I'll be very happy if it does! XD I got some ideas for my own from this.

You know... I'm going to laugh very hard (and be very, VERY disappointed) if this thread stays alive until Christmas time...

Especially considering that it started as a joke that was funny back in January................

ROFL.

I am just glad that now I don't have to have anymore "Christmas in July" nonsense. It is the Georgia-no-sales-tax-on-school-supplies week.

Wish CA had that!

And neither do lazy, freeloading brother-in-laws.

Maybe he wanted to avoid the Christmas rush, all the Santa=Satan threads and have his as the one all others are linked to.[sm=wink.gif]

Roberta_ -> RE: Christmas, 2008 (7/30/2008 4:51:18 PM)

Kath- is that a recent picture of you and hubby?

Just so we can keep this thread on topic..... was it taken on or near a holiday? [;)]

It was taken 5 years ago actually, and it was a holiday of sorts, it was taken at my parents 50 wedding anniversary party.

Don't you know there must be some paganistic roots in celebrating an anniversary?![sm=icon_smile_faint.gif]

Exactly! PAGAN, PAGAN, PAGAN!

The word comes from "Anni," the nickname of the pagan godess Dianna, and "versary," which was the reciting of endless verses of praise to her.

Truth is, everything in our culture pretty much has a pagan
origin. I guess we have to decide if it's an actual affront to
God or not. Or, a custom that doesn't really matter so much.

Believe me, celebrating my parents 50th is a custom that mattered very much to her.

ROFLOL! How long did ya have to think before coming up with that one? [;)]

JimboFletch -> RE: Christmas, 2008 (7/31/2008 2:16:02 PM)

I can crank out nonsense almost on moment's notice (I work in sales), but useful information may take a day or two.

Indeed it is.
And what a glorious testimony to celebrate 50 years.

We just passed the 40 year mark last June.

I'm still "in" love. Can't speak for "her." lol.

I understand the feeling. We are 16 days away from the 34th. I am still in love and she is still dumb for putting up with me.

and God bless you and dear Mrs Qtman!

We just passed 23, so we have a ways to go. :)

JimboFletch -> RE: Christmas, 2008 (8/1/2008 5:55:40 PM)

After 36 years of married bliss, I'm not sure about how special her spouse is, but of the two of us my BW has the best in-laws.
[sm=thumbsup.gif]

Kath -> RE: Christmas, 2008 (8/1/2008 6:24:13 PM)

[sm=smile.gif] Well, I think her spouse is pretty nice. :)

Funny, but when people at work found out we were getting married, I was told over and over how nice he was but he was never told how nice I am. [sm=aside.gif]In fact, once time some gal said "I heard you're marrying Larry" yes, I replied, to which she said, with a puzzled look on her face "but he's so nice!"[sm=mad.gif]

For what it's worth where I come from it would be said that Larry Married Up. Meaning you are nice and he improved himself by marrying you.

Can I butter up a mod or what.

J/K about that last line.

You did that pretty well! I'll have to remember to get you a 'get out of jail free' card. [8D] Not saying you'll ever need it...[sm=sly.gif]

(and that was a very nice thing to say, thank you)
