My first husband taught me how to drive a stick. He left important papers at home, called me and said he needed them, and the only car I had at home was a stick. I learned -- real quickly!

I have another option for parking spots - I park in the spot closest to the cart return even if it's not the closest spot to the door. That way I don't have to worry about leaving the kids alone in the car while I put the cart away.

M'love and I have two small trucks, both with manual transmissions. I don't have to worry about the younger son borrowing a truck cause he only knows automatic. My older son and my daughter both know how to drive stick shift. My gal learned on a stick. That way she could drive anything. I am a co-rider on our motorcycle. Every now and then I wish I had my own motorcycle license. Then I could have a scooter. But how much gasoline would I have to save to make up the price of the bike, getting my license, the added insurance, etc.

Scooters would pay for themselves, since some get up to 100 mpg. College kids are getting them instead of cars if they are just staying around campus. Not sure about the insurance. Motorcycles, not so much because their is a lot of maintenance involved in a motorcycle.

45 MPG on the Gold Wing if we stick to the speed limit. Less if we take advantage of it's great zoomablity. For a large touring bike, it moves like a sport bike.... but there goes the gas mileage. Truck, 25 mpg last time I checked... so 75 mpg at $4. At five gallons it would be $20 for 375 miles. My paid for truck, 100 miles. If the scooter wasn't too expensive, it might not take long to start paying for itself. It helps that I'll be living in a mild area so the driving season is nearly year round.

Congratulations, Sarah! Since I could only vote for one option, I chose: Previously married; now widowed. I've actually been married twice. I divorced my first husband in 1982. I married CS in 2004, and he died in 2005.

I went with previously married, now divorced. We're not technically divorced yet, but he told me he's going to file sometime within the next month or so. May 27th would've been our 13th anniversary.
