I have a GREAT pic that shows them in the reflection in the mirror - holding the sword - and the tip cutting the cake.....I'll have them up for her tonight......

Yup...Ray is an NCO in the Army and as a Sergant, he can have a saber. So, we used it to cut the cake. I had not heard of it before this wedding, but apparently it is an Army tradition.

I have some friends who posed with a Samuari sword at their wedding cake, but didn't use it to cut it... that would have been fun! Glad you got to!!

I guess I'll hop right in here. I am not officially engaged but Ive already picked out my own ring. Just waiting for him to return to get it...he wants to propose without me knowing exactly when. So Im pretty anxious even though I already seen the ring.

I really hope we can get married in the Winter months. We havent yet set an actual date since we are still finishing up counseling!

Why winter? I got married in winter and that day ended up being horrible weather and a bunch of people couldn't come. It was not so good.

Why winter? I got married in winter and that day ended up being horrible weather and a bunch of people couldn't come. It was not so good.

I was really aiming for October at first but counseling has been taking longer than expected because we arent able to meet every weekend sometimes because the Pastor might have prior engagement. Pplus, we meet on Friday nights. So you know how that can be. Its taking us so long to finish but Im sure at the end it will be worth it.

So at first I wanted a Fall wedding. We agreed on a 3-6 month timeframe. Winters here never really get that bad but all of my family lives here and his in NY and Texas. So that may cause issues depending on the snow. I just know that I dont want to get married in the traditonal wedding season. I wanted to elope but now Im changing my mind again.

My church has moved into a school until our new church is finished being built. Which wont happen for a few more years. So that was a buimmer.

So Sharon, I gotta know..... did you guys end up kissing or not during your wedding and/or reception? I remember that was something you were not happy about people pressuring you to do.

Well, the flower girl and ring bearer were missing for the ceremony. So, they did not get to be a part of the ceremony. Turns out, they were waiting in another room.

I'm sorry that happened. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm puzzled as to how that could happen, because every wedding I've ever been involved with, they always made sure all necessary bodies were present in the foyer before the ceremony could even begin to take place. That would be a MAJOR tragedy for me..one of my biggest dreams for my wedding is to a have LOTS of children in it..I don't want just a ring bearer and flower girl, I want a ring bearer and flower girl, a Bible boy and flower girl, 5 or 6 kids ringing bells, and 2 kids to carry the train, and I want them all to come in after all the adults, but before the bride(well, except the train carriers, of course)..and before any of the adults, I want a teenage boy and girl to come in and light the candles.

Woo Hoo Fluff!!!!! Congrats on setting the date. Wow....you have A LOT to do over the next few months! We are here to help.

Yep, we did the kiss. It was weird...especially since just a peck was not gonna do for Ray...LOL. But it was fine and we were quickly onto other things. They only did the clanging of the glasses to get us to kiss twice at the beginning of the reception after dinner. Had they done it again, we would have started giving each other a high five instead of a kiss.

As for the flower girl and ring bearer, it was not a tragedy at all. The ring bearer had no idea what was going on anyhow and the flower girl was still able to throw the flowers on the stone steps as we left the church and people blew the bubbles.
