Beautiful pictures Sharon-Marie! I didn't realize that the trunks of aspens were so like the trunks of birch trees!
The shots of the daffodils were great and of course the mountains were awe inspiring.
The buffalo looked like he was having a bad hair day! LOL! And triple awwwwwwww at that precious chipmunk. You did a great job at getting so close to your subjects in some of them.

Thanks for sharing them.

Pam and Sharon . . . how's the marathon watching going?

Jeannie - how are y'all enjoying the 4th in your neck of the woods?

Hey Sharmar! Y'all! I have a rare holiday off! It was a pleasant surprise.
WOW, Steve! I hope you have been enjoying your day off!

I'm going to just move at whatever pace I want today.
Not to celebrate or anything... it's just what I seem to do when I don't have to go to work. LOL!
Sharon, I hope your day has been very relaxing as well.

Hey Sharon-Marie, I just looked at the Jackson Hole Town Square and it looks like a parade. There are a lot of people on the street. I love visiting that site. Maybe I can go there some day.
Hey Judy!

I love Jackson's parades. I'm not usually a fan of parades . . . to long; to crowded, etc. And I don't like watching parades from t.v. because I want to just watch the parade without all the jabbering that the commentators do - LOL! But I really love Jackson's parade.

I always got a good seat too . . . on Jack's front porch swing. His coffee shop is at the end of the route and less people are there than at The Square . . . so it's very ideal for me.

I've been in 3 of Jackson's parades; twice with CS (once he dressed up as a mountain man and I dressed up as an Indian; he played his Indian flute and I played the Indian hand drums . . . and once he dressed up again as a mountain man and I dressed up as a turn-of-the century pioneer woman) and once in the past couple of years, I rode in the Historical Society's antique Yellowstone bus. It's a lot of fun to be in a small-town parade.

I hope you and your hubby had a great day today? Do y'all have any plans tonight?

The webcam seems to have changed "management". Did anyone else notice that it wasn't refreshing as often as it used to?

Happy 4th y'all!

SM, I thought of you last night. I was watching a show on PBS about the National Parks and they were at the Jackson Lake Lodge......I soooo want to go there now! It was just breathtaking. But you already know that. They also went to Denali State Park.....awesome! Their cabins (and outhouses - yeah, no plumbing or electricity, but still pretty nice) all have a view of Mt. McKinley. I want to go there too. An outhouse with a view, who could ask for more.
Hey Beckey! I would love to go to Denali State Park . . . even without the "modern comforts"

BTW, have you ever been there when you were in Alaska?

Jackson Lake Lodge is a neat place; it's where I worked when I first came to Jackson; very pretty inside . . . and of course the outside views are absolutely spectacular!

How is Miss Cherry Limeade doing with the new space in her mouth?

Hey Jeannie!

Mike, glad you got a good nap.

I also remember when places were closed on July 4th (and Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter).

Sharon, I've noticed that also about aspens and birch . . . they really are so similar!

The daffodils . . . a neat story . . . all the shots of the daffodils were from my first host and hostess' property (Don and Jo). Jo LOVES daffodils! 30 years ago, Don husband planted some of them in their meadow ("back yard") and in their front yard (were the Aspens & the daffodils are). Each "Spring", they come up again AND each year, there's more of them than there was the year before. And the animals (moose, deer, elk) don't bother them (the daffodils are actually poisonous), but they don't even trample them either. It's so cool

Buffalo . . . he really was having a bad day. In fact, I hope that Our Lord put him down.
He was a very old buffalo . . . and he was the last of his little group (about 5) that crossed the road.
To cross the road, the bison had to climb (the equivalent of about 3 steps, except a natural landscape incline) to first get to the road.
This poor buff . . . he could barely do it. And then we noticed that he was limping so very badly and favoring his front left leg. We could see him grimace every time he took a step. But God bless him, he was bound and determined to keep up with his friends (and they were good about waiting for him). It was so sweet and so touching and so sad. Bobbie and I both had tears in our eyes and lumps in our throats.

Sharon-Marie, the marathon is wonderful! I'm taking a break from it right now, but I'll be getting back to it soon. What a great day this is!

Haven't looked at your pictures yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

((((((Buff))))))

Makes the picture all the more endearing.

I have a hard time watching animal shows. I know is all the cycle of nature, but sometimes, I just don't want to watch. *sigh*

That is cool about the daffodils!

Yes, my day has been relaxing. Too relaxing. I am eating too much for the little physical output I am outputing.

I am watching Capitol 4th on PBS. Listening to all the music.
I keep peeking in on What Not To Wear marathon too.

Sharon-Marie, I loved the friendly tree. How did you get so close to the moose?

The farthest west I've been is Missouri though I have been to Texas. Where is Jackson?

Hope you don't mind me peeking in here. My name is Ginny and I'm a friend of Maggie and Leah.

Hey y'all . . .

For those of y'all who do NOT want to look at my photos from my trip to Jackson, do NOT click on the below link.

For those of y'all who DO want to see them, y'all might want to click on the link below.

I didn't upload all 313 of them (aren't y'all glad?) . . . I think there's 119 of them to view.

HERE's the link.

OH . . . I loaded them in sequential order (from May 29th to June 27th) . . . however, they show as being from June 27th to May 29th . . . so if you want to view them in the correct order, you'll need to view them, uhm, backwards.

Now, I shall go catch up on the posts in here, catch up on other threads and perhaps eat some eggs for dinner. There may even been a nap in there somewhere.

See y'all later.

Wow!!!!!!!

Incredible!!!!!!!!

Your pictures make me terribly homesick for the Sierras.

You are a wonderful photographer!!!!!!!

Hey Ginny!

Welcome to Zooneyland and thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back again.

Meet the loons. Loons . . . Y'all, say say hey to Ginny, please.

Jackson, WY . . . under the shadow of the majestic Grand Tetons.
(Hope the link keeps the zoom that I chose so that you get an idea of where in Wyoming . . . if it didn't, Jackson is somewhat Northwest in Wyoming)

edited: Nope, the zoom didn't keep, but if you click down 2 or 3 buttons towards the bottom of the zoom slide (on the left of the map at mapquest's site), you can get a better visual of where it is in the state).

I love this one! I've seen other sites with tons of stuff. Hats, mugs, just about anything you can think of. Someone also sent me a link to a Mr. Bill store.

I caught a couple of episodes last night. I never seem to catch my favorites, the Chatty Kathy doll and the one with Will Mumy (from Lost In Space). And of course my all time fave with Burgess Meredith the librarian. Rod Serling waa a genius, truly.

The pictures are incredible. There aren't words.

Truly everything I learned about photography, I learned from CS.
And he most definitely was quite an excellent photographer, so I'm tickled pink to hear you say that to me.

No, I was just about to turn 3 when we left Alaska, so I didn't get to see much of it at all. That's one of the reasons why I want to go back so badly.

Bill, do you mean the "Talking Tina" with Telly Savalas? I saw that today for the first time.

Also, Bill Mumy was in a bunch of episodes. Do you mean the one where he as a little monster who kept "sending people to the cornfield"? I saw that one today too.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen the Burgess Meredith/librarian one. That's one of my favorites too!
