You'll end up figuring out what aspects of your wedding you want to spend the most money on. If food is the most important, spend most of YOUR budget on food. Food is huge for us so we are having the best at the location we chose. One thing I recommend is to look at magazines for ideas and then see if you can do an economical version of it. It will mainly involved you making some of your own things. My boss at work is making my table card and printed menus. I am making a "slide show" myself and will rent a projector. I'll have a friend control it. Etc... I have to sooo take a few pics of myself and John so that we can present them to the artist who is making a charcoal drawing for us. I'm so excited about that! Hey, I'm excited to see our cake design and can't wait till after the wedding when our album is made. That's the other thing. We decided that hey, if you are going to have great pics being taken then have a great album too. The extra investment in the album will be worth it cause it's higher quality will mean longer enjoyment of those memories. I encourage you guys, even if you can't get something you want now, perhaps you can do it down the road. My boss never had a wedding. She just went to the judge cause she and her hubby were young and could afford anything. In two years on their 10th anniversary they plan to have the wedding they never had! I am looking forward to that. For me personally, I would really want a real ceremony, before G-d with family and friends to witness. It's kinda like betting baptized if you think about it. You are publically declaring your faithfulness through marriage. [:)]
