I've very hopeful this month. It seems that I may be gearing up to O today or tomorrow, based on my last chart (based on days after AF left) and I'm feeling it, I think. I'm just praying for a longer LP this month, as well as a better "report card". :-) So... we'll see. Ahh, yes, the waiting game again.

Yes, according to OPK's I did at cd 12. I don't usually have a problem ovulating, or at least having the hormones that make me ovulate, so it's just frustrating waiting because now (after my surgery in May) we don't know what the hold up is. Good luck with your wait!

I wonder when I'll get let in on the plan though?

Although I've been wondering if my cysts are back (or something) because I've had a fair amount of pain lately and usually that only used to occur from ovulation until period. Then I'd get a break for a week or so. Not so this month....

yes, of course. He actually got tested long before I even made my first appointment to see my doc.

I wish I could say the same about my DH....especially since I have had a doctor tell me that it's more likely HIM than me (as I've already had a child...DH has none). Me...I'm not too sure about that....but....guess we'll continue to find out more as time goes by.

No, DH hasn't been tested for anything. We haven't quite gotten that desperate yet... and again, the whole living in a foreign country thing makes everything more difficult. For that matter, I haven't been tested for anything yet, either. Not yet, at least. I'm sure I'll get tested for stuff before he will, though. Has anyone ever seen those male home tests, that test their motility and such... are the accurate? I know they say that are, but anyone can say that.

I'm getting really irritated... my temps have flat lined and not budged for 3 days! I thought I was getting ready to O, but I guess not... argh. Waiting, waiting, waiting...

I have not studied those "at home" tests much, but based on what they say that they test, and what tests David has had... I would not go with a home test.

2 reasons: the lab tests tested more than just total number + motility... that does not give you an accurate picture of what's going on with him... it actually can be misleading. (unless you know a test that looks at more than that, I've only seen those)
The second reason for us was that it was much much cheaper to just go to the doctor and have the test done. Here those tests are fairly expensive.

I am not familiar with the home tests, but I can't imagine that they would be anyting similar to what get's tested at the dr's office. You get a whole printout of things.

I don't understand why there would be a hesitation to get tested. It's just another peice of the puzzle that you need to uncover. I can understand how those things might be different in another country though, especially just the logistics of it with a different medical system. It's MUCH easier to find out what's wrong with the male than the female, that's for sure. Wouldn't it be nice if all we had to do was take one little test and we would know what the problem is? women just get the short end of the stick, don't they?

David may not have *wanted* to be tested, but neither did I, but we both knew that it was time.

The tests the doctors do are WELL worth it.

I'm back to CD2.

I just got back from the doctor. (clomid check) It was awful... terrible... painful!!!!
The person I normally see if the nurse practioner, she's on vacation until next week.
My doctor was unavailable because he was "booked".
I saw another nurse, who said her specialty was in finding the egg sack in pregnant women, and dealing with early pregnancy things. She didn't have much knowledge of infertility. I informed her of many things, and told her what the regular person does. She had to go ask my doctor for his opinion on what to do for me. Then she came back and did the exam.

First, my regular person never uses a speculum. This woman did... but she didn't really tell me beforehand that she was going to. She was saying that she wanted to check my cervix, but before it could register that she was using a speculum, it was in, and I was yelling "OUCH!" "OW!!!!!!" She apologized that it hurt, but didn't adjust what she was doing at all. Then she did an internal exam, and basically did the same thing. Before I could saying anything she was already hurting me, and I was again yelling ow and ouch... um loudly. I was near tears. She said that she wished there were a way to do exams without taking our clothing off, like that there was just some machine that could examine us without us having to go through the internal exams... because she understood that it was painful. Then she was pressing around really very hard, while asking me to try to relax. Then she did the ultrasound, internal again. She just sort of shoved it in, and I yelled, and started to cry. I again said ouch, and she just talked. She never adjusted what she was doing.

Until today, my worst experience with an internal type of gyn. exam was the very first one. This one topped that one in pain, and just for the mere fact that even if it hurt, she wouldn't adjust.

I still kind of have pain there... and it's far from pleasant.
I called David, and he said I should complain to the office.. or to the doctor or something.

I'm pretty sure we're out this month...we'll see where things go in the coming weeks though.

Gina, that's horrible! I'm so sorry!!! See, stories like this just make me even LESS interested in getting all checked out, especially in a foreign country & language! Argh! I would surely complain... that's uncalled for.

Well, I don't know what's going on again. I was nice and flat & stable, had a nice small rise yesterday, right on target, so I figured we were doing well temp wise, but then it fell back down again today... so I have no idea. Ah, the joys...er, uh, hm... joy doesn't seem quite right there, does it?

my mom told me yesterday that she had read in a couple of places (but she couldn't remember where) that certain infertility issues could be made less, in women, if they drank whole milk. I find that interesting. I'm gonna have to look it up.

Clomid is FAR from pleasant this cycle. ugh!!!

I found basically the same info/article on several sites, but this is one of them. =)

Basically it says that whole milk might help in situations where ovulatory failure is suspected... while skim or low fat milk/milk products actually might harm the process.

One more thing against me... I can't drink milk at all. *sigh* I'm so frustrated right now I could scream. I'm starting to dread temping in the morning... I have no idea what's going on. Do you ever feel like you're always the exception to the rule, in all the areas of your life? Like, why can't ONE thing in my life be normal? grr

Lydia, I often feel like the exception rather than the rule.... especially in the medical world... although I am normal in many respects. =)

I feel just awful today. My stomach is the main problem... it feels very painful/crampy in general... not just where the ovaries are... like from my rib cage down... it all hurts. *sigh*

I've finished my clomid this cycle. Now we wait for ovulation... starting OPK's on Sunday or Monday. We will likely attempt an IUI this cycle as well.... that should be.............. interesting.

Sorry you're hurting so much today. I know I was in a fair amount of pain this morning, so I'm really thinking AF will be here this weekend...not sure though.

Well....my temps are whacko whacko IMO. I had a "dip" yesterday, followed by a rise today. If FF is correct, that would only be 5 days after O. Guess time will tell....
