Hi, Sheila! I just found out about your Thread from your Post in Maggie's Musings, so I thought I'd pop in for a minute. I'm glad that Danielle has found some support for her grief - that's very important for the healing process. I think abour her every now and again, and pray for her. That's going to be a hard process for her, but having you and Craig for support, as well as her hubby, this other grieving mother, and all of os us at Crosswalk, will help to ease the load. Speaking of easing a load, can I share something with you? One of my long-time friends at church, a former offensive tackle for Penn State, told our men's prayer group on Satruday morning that he has a tumor in his stomach (approx. 4") that's eaten through the stomach wall and is butting up aginst his liver. His doctor gives him 4-6 months to live without treatment, 1-2 years if the treatment is effective, and the same 4-6 months if it's not. It's the first time that I can remember seeing him cry over anything, other than in intercession for this nation or repentance over his sin. And he wasn't crying because he's afraid to die, but over the fact that this is going to be a hard fight. Needless to say, it was an extremely emotional moment for every man there. Our elders laid hands on him and anointed him with oil for healing, but our overriding prayer was for God's glory to be revealed and magnified through this whole trial. Sorry about rambling for a minute there, but I just needed to let you all know of this need. If you think about it, please pray for Criag Lyle, his wife (Janet) and 3 sons (David, Seth, and Timothy). Ask God for His healing mercy to flow over Craig to remove the tumor, but if greater glory for God is realized by Craig not being healed, then let His will be done. Thanks, my friends! Duane

Sheila, I'm so glad that Danielle has found another mum to share with. I can't begin to understand what you're all going through. Praying, Duane.

How precious that the Lord has given Danielle a friend and they understand one another's pain. Cool that you have reunited with your friend, Sheila, and are having a great time talking and ministering together! Praying, Duane.

Thank you all for your continued prayers for Danielle. I called today and told her that I decided so that it would be easier for her to express how she is feeling we will now use a scale... 0 being really sad, 10 feeling really good.... and after she laughed at me I asked her how she was today and she said "9", that she had a really good day. Adam had the day off and they went to a movie (one they had seen before and really liked) and then just walked around the mall. Duane, I will certainly be in prayer for your friend!!! Praying for you today too, Sharon. I read your thread. ((((((Sharon))))))

Thanks Sharon, Boston does have a ministry for the homeless called Starlight ministries. While they provide for the areas homeless, they also meet their needs by giving out food, clothing, etc. I blogged about them a couple of years back. I will be taking one of their training courses soon.

That's right, they go where the people are! They actually have "church" in the streets of Boston, singing songs, etc. Homelessness is a big problem in Boston, and they are one of the ministries making a difference in the area.

Thanks for answering for me, Sharon since I didn't get on last night at all. We watched a movie together. And, yes, Loaves and Fishes is served in a local church. It used to be at the Salvation Army but something happened that we had to relocate. There is a number of local churches that take turns serving food that they donate. Ours is just one. I don't know much about this end of it, but I do konw there is a sign up list and people must have to qualify and be registered for how many people are in their family so that we have enough food to give out...otherwise some would take a weeks worth and we would run out for others. That's mainly the case for the "carry out" meals. We serve those first and then we service sit down meals. If we have leftovers after all the sit downs get some, then we will hand out containers of those leftovers for people to take home with them. I got a call from Angela yesterday at work (my oldest daughter) and she told me that "she almost died Monday night". Apparantly she had some kind of SERIOUS allergic reaction to something. They are still not sure what. She is guessing either Welbutrin or maybe chemicals from a new washcloth that she had used that hadn't been washed yet. They are going to have her go through some allergy tests to try to figure it out. PRAISE GOD she is alive and well!!! I know I had that happen a few years back from Penicillin and it was similar to her experience and we both agreed how VERY scary it was!!!! It's like you are fine (literally) one minute and you body is shutting down and closing up everything all at once!!! She said that they had the thoughts that "they need to move where they have family locally" after this!! I asked why she didn't call Danielle because she lives nearby, but she didn't want to bother her with all that she has been through. But anyway, she said the doctor wasn't sure "which way it was going to go".... again.... Praise God that she is alive and made it through that!!! OK....gotta get ready for work again!!

Oh my, Sheila -- how scary that must have been for her! I'm certainly glad she is okay now. It's good to hear Danielle has found a friend and is coping well. That has to be so hard.
