I was feeling a bit of insecurity about my appearance yesterday and my husband said to me, "I love you just the way you are. I wouldn't change a thing." Then when I got home from work he held me and told me that I was "everything he ever wanted in a wife." That really made my day!

We had a tropical storm come through yesterday, and during all of it my hubby let me sleep and he took care of the kids. Talk about some very much needed rest- he is such a dear.

This didn't really make me melt but we sure had a lot of fun. A week or so ago my husband had a week off of work and one of the things he wanted to do was buy two innertubes and go floating down the river. So he and a buddy did exactly that and had a great time doing it. So last weekend he tried to get one of my sons to go with him but they were both busy so I volunteered. WOOHOO!!! That was soooo fun. There were about 6 or so chutes that we had to go through and I just loved it. I highly encourage all you married ladies to find something that you can do together that will give you an adrenaline rush. We laughed ourselves silly. The river is running quite low right now and we ended up getting out of the river and hiking the last mile or so. I have plantars fasciitis and I did not have good shoes on but we hiked it anyway. I was all hopped up on endorphins so my feet were feeling no pain at the time. The next morning was a different story though! Despite having VERY sore feet all week I am so glad I went and we are already trying to figure out when we can go again.

I started my first job in years, being away from the boys and him is difficult for me (and him as well). I walked in the door and he ran past me to his car. He came back with an ice cold pop, offered me some candy and offered to grill me a sandwich. I noticed too that he had the suv all loaded, cooler, canoe, fishing poles and even bought bait and was waiting for me to get home so we could all go fishing. Not only that but for him it involved dealing with a difficult carseat switcharoo and taking toddlers to buy supplies. I was elated to receive this much- 99% of the time I plan the outings, prepare the cooler etc. And just knowing he was waiting for ME to go fishing made me feel like the most important person on earth! 42servehim-you got it right, grab those innertubes, or poles and canoe or whatever common ground you can find and have a blast......Too bad we got rained out!

Just watching my husband live out daily what I thought he was when we were going together.

My father died on Aug. 1. I was off work the following week to be with mom and make preparations for his memorial. Monday I went back to work. When I got home after a busy day, my husband had dinner cooking (bbq ribs, mac&cheese, broccoli), and he'd already mowed the front and back lawn. After dinner he took our 3-yr old son on his bike w/training wheels to the neighborhood park for at least a half hour while I was able to shower and relax.

I love it when I find him staring at me with the "wow, you're so beautiful to me" gaze. It makes me feel wonderful.

My husband grilled melt-in-my-mouth salmon tonight -- does that count?

Too bad we couldn't get our men together for a day at the grill.

Soccerguy told me he loves me. Amidst our hectic life with eleven of our sixteen kids at home all day, every day, including stay-over friends, I found all the world was good.

Thanks, honey!

My not-so-romantic husband came in the house after all of his friends left- and pulled me close to him and started twirling me around and singing the song _you never close your eyes when we kiss anymore- and then kissed me

We have a new foster baby at home. As in, we brought him home straight from the hospital when he was 2 weeks old, NEW. This is our first child of any kind to have around, and I'm sure you all know that there have been MAJOR changes in our life over the last 2 months since this happened. While I was freaking out the day after we brought baby Will home (what have we done? WHY would they give us a NEW HUMAN when we've never had any before??? Are we crazy?), DH was taking it all in stride and taking care of the baby so I could have my meltdown. Here's what makes me melt in a good way:

Every night we take turns sleeping with the baby, I get him from 10pm-2:30-ish and DH stays with him for the rest of the night. This ensures that we each get a decent rest for the next day, or so I thought. For the first 3 weeks, DH was really, really tired in the mornings but still his normal happy self. One day I finally mentioned that I would stay with the baby for a whole night if he wanted to rest really well. He told me he didn't think that was fair because then I wouldn't get any sleep at all. I replied that I thought it would be fine for one night since I can sleep between feedings. He looked at me really strangely and said "We can sleep between feedings? I thought we were supposed to be watching him". No wonder he was so tired!!! He was holding and staring at the baby all night! I gently explained that he doesn't need to be watched 24/7, we can get SOME sleep. He has totally fallen in love with this little guy, and it's just made me love him even more.

Lucyk, I love your story. How precious and sweet!!!

What made me melt recently is that, after we both got off work one day, my husband decided he wanted to make me a bubble bath. I haven't had anyone run my bath since I was a small child! He even laid out a fresh bath mat. It made me slow down and relax instead of having a shower and immediately going to read blogs!

Last night i was ready to turn in early but he wasn't. i said good nite to him and he said that he would lay down with me until I fell asleep. He knows i sleep better when i can feel him next to me. (We've only been married 3 weeks). It turned out that within 10 minutes i was still awak and he was already snorning.

Wow, I am so glad to see that this thread is still going! You guys have NO idea how happy that makes me!!!

I stop in to this site every one and a while and see what is going on. It has helped me many times when I needed some inspiration!

I would like to add a new one for me:

The other day my hubby was home painting the house all day, when I got home we we just finishing up. I know that he hates the clean-up part so I offered to clean the brush and tray out for him. I went into the bathroom and sat beside the tub and started cleaning them out. As he walked by he stopped to ask what I wanted for dinner. I answered, and turned back to keep cleaning. I thought that he left to start making dinner, but he actually had stayed there. He stood there, in the bathroom doorway watching me. When I finally turned and noticed he was still there, he said "I just couldn't stop looking at you, you are so beautiful!"

I almost went down the drain with the paint from melting so much!

I love working with my husband. He just walked by my desk and stopped to just look at me. I asked him if he needed anything and he said no, he just wanted to look at his wife.

Last night, as I was doing some cleaning and chores around the house, my husband stopped me and gave me a big hug and thanked me for working so hard. He had just mowed the lawn a few hours earlier, so I thanked him, too!

We went to a small group meeting last night. It was our first time with this study. It was just so heartwarming to hear him say out loud how precious we are to God and how He treats us as a Dad, etc. The insights that m'love shared almost made me cry.
