I LOVE the Kingdom Heirs!

Currently I think they produce the all-around-best Southern Gospel music in the industry. Their energy and songs actually remind me a little of the GC glorydays with Jay Parrack and Tim Riley (and a full band). It just doesn't get any better than "What We Needed" and "Now I Am On My Way To Heaven."

Currently in my Itunes Top 25 Most Played, the Kingdom Heirs hold all 3 of the top spots with "Let's Make a Baby King," "I Want You To Know" and "What We Needed." [:)]

They're definitely one of my favorite (possibly becoming my very favorite) group.

16 of my top 25 most played songs on Windows Media Player are Kingdom Heirs songs. Surprisingly enough though my #1 most played song is not a Kingdom Heirs song, but instead it's "God Handled It All" by Gold City.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/16/2008 6:43:43 PM)

guess my most played is by Called Out Quartet

BRBB -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/16/2008 6:45:45 PM)

I'd like to hear a new album of classic hymns from them. Of course it really wouldn't matter to me. I'd probably buy an album of them humming.

LRBB -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/16/2008 6:49:25 PM)

I'm thinking it's probably about time for Series 2 to come out. If so I'm hoping it's a combination of classic hymns and remakes of some of their older songs. Well that's pretty much what Series 1 was so chances are Series 2 would follow suit.

BRBB -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/16/2008 6:55:20 PM)

My most played song is "When He Reached Down His Hand". The Kingdom Heirs version. Its among my all time favorite songs.

clintabbott -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/17/2008 10:54:01 AM)

The Kingdom Heirs performed at our church last Wednesday and they made a lot of new fans. I have followed them for abour 13 years. They are my favorite SG quartet.

LRBB -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/17/2008 2:07:33 PM)

I like that signature line Clint. I guess I'm also an heirhead.[:D]

BassSingerSwain -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/17/2008 4:14:54 PM)

This is reaching way back in the vault, but check out this old KH clip.

The lineup is tenor Rick Strickland, a young-looking Clayton Inman singing lead, a Dr. Phil-esque Steve French on baritone, and bass Bob Caldwell.

sevans -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/20/2008 10:51:02 AM)

Speakong of Bob Caldwell were is he now? Haven't seen him since he left Won by Won.

LOL. Like I said, I thought he resembled Dr. Phil.

Bald too.[:D]

Kerrlaw -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/20/2008 8:31:33 PM)

I have seen the lineup in the clip many times. Brings back memories of sitting in the freezing cold at Dollyworld in the winter (before KH moved to an indoor theater).

Steve French and Arthur Rice have a good a good rug weaver.

OLDMOM -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/21/2008 5:55:42 PM)

Not long ago there was a death in our community. This man was retired, loved to camp in Pigeon Forge and he and his wife were on the front row, every time the Kingdom Heirs sang. When the Kingdom Heirs traveled, they hooked up their camper and went to hear them sing. Never missed being in the front row, every event, and was a great friend to the group.

Dennis Murphy attended the service. I know the family was touched that he and his wife Angie took the time to drive 4 hours for the service in the middle of winter.

I think this speaks volumns for the type of men the Kingdom Heirs are.

My sincere thanks to them.

SGEnthusiast -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/21/2008 6:47:03 PM)

The first Kingdom Heirs song I remember hearing was The Test of Time but it wasn't my favorite. I think they played it too much but I love the group now. I won a CD of theirs on The Gospel Greats a few years ago and decided they were pretty good. This last year at NQC, I saw them perform and heard The Rock's Between a Hard Place and You. That is one of my current favorite songs.

Do you like "What We Needed," from that CD?

(I loaned Sony my copy of True to the Call to introduce her to the current KH lineup.[:)])

dbmurray -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/21/2008 10:48:47 PM)

I just got home from a Kingdom Heirs concert. They again confirmed my ongoing belief that Arthur Rice is the best lead singer in Southern Gospel (and the rest of the group ain't shabby either).

I was impressed by their new piano player, Andy Stringfield. He doesn't overplay, but still makes his presence known to compliment the overall blend.

My group was also on the program. We weren't 100%, unfortunately. I can barely talk right now (which shouldn't affect my piano playing, I suppose, although I did forget what key I was in a couple of times), and some of the singers were a bit under the weather as well.

All the members of the Kingdom Heirs were very gracious to us, though, which has always been the case.

I saw Ms. Judy. She was down in the mouth...literally! :o) But she was in great spirits as usual. I saw her snapping away with a camera at one point...don't know if those shots will appear anywhere online any time soon or not.

I'd estimate the crowd at 7-800. That's not bad for a cold rainy night.

MsJudy -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/21/2008 11:23:14 PM)

I tried to get some good shots of David & the group "Southern Sounds". These are really great guys, and they CAN sing too.........

I enjoyed the concert, {1st one I've been to since October!}, but I'm still kind of under the weather and wasn't at my best. I agree, ARTHUR RICE is the best lead singer out there! I was really touched by the story Steve shared with us about Josh, his son, and the song he sang, "True To The Call".

The crowd was good IMO, considering the weather outside.

David was referring to me as 'being down in the mouth', that's an understatement!!! I had mouth surgery Monday, and have a mouth full of stitches, and still went to a concert! Guess now you know for sure, I'M BLONDE! LOL...

clintabbott -> RE: The Kingdom Heirs Thread (2/22/2008 6:50:45 AM)

Daniel- I really like "What we needed". I predict it will go high on the charts.

You're a real trooper, MsJudy!!! I know you enjoyed it!

I saw them do that song a few months ago at Dollywood and it was amazing. Arthur Rice wasn't feeling good, but he was a real trooper and Billy Hodges cranked it up a notch and hit a note that I didn't think he was capable of hitting. If there were windows in the Showstreet Palace they would have shattered. I was telling BRBB as we walked out that if we had drove all the way down there and they just sung that one song, it still would have been worth the trip.

It's doing pretty well for itself thus far. On its 8th week on the SGN charts, it's #15 and climbing.

Wow!

Actually, Billy can sing higher than just about anyone thinks.[:)]
