I am proud to say that I will vote for any one, of any faith, of any race, of either gender, if their views on government are close to or the same as mine.
As it should be.[sm=thumbsup.gif]

As it should be? According to what? God's law? Man's law?

John

That doesn't change the fact that a man whose faith is cult-like, is not something I am comfortable with in the White House. Period.

Anyone who isn't a Christian and holds office holds a faith that is cult like to some degree...

Remember, we are not electing a religious leader. We are electing a civil leader. As such, it is the civil policy of a person that we should look at a lot more than ones faith.

What drives a man's civil policy if not his faith? Man cannot be two things at once... How can we think putting a person of a perverse faith into office is going to bring healthy(Godly) change? The bible speaks of the woes of having evil doers in charge...

Well... Let's get past idea that without a doubt those who follow Allah, Mr. Smith, Budah, and the others mentioned in the post are without a doubt enemies of God... Self proclamed enemies...

As for the Bushes and Clintons... I wouldn't put much stock in either pair, but they do claim Christ... Of course they believe in abortion, gay rights and other ungodly themes... Personally I don't se how Christian can vote for any of the above...

That leaves us with what sensible options?

-A symbolic vote for a 3rd party candidate that won't win (and no need to kid oneself on that)?
-Stay home and let the ungodly choose for you?
-Wait until someone shows up that is on base with you 100% doctrinally?
-Write in a vote for Snoopy?

We've all heard the many times Mitt claims to be a Christian. I know many Mormons attempt to claim the LDS church is a Christian denomination. If you have been a Christian for a while and looked into this false religion you know it is far from Christian, even if Joel Osteen says he is.

Did you know Romney held the top level state position for the Mormon church at one time? He's a temple Mormon. He knows all the in's and out's of the religion to include the secret stuff and the all important departure from the Jesus of scripture. Now if he claims to be a Christian just like any other follower of "Christ alone", then he is decieving us.

I just heard a poll from today that nationally Romney held a small lead over Huckabee from the evangelicals. WOW!! I'll asume it is because they are voting the issues instead of their religion. Or is it that evangelicals really don't know what Mormons believe?

My question is, how can you vote for soemone who appears to be very dishonest about his beliefs, just to get elected?

Rick

I am an evangelical Christian and Romney's Mormonism would not prevent me from voting for him. I am very informed about the nature of Mormonism.

I can only assume that Romney believes his religion to be Christian.

Is Gov. Romney a true Christian? No

Will I vote for him if he is the Republican nominee for President? Yes.

A Mormon can be a good Conservative President even if he is not saved. And if it is Romney vs Clinton or Obama then I REALLY would rather have a Mormon president rather than one of those two.

What upsets me are people who say they will not vote for him because he is LDS. They may agree with everything else he says, but because he is a mormon, oh cant vote for him. Frankly that is the stupidest logic I may have ever heard, and it will be the thing that gets us either Sen Clinton or Sen Obama as president. And then it will be these same morons who refused to vote for Romney, who complain the loudest, and blame everyone else when THEY were apart of the problem.

Evangelicals voted the first divorced President into office, why not the first cultist?

Isn't a vote for the lesser of evils symbolic to a certain degree? The bible speaks of evil leaders bringing sorrow to the people... Or is this a case were democracy trumps the bible and that Word of God is no longer valid?

Depends... The idea that Christians can support people who belong to cults isn't a moot point...

A quick review of our Constitution reveals, unfortunately and contrary to lot of hoopla, the US of A isn't and never has been a Christian nation.

Waiting for a Christian candidate that shares even most of my beliefs is going to find me a long time in heaven without ever having cast another vote.

Know what you are saying but at the same time when forming the nation, the main religion was Christianity and was formed around that. It is why islam and the U.S. can never exist in peace inside in the long run., which muslims are showing much more each day.

But that would be why it would be moot; obviously there is no candidacy there to support there anymore.

So that means Christian can support whomever?

Btw... I don't believe we are, or have ever been a Christian nation...

Regardless that the cultist isn't running doesn't change the fact that a Christian felt it was ok to support him... That belief didn't die with Romney going away, nor did it just surface...

Well then I don't think Christans should support Thomas Jefferson either.
