I'll just joke around a not even worry about it. LOL! Bluethread, you see that post, friend? It's that sort of sanctimonious drivel that causes me and others to take issue with your side of the fence. Humanistic reasonings... How precious... Last time I checked my name was not LBolt nor am I in a position of authority over him. If he chooses to comfort me by pointing out that some use humanistic reasonings, what is that to you, since you say you do not do that. Where is this fence you speak of. I thought it was only legalistic rabbis who put up fences. Yeshua tells us how to deal with these situations. (Mt 18:15) "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. I don't wish to be legalistic, but this seems to work better for me.

ORIGINAL: Bluethread ...Would it be acceptable to say that those who observe "christmas" are in bondage to the society of the USA? Also, what is it when someone says one is not keeping December 25th properly, if it does not include an acknowledgement of something that didn't even occur at that time? A) Society did not make the decision to celebrate the Incarnation on 12/25. Society followed the established Church, then added much that wasn't present hundreds of years ago. So it's a moot point about being in bondage to society. B) I have never seen a handbook on how to keep 12/25. I have routinely celebrated the Incarnation on other dates for my family's convenience without any feeling of impropriety. It's the keepers of ancient feasts that seem to have a proper way to "keep" feasts. Again, a moot point. C) I believe I have said more than once that I've known December 25 was not the day of the Incarnation since the 1960s. That is a non-issue. Just curious, since Carl hasn't found time to embrace or reject the statements I posted from his authoritative website on Sabbath & Christmas, what do you think about the sorts of things that person and his crowd teach? Must I always restate to circumstantial information to make a point? A) Do you say one is in bondage when one follows any tradition regardless of it's origins or is it just those that follow biblical tradition that bothers you? If you have called the following of traditon in general bondage, I have not noticed it. B & C) I was using Dec. 25th as a point of reference. I know you have said the date is arbitrary. Also, my original statement was not directed at you specifically. Until you stateed you revultion with my alternative, I did not refer to you at all. I was talking of those who decry the idea that the "christ" has been taken out of "christmas", because some to see it as a "commercial" holiday. "In for a penny, in for a pound." refers to the idea that if one accepts another persons observance, one can not expect that person to change that observance to suit ones preferences. For the third time, I have no problem with those who do good, religious or commercial. Therefore, I question your generalization that, "It's the keepers of ancient feasts that seem to have a proper way to 'keep' feasts." There are many more people who are particular about the observance of christmas than there are people who question the keeping of the feasts. When was the last time you heard someone say, "It's about time we put the Sukkah back in Sukkot."

ORIGINAL: PopsiLufsJesus you type in your Bible? do you take the Bible you TYPE in to churchy church with you? It is a looseleaf Bible, and it's fabulous. It came in a three-ring binder. I can set up notes on my computer, so that they are neatly-written, even in color, then just put the page in and let the notes print. The only problem is that it is (obviously) huge, each page being 8-1/2 x 11. I carry it in a leather attache case. It's a great study Bible for one with aging eyes. The only problem will be carrying it when I am 85. But really, when I take it to services, I just take the pages I think I will need, putting them in a thin 3-ring binder, then bring along my tiny Bible, which fits in a small pocket in my purse.

So, when you go to the Luthern church you can leave the book of James at home. You leave the apistolic writtings at home when you go to the synogogue. And, you can just bring the Apistolic writtings when you go to the old testiment has been done away with church. Maybe they should call it the camelian bible. Not that you'd be one to hide your true beliefs. LOL

ORIGINAL: Thessa If someone says happy holidays to me i always look at them, smile, and say "Merry Christmas". Im not offended by those who say happy holidays to me, or if you said what you say to me - what i am offended by is when people try to take Christ out of the holiday. Sadly...im sure it will happen again this year. Thats one thing i never look forward too. Okay, I'll admit it: "Merry Christmas" is offensive to me, but I know that many say it out of the kindness of their hearts, with intended good will. But some people are clearly Christmas Nazis. Some in my area even say merry Christmas with a look like, "I just dare you not to respond in kind." It's their holiday, and they are going to do it if they have to kill everyone else's joy in their own holidays to have it their way. Its not their way. Christmas is now the general consensus that Jesus was born on that day. So most Christians will do everything they can to make sure that day isnt torn apart by non Christians. Its a normal act. I do not know a single adult believer that thinks Jesus was born any time even close to December 25 Well i think He was. So now you know one that does.

Abiyah, I have never seen one of those loose leaf bibles. That sounds really neat. I think I'd be tempted to doodle all over it though. M'love has three bibles in his PDA and we can cross reference stuff in a flash if the church has a hot-spot for internet. GASP using the internet while the preacher is speaking?!? One pastor actually encourage it because he knew we were double checking what he claimed from the stage. BTW, should I be offended for being called a blank wall?

It is NASB, has far fewer notes than most Bibles, and it is versatile beyond belief. You can find them on the Internet. They also come in NIV and KJV, I believe -- maybe more. By the way, several people use their computers during our services -- for the very reason you mentioned. Not many leaders are willing to subject themselves to being checked up on, so I am glad to read that.

I've got a loose-leaf Bible (KJV). I got it because is was really hard to get clean pages off the copy machines, besides breaking the backs of the Bibles. Now, I remove the pages I want to copy and doodle all I want on them. I like cut and pasting maps along side the sections of Scriptures. Gives me an idea what part of Israel, Syria, etc. anyone was as I read. I like to tape pages together and make scrolls out of them. I like taping pages together in a book, then line a book parallel to another book to compare. My walls are never blank. lol. I've always got maps, charts, etc. stapled on them.

Blonde? Hee-hee! No, it's looseleaf, in a 3-ring binder, and the pages are 8-1/2 X 11 inches. I type ON the pages -- sorry, my error for saying I type IN it.

ORIGINAL: PopsiLufsJesus Oh goodness! I am blonde! I just read over all of this stuff and realized you said you have a looseleaf Bible...I know what that means...You don't literally type in it and it isn't electronic like I was thinking... It all makes sense now. Cool none-the-less! That is a good idea, electronic bible. You'd better get that idea pattented before the Adversary(Bill Gates) and his demons(Microsoft) get it to market.

My son had at least two versions on his PDA, with notes, but his was stolen. Hope whomever took it at Home Depot read it!
