I only saw 1 girl who showed any potential at all. The rest was wasted airtime. I hope the competition heats up fast!

I was pleased to see less drugged behavior from Paula, and less picking on Simon by other judges. All the theatrics from the judges last year was distracting to me. So far though, the contestants don't seem any better than last year's bunch.

I like the first guy, the girl who's a backup singer for Taylor, the tall blonde girl from Oregon, the stay home Mom and the single Mom with a sick child. 'have to admit some were funny- like the guy with the low voice but the rest were just PSYCHOTIC. I'm worried that one of these days they will have someone who will get overboard and harm one of the judges. I also don't understand when Randy and Paula seems to patronize some of them like the guy who had his chest hair pulled. It's just plain stupid. It was obvious that Simon was not to get in any of those antics. The stalker guy, why even allow him....the guys is obviously a lunatic. I'm also worried about that 39 year old guy who wrote that one song and he's suppose to be a social worker. I hope he's not a social worker for kids. The audition process is almost like a Jerry Springer show. Let's get over this and just move to Hollywood.

I thought there was a nice blend of real competitors and "crazies." I'm glad everyone is being nicer. Why in the world did the chick with the silver eyeshadow get so bent out of shape? They were actually quite nice and encouraging to her. The "let my people go" guy...um...that was weird.

I've never seen a "crazy" contestant that came off as more fake than her. At least the chest-hair guy admitted that he was only there 'cause he thought it would be entertaining. This chick was completely "actressing" ... and she wasn't very good at it, either.

Get this...the 39 year old is from my town. When we saw the town, DH and i were very shocked. Everyone at work was talking about him. He's even listed in the phone book LOL.

For Simon's lack of caring emotion, I must tip my hat to him for how he handled the situation w/ Temperess (?). He was very polite to her. I was almost shocked. I could not at all understand the art chick freaking out over Simon. I didn't hear anything from him that should have led her to her tirade. She probably planned that from the get go to get her 3 minutes in the spotlight. I was worried about the chest hair guy. I'm glad Simon stopped him at the beginning of his song. I was afraid it would turn into a striptease! But, yeah I'm glad they had the "Let My People Go" guy taped. That was just hysterical!

That I don't know, I hope not either. Since he is local, maybe more information on him will come about.

Say what you will about Paula, Randy and Simon...I would not want their jobs! The video of those thousands of people filing in for auditions made me very grateful to not be one of them!

I've said it a few times, there isn't enough money in the world to make me sit through that. I can't even take what they show on tv, and that's not even the tip of the ice berg.

The "Let my people go" guy sounded to me like he had no use of his tongue. But he left thinking it was his song choice, and vowed to be back next year with "less Christian and more contemporary".... The princess leiah girl was weird. She couldn't sing, but went on a tirade about it all being based on looks.

So... Did Simon suddenly get a lot nicer? He seems to be holding back. What happened? Did I miss a law suit?

Yup - Simon is a lot nicer so far. 'was funny though when he sang that Elliot Yamin's song. I don't understand why the girl who sang Janis got in. I'm assuming sympathy because of her accident? The guy who has the key for his future wife, I thought he was good and I was surprised that he did not make it. The 'I am your brother'-- that was so funny. I've never seen Simon laughed that much in this show. He's the new William Hung, except he actually can sing.

"I Am Your Brother" stuck in my head all night long!!! I don't think that's the last we'll see or hear of that audition. It's probably all over youtube and I'm sure they'll play clips and possibly have that guy back for the finale. So did ya'll see Colton?!?!? His mama was my best childhood friend. If you think Colton can sing, YOU SHOULD HEAR HER!!!!! Wow!

Which one is Colton? What did he sing? And yes, it's in you tube- my son fell asleep last night so I have to show it to him when he gets home this afternoon.

He was in the second hour--about halfway through it. He sang something that has "Boondocks" in the title and Simon said he could go either way. Then he asked them to shout rejection stuff to fool his parents. He talked about singing in a band with his brother, and they are EXCELLENT. They're both very talented songwriters.

Okay I remember him now. He reminds me of Daughtry with a country flare. Good looking kid too.
