dawntreader -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (4/27/2008 1:13:29 AM)

Yes, almost everything is taken care of - we're getting down to the finer details now, like coordinating timing of everything with the photographer (a friend who's coming up from Indiana (I live in Michigan)), the caterer, the wedding party, master and mistress of ceremonies, etc. etc. We're keeping everything simple and not very large (around 95 people), but it's really sort of amazing how much work and coordination has to go into even a simple ceremony and reception!

How is everyone else coming along with things?

fluffmonkey -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (4/28/2008 12:59:30 AM)

Sara you will have to come back when your not busy with all the plans and share details and pics... and all that ^_^

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (4/28/2008 2:58:45 PM)

Wow how time flies by so fast! Yes, we all need to share our big day! [:)]

I think the final month is when you take all of the pieces of the puzzle and then put them together. I want to try to piece earlier if I could though. Ha.

dawntreader -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (4/29/2008 11:24:24 PM)

The earlier, the better, I guess... though you never know what little last minute things might come up that will end up changing your plans anyway! And yes, I am so excited to come back and share how everything went!

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/9/2008 4:59:28 AM)

Wow this thread was on page three! [8D]

My internet was down for awhile but now I'm back!

My dress is in! I went to try it on with much nervousness but I did lose some weight! Funny cause I wasn't sure if I did or not. I haven't been the most consistent in my diet and exercise. I guess what I DID do it was enough to see some results. Now I need to push it since I go in at the end of the month to actually make alterations. I do need to lose a little more...mostly the back fat. [:'(] lol

Hey...how did our wedding go? Hmm? lol Nah. Let her finish up the honeymoon first. [;)]

fluffmonkey -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/9/2008 11:07:05 AM)

Trish thats great

so how is everything else coming along?

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/11/2008 11:39:27 PM)

Woo Hoo!!!!! I just approved my invitation proofs to be printed! I'm soooooo excited about them.

One thing we did, instead of having an additional reception card, we just added a footnote onto the bottom of the invitation. Did anyone else do that or am I just cheap? LOL!

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 12:17:34 AM)

We just added a footnote, it seems pretty standard for the industry from what I have seen lately.

How exciting about invitations! Do you have a link to the site where you ordered them? And the design?

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 2:16:46 AM)

I had a friend print my rsvp cards so it didn't cost that much. I also have an insert of a map and directions to the ceremony site.

I should be sending them out by the end of the month. Yay!

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 6:39:29 PM)

Here is the link for the invitations

...we went with the pink color, not the blue one.

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 8:07:32 PM)

Ok, I have to vent for a second..... I really don't like showers. I don't like going to them and I'm not thrilled about one being thrown for me. I know...I know, my friends and family are just trying to do something nice for me. But.....eh......I'm not looking forward to it.

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 9:25:47 PM)

Just think about the fact that it's free food and you'll be fine. [:D] Oh and don't forget the gifts. Ha

Sharon there have been a lot of things you didn't look forward to but ended up being just fine. This is one will be fine too. You'll have fun. Are you having a late shower when you get back home or are they coming to you?

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 9:28:36 PM)

It is going to be on the weekend of July 4th when I go home to get my dress fitting and tie up a few other things.

Eh....it will be fine. At least I'll know what to expect. Hopefully it won't last too long...LOL.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 9:40:06 PM)

I didn't like them either, Sharon. I really dislike having everyone watch me while I open gifts[8|]

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/12/2008 9:44:01 PM)

LOL...growing up my favorite part of Christmas was snooping and finding all my gifts....!!!!

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 3:07:47 AM)

[:D]

One thing I can't imagine is opening a gift in front of everyone and it being some sexy lingerie. [8|] I haaaad a registry you know. lol!

laughinggirl -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 4:06:24 PM)

If that happens, just say "YEAH! That's what I'M talking about!!!" and everyone else will be embarrassed, thus taking the focus off of you. [;)]

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 6:27:31 PM)

I'm just gonna rush through the shower so to get it over with......

I soooooooooooooooo can't wait until August 24th....(that is the day AFTER the wedding)....then life can go on and the focus will be off me and all the crazy and stupid traditions that I'm getting stuck with.

Why oh Why wouldn't my fiance just agree to elope like I wanted to????? [8|] Oh yeah...because all he has to do is show up to the wedding!

fluffmonkey -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 6:30:52 PM)

maybe it want be as bad as ya think Sharon

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 6:35:30 PM)

It would have been fine if a year ago I had not made it very clear (or so I thought) to everyone planning this thing that if I did get engaged, I did not want a shower!!!!!!!

We don't "need" the stuff we will get. Will it be nice to have? Sure. But, we both have good jobs and we are both established on our own as adults. And the most annoying part of the whole thing? I'll have to find a way to get all the "stuff" back to Omaha from Maryland where the shower and wedding will be. [:@]

Ok....there is nothing I can do about it. They are going to throw the shower regardless. So, I'm done venting. Complaining about it won't help the situation.

sharonjef2007 -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/13/2008 11:24:07 PM)

Ha Ha.....my best friend is giving me all the dirt on the shower. I'll still have to pretend to be suprised, but at least I know what their plans are and what they are doing for the shower. I feel a lot better now.

Mrs.Dawgfan -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/14/2008 12:12:43 AM)

Not unless there's new stuff that will brew. Muahahaha! [:D]

Kidding, kidding.

It's that time of the month isn't it? [:D]

Sharon, perhaps you could ask to have the gifts shipped? Then again, people may not want to put in the added cost.

Loud-N-Proud -> RE: 2008 Wedding Thread (5/14/2008 10:58:28 PM)

Sharon-- At least you have someone doing it for them! I had to ask my mom to help me throw one for myself! [:(][:@]I was so hurt and mad that I had to ask for someone to do it! My sister just got married last year and 4 people from church and our family offered to throw her one! And now that it is my turn; no one seems to care!

I hate to admit it but I will be soooo glad when my wedding is over! Then I can be happy! I was told early in my engagement that this is one of the most happiest times in your life! Well not in my life! [&:] it has been one stupid thing after another! I can't wait to burn my marriage counseling book and never look at that waste of money again!

I know that sound harsh but it really was for us! Me and my soon to be talk about everything. We didn;t need a book or our know -it -all of a pastor tell what we needed to do! I lost all faith in marriage counseling about a week ago, after my pastor told me that because I am stubborn My soon to be would leave me!! [sm=shocked.gif]

I never thought my engagemnet would go like this! So my advice to all you girls is live it up! Enjoy this and be thankful it is nothing like mine has been!

And sorry for venting but if I didn't say something to somebody ( who understands) I was going to go nuts!
