind me peeking in here. My name is Ginny and I'm a friend of Maggie and Leah. Ginny

I love this one! I've seen other sites with tons of stuff. Hats, mugs, just about anything you can think of. Someone also sent me a link to a Mr. Bill store. quote:
there's a Twilight Zone marathon on the SciFi channel I caught a couple of episodes last night. I never seem to catch my favorites, the Chatty Kathy doll and the one with Will Mumy (from Lost In Space). And of course my all time fave with Burgess Meredith the librarian. Rod Serling waa a genius, truly. The pictures are incredible. There aren't words.

Hey Beckey! I would love to go to Denali State Park . . . even without the "modern comforts" BTW, have you ever been there when you were in Alaska? No, I was just about to turn 3 when we left Alaska, so I didn't get to see much of it at all. That's one of the reasons why I want to go back so badly.

Do you mean the one where he as a little monster who kept "sending people to the cornfield"? I saw that one today too. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the Burgess Meredith/librarian one. That's one of my favorites too!
