It's spelled other ways, too, but it is a temporary hut used on Sukkot, in which we celebrate the World to Come or Eternity. We invite people over to eat, study Scripture, eat, party, eat, give presents to one another, eat, and schmooze. The party goes on for eight days, and when it is over, we take down the sukkah. You should be able to see through the roof of the sukkah, because this will remind us of G-d's presence and of the World to Come. And a sukkah should be made of natural materials, especially branches with leaves on them but even better, branches with leaves and fruit! Some people spend the eight days in them, but here, it is too cold most of the time to do that. So you can come over, but ya gotta go home when we go inside our house, or the raccons will git ya!
