Kerr, I was actually going to ask about posting your poem so I'd love it if you would do that. I thought it was really sweet and, since I'm the birthday girl, my opinion's the one that counts, right?

I think Lynn must be older than she says. She apparently forgot the words to Happy Birthday and only remembered the first line.

Well at least I was kind enough not to put you through the torture of me singing Happy Birthday.

But Sam, you are the true singer in the group. The baritone. And you did not sing???

I never argue with a woman during her birthday week.

Birthday Ode to Sony*

"S" is for Sony, so sweet and sincere,
and for Southern Gospel (which she likes to hear).

"0" is for: Only if we could be there, and
oh, what a time of love and good cheer.

"N" is next Friday, your Happy Birthday, and
nicely we'll treat you - every which way.

"Y" is for youthful, always you'll be,
young looking forever, like Cindy and me.

*An original Kerrlaw poem for those who aren't too particular about meter...or rhythm...or rhyme...or structure...or tense.

Sam, now I feel really bad. In thinking through the people who might call, I had planned to ask you to sing if you called but I guess I had another senior moment and totally forgot. (I think I was just surprised that I was actually talking to Sam Johnson!) I wish you would have sang. I would have loved it! (Lest you forget, you had posted your singing a while back and I thought it was pretty good.)

Isn't Kerr's poem sweet? (As I beam since I'm the recipient.)

Way to go Kerr...do you write up your legal briefs in the same manner?? If so I'm sure you've entertained more than one judge!

Maybe he should write poems for the judge and earn brownie points that way.

You've been serenaded quite a bit this week, Sony...how cool!

Even GB sang 2 or 3 songs for you.

I know. I still smile when I think of GB singing her medley.

I hate admitting this but since Kerr's hanging around, this will be my confession. I feel so the opposite but, for some reason, "It's My Party" (the song) has been going through my head. I'm sure it's just the party thing; the rest of the song doesn't fit at ALL!

Thank you. It's been wonderful to have people to celebrate with me all week. Usually I feel out of place dancing around with a big smile on my face and everyone asking, "Yes?" I say, "My birthday's (whenever)." "Oh."

Donna & Kerr, I love your poems! You guys are talented!
Sony's online party will be Saturday afternoon in the Geezer's thread (where else? ) around 1:00 where everyone can tell their stories and all secrets will be told, right Daniel?
BTW, the theme song will be "Forever Young." I have no idea if Sony likes that song, but I do.
For those of you who don't know it, you can listen here:

Very nice, Bethany!

BTW, that song AND that video is what got me really paying attention to Rod Stewart. I love the song, the words, the video; it's just wonderful.

I will definitely try to make it to the party on Saturday.

There's still tomorrow though - Sony's REAL birthday. I can't wait to read about tomorrow's events.

Have a lot of fun, y'all!
