HE CAME BACK! HE CAME BACK! HE CAME BACK! I was in the dining room having lunch when all of a sudden I heard this loud caterwauling. It was so loud that I thought the cat was in the crawl space under the house. I ran and put some shoes on to go outside, and when I opened the front door, there he was! I tried to get him to come into the house but he just stood there meowing, so I eventually picked him up and carried him inside. He's very skinny, but otherwise seems unharmed. I gave him some cat food and he was trying to eat and talk to me at the same time, which was very funny. He's been alternating between loading up on cat food and sitting in my lap. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for praying - it's a miracle he came back to me!

Like you and many others, I was fearing the worst. I had a cat that was gone for several weeks come back, too, but she had serious injuries. It is indeed good news to hear about your lil fuzzball.

My dd has a cat in Indiana. We are looking for a way to get him out here. My sister has three cats. Two she got as kittens about five years ago. The other just sorta wandered over here, hungry and cold about a year ago. That one is going to be bringing us kittens soon. All of the cats (except the pg one) are fixed. One of them is declawed. None of them are microchipped. They never will be. That is a technicology that I disagree with.

I'm so happy for you FPK! It's times like that that you wish they could tell you what adventures they've been on. I've got a kitty on my lap right now. One cat still keeps escaping out of the basement, so I've been leaving the door open. Hubby spent about an hour down there one night to see what they'd do, but of course they won't try anything when he's around. They still try to scratch at the kids' doors at night so I've been thinking about putting some tape up or something so they'll quit. It doesn't help that my son will instantly let one in his room if he hears them scratch. Dee

Well, I discovered today that Tut brought some unwelcome little guests home with him -- fleas. I guess I should've expected it since he spent three weeks outside, but I didn't notice him scratching yesterday at all. I worked him over with a flea comb (which he doesn't like much, especially on his undercarriage) and got several off of him, and then went and got him some Frontline (I'd forgotten how EXPENSIVE it is, but I know it works). He's been eating like a horse, and it may be just my imagination, but it seems to me he's already a little less bony. I got him a supplement gel at Petco; I thought about getting tablets, but I think it would be easier to get him to take the gel. He's sticking very close to me, wants up in my lap or my arms every chance he gets, and if I go in another room where he can't see me, I often get a howl of protest.

You may also want to think about getting him some worming tablets.

My vet sells something called Capstar tablets. They are about $3.50 a tablet. You can put it in their food and it will kill fleas for 24 hours. Our other vet apparently used them but would not sell them to customers. He only used them on pets when they were boarded. I know some of you don't care for toxic medicines. But if you get desparate and your pet is not particularly cooperative, it seems to me that any port in a storm is appropriate. Capstar, this LINK

Can I assume you didn't pre-chew it for her?
