I think it's very cool! I love that the kids will be getting things they need. I'm really hoping for a little girl to shop with/for. I have lots of practice with that!

Now that's what I call living! I don't have a lot of money being on a disability pension, but God knows I love to shop! I've lost count now how many times He's had me shopping for groceries for needy people, baby clothes etc for families that just don't have the means to buy them, gift baskets for girls/women in drug rehab/half way houses, ingredients to make food for needy families. I so wish I could do more. I get such a buzz out of doing it. To me, I haven't done much, just something I like doing, but to them, it means so much more. If I had more money, I'd just spend it on others. Sure, there's a bit part of me that would like a vacation, and hopefully one day I'll get one, but for now, I have a blast when God tells me it's time to go shopping.

Hey Trish!

So what are you doing this week?

Not a whole lot except the usual stuff around the house...maybe some reading and scrapbooking. Kristen is gone for a couple of weeks and it's a little too quiet around here! I hate to admit it, but I'm getting a teeny bit bored with no school. I'm not ready to take on the full nine yards again(I'll have 18 units in the fall), but I'm so used to having something to do that I'm getting bored now that camp is over. It's nice on some ways...I do get to sleep in

Our assistant pastor and his wife resigned today and I'm sad. They are so wonderful and I've become good friends with her. They are taking a senior pastoral position in a church out of state, which is great for them, but sad for us. Hopefully, whoever we get in to take their place will be half as energetic and special as they are.

Yeah, today was the last Sunday our Pastor Dave preached. I did good until the slideshow/video that was prepared without his knowing.
And then I had promised to go from out church to another church to hear a friend's sister, lead the worship service. Her sister had finally given her family permission to come and hear her preach LOL! The entire family has always been Catholic and the sister in ministry...is Methodist. She had a neat testimony. Glad I went.

So now... I am hoping there is a big break in good-byes.

Hi Sharon!

It is quiet. I keep thinking my korner is dying a slow death. I can't seem do breath live back into it!

Steve has been pretty swamped with school, but he has a reprieve now, so maybe he'll poke his pointed head in and stir things up!

I leave on the 30th and will be home on August 12th. I'm excited!

Those sandals are a hoot. I love the heel on the first pair but never did like that gladiator style. The second pair are way too flat and just uuuugly!! I also love the heel and the platform on the third pair, but the top of them is just waaaaay too much!

Maybe it is just a slow period.

These forums like any organization go in cycles. This may be a slow one for this thread. But as long as your friends are around it will continue.

Everybody seems to be busy for the Summer. I noticed the posts dropping off a bit about a month ago.

Yep...they all have their on and off times.

I stopped this afternoon at the best produce stand. I got cantaloupes, grapes, strawberries, white peaches(my favorites), avocados, tomatoes, and fresh raspberries. I made the yummiest sorbet today with raspberries. California may be hot and burning up, but we have the best fresh produce anywhere!

Never tried white peaches. We don't seem them here all that often. I love avacado but Tooshy can't stand it. About once a year we get fresh bing cherries. The first week they're really expensive and the second week they're on sale half off or better.

I'm the only one in my house that likes avocados. Everyone else hates them. My all time favorite sandwich is really ripe tomato, avocado, and a few sprouts with a little mayo and salt and pepper. Yummy!!

White peaches are soooo good. Very sweet and juicy. They are practically dessert all alone.

Do you have yellow tomatoes there?? I haven't been able to get them here in years. I used to and I love, love, love them! But they seem to be nowhere to be found now.

Not sure but I think so. Could you grow your own? They're a lot lower in acid and easier on the tummy.

WHN is having chili and french bread. I'm having fruit salad.

They are all very good. I cut up and froze some for smoothies so they don't go bad.
