My all time favorite sandwich is really ripe tomato, avocado, and a few sprouts with a little mayo and salt and pepper. Yummy!!

A little bacon on that and you're all set.

Ray, Ray, Ray. Apparently you haven't heard that tomato plants need water and attention. That never goes well around here! I forget about them and then they die. I so do not have a green thumb!

I am alive! And actually survived speech class!!! I still have an online final to take as well as write a self-evaluation paper.

Avocado is ICK!

There is nothing better than home-grown tomatoes, and you won't get salmonella from them either.

I know. The people who run this place I buy from do only organic grown foods and it's like their private oversize garden, so I trust them.

I think it's the slimy texture, not to mention the taste.

Do you have yellow tomatoes there?? I haven't been able to get them here in years. I used to and I love, love, love them! But they seem to be nowhere to be found now.

I never see them in the stores but I have grown my own before. This year Kim brought me 20 tomato plants and I have no idea what variety they are, and I don't know if she does either.

White peaches are soooo good. Very sweet and juicy. They are practically dessert all alone.

I remember you saying that so when the store had white peaches the other day I bought a couple. I haven't had them yet.

I have a few varieties of heirloom tomatoes and I also have a couple Roma plants. Roma is my very favorite mater!

They are so good...mild and sweet. I like them for salsa.

I hope you enjoy those peaches, Kath

That's strange Steve...romas are what I buy when the vine ripened aren't available and I don't want to stop at the produce stand. They don't have the same full flavor to me as the big vine ripened ones.

If you forget about them, I'm starting to wonder if it's your thumb that's causing the problem...

I got cantaloupes, grapes, strawberries, white peaches(my favorites), avocados, tomatoes, and fresh raspberries.
That probably would've cost more than $50 here. Cantaloupes are going for $3 each, and white peaches, if you can find 'em, are like 4-something a pound. Raspberries? How's $3 a pint sound?

Seems Ray has the same situation. Three weeks ago cherries were $5/lb, last week they were $.99. This week they're gone.

I grew some a couple of summers. They were these little globes, too big to be cherry tomatoes but too small for sandwiches. They were great quartered in salads. Nice and sweet with very little acid.

Good one, James!!

Oh, now that's just cold, James! I think I'm like my girls were when we planted our first garden as a science project for them. We got it all set up and planted and a week or so later when I said something about weeding it. They were like "you mean we have to work out there?" If I could grow them indoors, we'd probably get along just fine!

Oh my goodness!! I got all that for about $18, and a lot of it too! That's terrible that fresh produce costs that much! I guess that's one of the benefits to living in an agriculture pocket...abundance of it and very reasonably priced. But gas is $4.65 for the cheap stuff out here, so it's a good thing something is cheap
