Wouldn't it be neat if we could somehow have a Crosswalk Christmas party? (Am I showing my age by using the word "neat"? Should I say "cool" instead? But my kids say even that word is passe. Probably because I've said it, and I'm obviously ancient at 44.)

Is everyone ready for the holidays to kick into high gear? It seems the bulk of it holds off until after Halloween, but after that all bets are off.

neat, cool, groovy... will probably have to be a virtual party. Recently the word for something extremely good is "sick". Confusing, isn't it.

anyhow, I can whip us up some virtual eggnog or sumptin.

Unnnnhhhh. Not being a lover of Christmas, my favorite radio station went off this morning when I heard them play their first christmas song. I switched to another station, until January 2nd. Why they have to annoy the daylights out of us by playing the same stuff over and over every day for over a month, I will never know. Even people who like that music get tired of it! Come on! Get a clue!

Gotta put more music on my whatchamacallit.

Well, not that I don't own two, working! And two working 8-track players, four or more tape players, and some CD players! Ha-ha! But I intended those little thumbdrives that play music . . . .

Oh, yeah! MP3. Man, they have got to stop inventing stuff. I can't remember what everything is called!

For me it's winding down. The advantage of honoring the messiah "early" is that I can relax and scoop up the deals when it's all over.

((putting foot dow)) I intend to ignore as much Christmas HoooHaaa as I can until after Thanksgiving. I know that some things have to start early, like rehearsals for performances, etc....but the marketing is excessive... and over playing of seasonal music on the radio...

Gotta figure out how I want to decorate in the yard for Thanksgiving.

Yay Christmas! The best time of the year yo! I'm so excited for this christmas, it's super special to me. This is the first christmas since I've been a Christian :D Can't believe it's been almost a year already. Our Walmart has their Christmas decor out already, I just love walking through the isles and looking at all of it. Especially the cards... oh the cards... I find a day when I have a few hours to spare and just read the cards and cryyyyyyyy right there in the isle. People stare haha, thats ok, I do it every year so I'm used to it.

Thank you for the reminder of how happy I am that I don't work at Wal Mart anymore!

I went to my first Christmas program practice today. I love being in our church Christmas programs! In the end, our assistant pastor (who is in charge of it) prayed that we would do it to serve and not to have people look at us and think we're talented or whatever. It was a perfectly normal thing to say in a prayer, and perfectly right, but it sure got me examining my motives. I do it because it's fun. I do it because I think I'm pretty good at it if I work at it. I do it because I like to be with the other people in it. I know that ministry happens, but it would happen if I weren't in it, and if I weren't in it, there would be somebody else in the church who would play my part and do a fine job of it, probably better than me. I have always felt that I get more out of being in a Christmas program than I could ever give.

Nope that's me in the avatar. If it looks like I'm a woman, maybe I need to change it.

I love those fiber optic trees! I've always wanted one. I'm cheap, so when I buy something like that, I wait until after Christmas.

Roberta, I'm totally that way! Except Im stingy with other people. In years past I've made excuses why I couldn't visit someone before the holidays, then wait til the after Christmas sale, buy their gifts and show up a few days after Christmas ;) No one ever caught on. And I saved 50%. haha.

speaking of christmas I have some beautiful red bows I need to hang outside on my patio. I love them! I paid full price for them by the way haha, I'm only cheap with other people.

Rami - that is why my family always got together after Christmas when I was growing up. It was so that we could buy the presents after Christmas. I guess cheapness thriftiness runs in my family.

All of you can just start doing Sukkot instead, dropping Christmas, then you can party for eight days, having people over throughout the time, going to vist others in their sukkahs, giving and receiving gifts, celebrating until the sun arises, and even celebrating the Savior's birth!

That would also take care of the Christmas rush! You can still buy your after everyone else has finished Christmas, and hide them away -- but you won't have to hide them for nearly a year, just until September or October!

Hey! There's an idea!
