quote:
Paul is an example of someone for whom Jesus alone was enough. Jesus was enough EVEN when He did not bless Paul with material possessions or deliver him from difficult circumstances. In fact Paul considered all things lost for the sake of knowing Christ. he was one who saw perfect balance in jesus. He wanted to "know christ in the power of His resurrection (all His kingly attributes, healing powers, riches and blessings) AND in the fellowship of His sufferings.) Philippians 3 Here's how we know Jesus was enough for Paul: "Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft, Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one, Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and in thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches". 2 Cor. 11:22-23 All for Jesus! Wonderful post, kisstheson, and may I add this also from Paul: Philippians 4:11-12 "..for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need."
